  1. In a local pub in a village near Portsmouth and I think it's a 4 pint job.. Compliments for the first goal from a couple of pompey fans who went off to their match. No idea who they're playing.. Good football but id prefer a 2 goal margin. Early on in the game I had a moment of panic when I thought I should be at st marys: we looked like the home team and Sunderland come for a point...
  2. After a boring first half the game suddenly got exciting..
  3. What, back to the main board? Oh, ok..
  4. Apologies if it's been discussed, I Haven't got time to read 15 pages, but my question is: Why now? Mid-season, during the transfer window. Is that significant? I'm well aware it's been brewing for a bit but I can't see Cortese resigning at the drop of a hat: it was obviously planned. Ar the Milan offers genuine, did he give a deadline for certain things to happen. Why not the end of the season? B****r.
  5. Asking a question? He always gives me the impression that he thinks he knows everything..
  6. Or possibly this ground; that way they could boast how many travelling fans they have _every_ week... http://www.pyramidpassion.co.uk/Havant_main_stand_front_copyright.jpg
  7. To quote 'Pennies from Heaven': "Think of the pyramids.. NO, not the pyramids" Some of you may remember it...
  8. Blue Square, You'll sooon be in The Blue Square You'll soon be in the Blue Square You all know the tune...
  9. Yep, the last match of the season against MU could be interesting, but for different reasons than last time..
  10. I was on the Brighton train and there were quite a few Pompey supporters on it: why do they all talk like the cast of East Enders and look like people you wouldn't want to meet on a dark night? Anyway, I thought of saying "At least Eastleigh will be a bit nearer next season" as I got off, but I use that train a fair bit and thought better of it...
  11. Yes, that was a shame, and I was impressed how Davis had made up ground to support him. Gaston also drew a couple of fouls in dangerous positions with his touch and acceleration and is definitely playing better. Although Lambert and Rodrigues didn't sparkle Lambert still kept the ball well as usual and Rodriguez - in front of me in the second half I noticed made a number of runs into space on the left without getting the pass. Ultimately I'm just happy with the 3 points; they'll be other games to sparkle in where the opposition don't waste time from - as the kid sat behing me observed in surprise - "right from the start!".
  12. Yep, I did think it was a bit tortuous as an answer.. Perhaps he's said who he'd like _in theory_ and is leaving it to NC... We certainly won't be like WH, so perhaps they meant - we have no intention of getting anyone we don't _really_ want.
  13. No, he's getting to the end of his recovery..
  14. Accompanied by quite genuine and spontaneous laughter from both translator and MP!
  15. MP corrected his translator who thought he might be "on the bench"..
  16. Ah yes, I applied for some "bank" teaching, for which they wanted "Strong personal commitment to the college". Made me and my neighbour laugh, at least.
  17. I thought it amusing how they both laughed spontaneously when asked about Italian press reports re Osvaldo or MP wanting to move etc: "there's a new one every minute and they contradict themselves every hour."
  18. I wonder when Trousers does any work!:-)
  19. I like the comment someone has added.. Ricky?!
  20. Unbelievable, Jeff. just talk to keep the fans happy, and many teams would /like/ Lallana..
  21. Lo and behold, I look at The Guardian text commentary: "63 min: Wham have the ball in City's half. NO hint of a threat but still, though it was worth mentioning. "After Sunday's debacle, Allardyce pointed to tonight's game, saying he'd have a stronger team," recalls Darren Leathley. "Will he try the same gambit with Saturday's game at Cardiff?"
  22. So West Ham were saving themselves on Saturday for tonight? Or are they saving themselves for the league?
  23. The basic saints website is so user unfriendly that I wouldn't hold out any great hopes for a mobile version..
  24. ta!:-) 5 Nutjob demerit points to me.. But did the university say they were making them pay in advance..?
