  1. I went to footie training tonight down in Portsmouth: on a school's all weather pitch. My route took me past Roko, with all the 5 a side games in full swing. Can anybody tell me where Pompey's training pitches are? I only ask because there were a couple of full sized movable goals up against a fence, and the pitch they presumably are used on probably had a few Grey Mullet swimming around in the puddles (or puddle, as most of it seemed to be..).. Edit: I may have been looking at the wrong place, but given the appallling state of the pitch at Fratton Park I think I can be excused!
  2. I've never had a hamstring, but a couple of gluteus go, and 'ping' is quite a good way of describing it. Both times I let out unladylike imprecations... Buit there are different levels of seriousness though, so fingers crossed.
  3. I don't know if we can do it for reasons others have outlined, but put it this way, after my skiing holiday I shan't be changing any euros back..
  4. I've had GM injuries twice: once deep in the muscle where I had so much pain and lack of control that I headed the ground with my nose, and earlier this season where I just tore the muscle sheath in training. The second time my recovery was _much_ quicker, so let's hope it's that..
  5. We have a game in hand..
  6. I wonder if our very own The9 is at the match today? If so I'm sure we'll get an unbiaised and unvarnished account of the game..
  7. Sorry, difficult to keep up with this thread! The rentaquotes all merge into one..
  8. I am. He wasn't bad - originally played for the Terriers - but then it was noticeable that he stopped performing as he was obviously angling for a move, got it and since then has never, to my knowledge, ever mentioned that he played for Saints.
  9. Heehee: from the Snooze comments: "The Wimbledon fans are not very happy on their site. They also mostly seem to hate Pompey and now Tubbs. Firstly they harboured hopes that he would stay with them so they are disappointed he has left. They are also unhappy that he didn't celebrate his goal against us, proving to them he was always coming here & not them. Now a few of them want to check our finances because they believe we have broke the bank to get him. They are criticising the way the debt has been paid out and they want us relegated. They are scoffing at the comment from Tubbs about not wanting to go to a middle of the table team because they think we are in a relegation fight. I think they may be a tad envious." I suspect not...
  10. That article says " Furthermore, the club [inter] are apparently looking to sell him in January." Thought he was still ours officially and that it was only a loan? So whose problem is he?!
  11. I'd just come on here to post that, but as ever the PTS thread is right up-to-date!
  12. This is one thread where I side with CB Fry. Amazing, as I normally find his posts annoying. I'd prefer to await any possible appeal process, but as it stands Evans hasn't shown any remorse, and hasn't accepted he has done any wrong. Why he was released under licence I'm not sure as I thought a degree of remorse and lack of danger to the public was one of the conditions. He may, sober as he was, have thought that there was some implicit consent given (although the jury - who unlike us heard all the evidence and assessed the witnesses - thought otherwise) but he doesn't seem to acknowledge the distress caused to the victim. If anybody has been the victim of mob rule it is her. He may have genuinely misjudged a situation but there is no sign even that he accepts that. People who work with sex offenders say that getting them to accept their misdeeds is often an issue, and until they do there is no way forward.
  13. Touch wood I've hardly had one since moving in about 18 months ago, although there was a suspicious one today which had a delay and sounded like an automated recording or call centre, which I cut off after a second. I give out my number as little as possible, and when I tried to declare online that I didn't have a TV I gave up as they wanted name, number and/or email. S*d that, I wouldn't trust Capita an inch.
  14. I notice that they didn't have a game today. Can't be helping their cash flow...
  15. We obviously need a er...
  16. Tell me about it! But have you got a spare ticket?!
  17. It was a rumour spread about by Turkish.... (Came back in 2013).
  18. S*d it! Just learned that my game tomorrow has been called off - presumably with a waterlogged pitch. Bloomin' inevitable, but didn't want to risk a tenner by buying a ticket I couldn't use. If anyone has a single spare ticket I'd be pleased to save _you_ that tenner! Thanks.
  19. I'll sign this. What's the odds that my game tomorrow will be off, given today's rain in the south. If saintmonkey's pitch is the one on the chalk down he'll be OK!
  20. Just got home via various hostelries and my village sailing club: - I didn't want the buzz to finish. I'm playing Sunday, drat it, so off for a run tomorrow and I'll definitely wear my Saints top (in a PO area)...
  21. OI! What's so funny about my name? Just hope that I use my tin whistle on you and not my flute! When I was younger I rather thought about the trumpet, but Alison Balsom had first choice... I'm sure if you cringe enough I could protect you, but I might put on me boots and insist you clean the house. (Don't laugh guys, it works for a friend of mine..).
  22. 2016 - we've hit the future... and it's still funny!
  23. Well, not having a telly I see it only on visits to rellies, but it's basically panto, with old jokes, played live and over the top: just right for this time of year. CB Fry plays the panto villain all the time: he's so unpleasantly, cynically negative that he's ideal for the role.
  24. Oi, I'll have you know we often play on pitches like that in the bottom divisions of women's football; at the end of the season...
  25. I was just about to write a complaint about that, but you've admitted it! I like the "Discover the Most..." and Jobs Today section too.
