Is it a south American site, as the language is Italian? I'll go and and have another nose on some Italian sites.
-
You'd probably have to fight off Pilchards!
-
Such as..?
-
I note he doesn't say which game he uses..
-
They did use the word 'shambolic' though, so I think that makes up for it..
-
What appalling defending. I'd get bawled out by my keeper if I allowed someone that much room in the box.
-
I noticed when he came off it gave the distance he'd covered at 7 kilometres something. Not long after an Italian was substituted and he'd done 9k+. Not sure how the others compared, but the bits I saw were generally c**p.
-
But in which direction?
-
Lucky he didn't come from Scu.... oh, blow it, you know...

I've had a brief look at the Italian sites and now it would appear Rubin Kazan are also interested in Astori, but the mention of Saint's interest has at least been consistent for some time. Who knows, it'll all come out in the wash, and it's not worth fretting about it too much. I see we've been linked with Hooper again. Think I'll come back in a month and see what's happened..

Ramirez, his first season, how good has he been?
suewhistle replied to Barry Sanchez's topic in The Saints
Pretty fair summary, I'd say, although I could perhaps think of another to add to your list. It's not the opinions that worry me, although I think some people do take up certain positions just to be contrary, but it's the style and way -often rather nasty - in which those opinions are expressed. FWIW I do think Ramirez needs to produce more next season, but some people here do seem prepared to write off the investment very quickly. Pretty short term thinking, and if it were applied in their place of employment would lead to appalling staff turnover, with all that implies. -
Can't see it mentioned elsewhere, but an article in The Grauniad today about Prem transfer targets: http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/blog/2013/may/31/summer-transfer-targets-premier-league

Yep: proof-reading and typing 'n all! I shall be submitting my CV to St. Mary's soon: all those new foreign players and a teacher who can do lessons with her football boots on!
-
Wasn't it Terry Hurlock, who in his match day programme profile said, in the "Greatest Dislike" section: "a dodgy pint"...:-)
-
Keep us informed Dunc, lots of us here are interested.. PS: Regarding that fourth goal at OT: surely it would be given to him these days: it was going in and neither the defender or Saul really had anything to do with it...

You on mumsnet Bearsy? Aaargh, at the very thought!
-
Yeah! Prove it by perhaps telling us the whole sordid story of how you got to be banned as I seem to have missed it. You did a service on here warning me off reading sclerotic fiction by your (somewhat sexist) book review, so I feel sort of immoral obligation to speak up for you. It does seem strange: you can't say what you really think about Turkish, Alpine or CB effingFry even though it might be perfectly true..

..and then I saw the video put up by Saint_clark and my eyes are all wet and I'm sniffing like mad..

Just seen your post. Oh, please do! I'll be playing my last game on Sunday, but if I play in attack or come up for a corner I'll ask Ron for a hand in getting my head to the ball..
-
C****t, that brings back memories. It's sad news: I can't remember indivdual games from that time, although I do remember a slightly overweight RDs in The Cowherds when I was a student at SU. I still play, and my defensive headers aren't bad, but if only I had the leap and the timing of big Ron. It's a shame he couldn't make it over these last few years: I think the roar from us old fogies would have delighted him no end.

Thanks guys, keep us informed. -
So that should imrove the odds if you're betting on relegation?:-)

What _are_ you talking about?
-
Is that annual and including the stadium expansion? /ducks/ ;-) Any purchase of players is going to ammortised over more than a year, so depending on the capital cost versus wages we may well spend more than £30m on actual purchase costs. Bear in mind we're still catching up from being in L1 a very short time ago. We can certainly improve on this year's position with the existing players, even if that well-known footballing expert on this thread has written off Ramirez already... I wonder how the Astori transfer is coming along, I wonder if that will keep him happy?

Surely it should be "my mate, who is a taxi driver"? Christ, it's going to be a long summer...
