.. and they poach carp from your local fishery...

Oh come on Pap. I looked at your link and then at Buctootim's and I really don't think is an appropriate response. As you say, your attitude is impacted by your family ties there, and the responding quote is a reasonable way of replying, in my opinion. If you look at the Hampshire figures, they pretty well follow the size of population, and would be as one might expect given the fact Southampton is a reasonably large port with all that sometimes implies. It depends where you are, but I've never felt particularly threatened in Soton, but then I'm tall, older, reasonably fit and walk fast (even when not usually sober after a match).

I also post when I'm drunk. It's embarassing to see afterwards, isn't it?..

Leicester played well, but there was a certain degree of extra physicality and strength to their play which helped them: I think only Adebayo on our side matched them in that department. Slattery - only 16 - and Sims were rather hustled out of it. Our lads never stopped trying to play football, but sometimes could have done with being more direct and less naive in allowing so much space on the edge of the box. Mind you, Chaudry looked a good player, and it'll be interesting to see if we ever see him in their first team; about time somebody who I presume has some Indian/Pakistani ancestry makes it. Nothing to get depressed about there, certainly. We certainly don't just get players who suceed when they are young purely from their physical advantages and early growth.

, that's more like it!

Thank you all. The above is probably the funniest comment though..

That is a very good and succinct summary, I thank you.

OK guys, I'm back from holiday and with about 16 days worth to read. I've checked the League table and my, it's getting tight down there, but apart from that could somebody post a management summary of events in the last fortnight? Just the highlights, like Saints on match of the day..

I've been away a couple of weeks, so have I missed any more Lovren mistakes?
-
As opposed to Harry who off the books?
-
Anything except 0-1...

Ah, it wasn't just me thinking I saw that then...

It was me, I tells ya, it was me! I found a new pub to watch the footie in; next village but actually a closer walk than where I used to go in my village, good beer, open fire, chatty locals and .... 3 wins from 3!! We're meant to be playing tomorrow so I've called it a night, but otherwise I'd still be there. Incidentally, for the Newcastle appeal for handball I thought they'd done one themselves in the lead up?
-
Oooh, so it is, I didn't realise, so that's a few more quid spent down the pub. A quiet night tonight then...

I went to footie training tonight down in Portsmouth: on a school's all weather pitch. My route took me past Roko, with all the 5 a side games in full swing. Can anybody tell me where Pompey's training pitches are? I only ask because there were a couple of full sized movable goals up against a fence, and the pitch they presumably are used on probably had a few Grey Mullet swimming around in the puddles (or puddle, as most of it seemed to be..).. Edit: I may have been looking at the wrong place, but given the appallling state of the pitch at Fratton Park I think I can be excused!

I've never had a hamstring, but a couple of gluteus go, and 'ping' is quite a good way of describing it. Both times I let out unladylike imprecations... Buit there are different levels of seriousness though, so fingers crossed.

I don't know if we can do it for reasons others have outlined, but put it this way, after my skiing holiday I shan't be changing any euros back..

I've had GM injuries twice: once deep in the muscle where I had so much pain and lack of control that I headed the ground with my nose, and earlier this season where I just tore the muscle sheath in training. The second time my recovery was _much_ quicker, so let's hope it's that..

We have a game in hand..
-
I wonder if our very own The9 is at the match today? If so I'm sure we'll get an unbiaised and unvarnished account of the game..

Sorry, difficult to keep up with this thread! The rentaquotes all merge into one..

Andy Townsend to leave ITV (ITV.... that's ITV, not Sky!!)
suewhistle replied to 5string's topic in The Saints
I am. He wasn't bad - originally played for the Terriers - but then it was noticeable that he stopped performing as he was obviously angling for a move, got it and since then has never, to my knowledge, ever mentioned that he played for Saints. -
Heehee: from the Snooze comments: "The Wimbledon fans are not very happy on their site. They also mostly seem to hate Pompey and now Tubbs. Firstly they harboured hopes that he would stay with them so they are disappointed he has left. They are also unhappy that he didn't celebrate his goal against us, proving to them he was always coming here & not them. Now a few of them want to check our finances because they believe we have broke the bank to get him. They are criticising the way the debt has been paid out and they want us relegated. They are scoffing at the comment from Tubbs about not wanting to go to a middle of the table team because they think we are in a relegation fight. I think they may be a tad envious." I suspect not...

That article says " Furthermore, the club [inter] are apparently looking to sell him in January." Thought he was still ours officially and that it was only a loan? So whose problem is he?!

I'd just come on here to post that, but as ever the PTS thread is right up-to-date!
