  1. Anywhere in the PO area? As it's ManU there might be a chance.. :-)
  2. I can help on the skiing and Chianti (indeed most Italian wines..) but Horton Heath remains a mystery to me..
  3. They say that in Elizabethan England they were in a more or less constant tipsy state due to all the small beer they drank - the water being so dodgy. The words flowed from Shakespeare's pen in an alcohol induced haze. I'll have some of whatever Rallyboy is using!:-)
  4. He may read the game better but then he plays a hospital pass or gives the ball away. I think we are all frustrated because we can see his talent but he's just not doing it at the moment. He's actually a decent tackler as well when he puts his mind to it. I'm not sure it's because he doesn't fit MP's style: MP is not Ian Branfoot FFS. But anyone who has played football at _any_ level will know that the more you put in the more you get out. Hopefully the extra training sessions will help and we'll end up seeing Gaston on the OS training gallery pictures looking happy and involved. At the moment the fact that Guly is head of him is a mite worrying...
  5. Thank you Dark Munster, I'm sure you were trying to help....
  6. You, my son, are a true nutjob!
  7. To be honest, I normally need a diagram/family tree to work it out, but incest makes it so much more difficult.
  8. Just reading the French article: interesting question and paragraph on his pairing with Wanyama.
  9. From the Italian word 'nipote': nephew or grandson... :-)
  10. His comment is based on the agenda of the newspaper and that of the OP. Unfortunately there are bastards of every race and we should be aware of that.
  11. K? Fred Kemp
  12. Well, I've been confused for most of this thread, so why change now. It's a tremendous disadvantage having integrity, honesty and being slightly naive... My cynicism helps, of course!
  13. A few posters seem to be reasonably on the ball.. : "The cash flow should have taken into account that this money was to be paid out." Although we'd all like to defer paying our debts, the issue is that Pompey aren't to be trusted in that way. As another poster pointed out: "a football club's cash flow is reasonably predictable over the course of a season and budgets are set accordingly". Except, of course, as any nutjob would point out, this depends on accurate and not over-optimistic predictions and adequate budgetting. If I were a player owed money I'd be a bit worried, and only reassured that the PFA, surprisingly enough, have a charge or two on Fratton Park..
  14. Yes, but who apart from the HNW individuals - who hope to gain the land one day - who the heck is extending them credit?? No bank in their right mind would give them an overdraft, surely? Where's their workingday-to-day capital coming from? There can't be any small businesses left to be shafted? Sorry about the rhetorical questions, but I'm still amazed at their survival.
  15. Spurs goal difference been done a power of good (for us) by West Ham. :-)
  16. I had to do a medical to play competitive footie, and one of the tests was lung capacity: "I can see you don't smoke" said the doctor, looking at the results. I might not last 90 minutes (although I had to last season) but I wouldn't be playing at all if I'd ever smoked. Probably drink a bit too much though, but then I pay to play!
  17. I hope so.. Southampton is not a fantastic city, but at least they'll serve you in Wetherspoons and there is not the underlying tension there was last night with security staff and police everywhere. In all my years I've never been refused service, and none of our small group were drunk or even noisy. I put my best posh, formal and mild mannered voice on to complain, but you can't argue with ****holes. I'll wash the nasty taste away after the Swansea game...
  18. Are you a **** in absolutely every post you make on here? It's a remarkable record. Perhaps it comes naturally or maybe you do a fair bit of training. I admire your consistency, in any case...
  19. Just got back from a night out in Portsmouth with the 18s and over from my footie team. Jeez - how depresssing, with arsehole doorstaff, and our coach not being allowed in to a couple of places. The place is grim and, as proved by my visit to Fatpipe Park the other week, falling apart.
  20. Whilst I agree with a lot of what you say it should be pointed out that although MU's turnover is massive they were bought by the Glazers in a leveraged buyout; an expensive purchase with expensive (due to the risk) _borrowed_ money. The Leibherrs bought Saints cheaply from their own resources so I reckon they've got more room to manoeuvre, even if the profit motive ultimately remains the same.
  21. By what someone is prepared to pay for him. In addition to your criteria: potential, ability to contribute to the _new_ team, and probably a few other things besides, like league position! But if it helps you feel better by all means talk about grannies stinking of wee [charming] and . We are undoubtedly all disappointed about his performances, but most of us are probably thankful that you aren't in charge of motivating players at St. Mary's.
  22. Probably?
  23. Any update on this?
  24. They were all fat and smelly too. One of the team mums who came said she had to move because they smelt so much!
  25. Yep, I was there tonight, and very good value it was at £1.50 for a group ticket through my footie team. I didn't risk the loos, but gawd, it's a dump, although possibly not too bad for a fourth division or conference team. But it is falling apart... our goalkeeper sat on one of the tip up seats and it fell apart under her. Evidence available on my phone.. :-) Bit unfortunate if that's a regular season ticket holder's seat as it'll probably take them a bit of time to repair it... There was a load of Fenerbahce Ultras making a tremendous racket and adding to the atmosphere, and what do you know, unlike TCWTB, their drummer could actually play.
