Aston Villa Ticket Rip Off - SFC Screwing Fans Over
suewhistle replied to pluto's topic in The Saints
With any luck he'll save £10 by getting a Villa ticket and then get escorted on to one of their coaches back to Villa... -
Never seen them mentioned on a football forum before, but I see you remember your geography too! Did you stay at the YHA at Harlech: I was traumatised by my field trip a few years before. The weather and the food, both appalling.. But you've just reminded me that I probably didn't go to the Villa replay: it was West Brom I went to in the midlands.

Hardly the few, sweetheart. Besides, the general dislike for Hoddle didn't mean that _we_ chose the alternatives...

Saints website getting politicised?
suewhistle replied to SaintJackoInHurworth's topic in The Saints
I wonder what Bearsy gets? -
I can't remember how I got up there, or how I got back, for that matter, but have vague memories of being worried in that crowd in case I needed a wee! I can remember more about the final: I went up in a coach organised by the SU student's union, and we picked up a hitcher on the way: not a fan but she was crafty enough to wear red and white.. I didn't recall it being such a cr*ppy game, but remember Gilchrist's and Peach's goals. I'd been to the Villa replay after being behind the flight of Hughie Fisher's shot at the end of the home game: he had a fussy stuttering run, but certainly hit it well. Think we'd abandoned hope by that time! Anyway, thanks Turks (and whoever quoted your post). :-)

Didn't Dom Gape not come on as sub against someone? [Man U possibly?] MLGGGGGGeeeee?
-
I think that's a pretty good summary of the situation.

Did you have to spoil my Friday? Still, it gets worse down thread: Dixon, Speedie and Branfoot: what a combination!

Apparently last year we " stubbornly and impressively resisted interest from Tottenham Hotspur". Not that impressive given how little they were offering..
-
Not on twitter, but is anyone on here prepared to ask him the question?
-
It hasn't! As you say, it's been an interesting season, with quite a number of what-ifs. We could certainly finish above Spurs or Liverpool, and I think most of us would be happy with that.

Perhaps we can catch Citeh up? ;-)

TV GAME: Aston Villa (H) moved - now on BT Sport
suewhistle replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
This is the only rearrangement that has suited me this season, as I have my football club's presentation that evening, but most of the time they're a pain in the a*se, particularly Sunday games. -
I agree, and I think everyone would agree that he's working hard and contributing, even if he's over anxious and snatching at chances. A chant or two at Everton might go down well.
-
'ees sharp, that Trousers is, but he don't half ask some awkward questions..
-
Wonderful, Harry in essence: Mr Redknapp, speaking from Dubai, said: “I just did an advert for them. I don’t know anything about it at all. Not a clue.”
-
Last time I'm paying him a fiver..

Not if you're in one! Had a look and they are really bad, aren't they?

I had a brief chat with a Cherries fan on the train from Brighton on Saturday. He was going to see Saints play with some friends because they couldn't get tickets at Bournemouth, and he explained that their ground only held (was it?) 11K, and the facilities didn't meet Premiership standards. He said there were rumours they might play at St. Mary's, but I've no reason to believe Cherries rumours are any more reliable than Saint's ones!

I was just about to reply to Lou regarding the semantic distinction between t*sser and w*anker and glad to see that she belatedly added 'pl0nker' and 'd1ckhead', as I was about to mention them. These distinctions are sometimes hard to define or explain, such as when a student asked me "What is the difference between 'manky' and 'grotty'?" Anyway, we obviously have different understanding of the phrase 'worked up', or perhaps it really does confirm you don't have a clue about my writing style or why I'm here. PS: Sanding down wood is ducking tedious and this thread, with a cuppa at hand, is still a welcome break!
-
Not sure what this even means, so I won't comment. But as a general point if you don't see why I might want to comment you are remarkably obtuse. There's enough different people coming out with comments here to show the general opinion that he was indeed a sad *anker. This thread is marginally more entertaining than the sanding and varnishing I've got to return to, but I think my next break I'll wander elsewhere.

Who knows how the calculations would work. When St. Marys was built the costings were based (courtesy of Brian Hunt, the director) on crowds of a third each 18k/24k/28k+. Capital is cheaper now, there may be other considerations like tax losses, or converting income streams into fixed assets: gawd knows. I wouldn't be confident of what will happen, let alone be dismissive of other people's views. Inflation this month is 0%, so I'll be interested in how the new season ticket prices pan out. I detect, from the people I know [or eavesdrop in the pub ] rumbles of discontent at the cost - we don't have London salaries. A larger ground would allow price stability, and probably more importantly for the long term, concessions for younger groups. I went to The Dell regularly as a student, and it cost me about the pprice of 3/4 pints. Football has far outstripped the rate of inflation and priced out certain groups. I can (just about) afford Itchen stand prices, but I appreciate the atmosphere a full ground brings and would have no problems with cheaper areas. Looks like we'd better fill the ground on next season's European nights just to help along the decision!
