  1. Easy mistake to make, as they've all been asked to bring their boots (and a £10 match fee).
  2. Quite. I personally don't see myself living long enough to see a 58k stadium, but CBFry (and a few others maybe) definitely won't. He'll have had an apopalectic, frothing at the mouth fit when the first cranes move in. His last words probably: "utterly ridiculous"....
  3. B***dy time consuming!
  4. That's what I thought at the time. He was going with him and then decided he could get to the ball first but misjudged the flight. Whether as a forward or as a defender I've always tried to attack the ball in the box. It was a superb header though, and we were unlucky to concede.
  5. Off skiing so I'll read it later. I'm sure some nutjob has saved it!:-)) Edit: still there 30 secs ago 8.34 mt time...
  6. Is he wearing a red and white stripy jumper?
  7. I'm afraid the TV game over here on Saturday is Newcastle -Chelsea and I very much doubt that any bars bother to stream anything. Still, you never know, maybe even a bar with very fast internet, wi-fi and your tablet... http://www.yelp.com/search?cflt=sportsbars&find_loc=Roma%2C+Lazio
  8. Wow. One quick post as there is the annual festa here in town: I missed the first half and now off out again until the early hours, but from what I saw from 65 minutes on... giving Manchester United a real squeaky bum time. What happened to Punch and Gaston? Fox played solidly from what I saw. One of the more positive defeats I can remember, and if we continue to play like that and add a bit of penetration to our possession.. well, I'll be a happy bunny.
  9. When I looked just now County had 64% of the possession..
  10. Calciomercato yesterday were still musing on the possibility of Zarate from Lazio: there have been a few issues between club and player and "given these suppositions a transfer of Zarate to Southampton doesn't seem impossible'. Hmm, 2+2=5, I feel. Not impossible but...
  11. I suspect Spanish is similar to Italian. If someone says 'sei mito' it means 'you're a star', a legend. Probably 'legendary' would be a better translation. edit for grammar - aargh!
  12. Yes, I understand fillets would be useless...
  13. I did like the "Kanu lift" bit! Incidentally, Steve Grant, I've paid my subs, can you update my membership. Wouldn't want to only have three posts if it started to get interesting again.
  14. No, it b***dy won't be. Stop trying to make strawman arguments just so that you can fulminate against them. Of course they have to investigate, a man has died. Prossibly a very stupid and desperate one, possibly a nasty piece of work, but I'm prepared to wait for the investigation. I'd still be prepared to grab somebody's leg or arm if it had happened to me, and all bets would be off if I were in a rape situation.
  15. It's all 'Arry's plan to concentrate on the league, and make a bit with a bet on the side...
  16. I remember Townsend engineered a move from us by deliberately playing sh*te, after we'd lifted him out of non-league at Weymouth. Don't watch much TV but you're right, it's never mentioned.
  17. Who are you taking as Beauty?
  18. It's about 10 times _more_ expensive... we have a chance!
  19. 'Ows about 'poco'? Means little or not very much in Italian, and similar in Spanish, I believe. The 'o' is long: can't be a***d with phonetic symbols this time of morning...
  20. It's quite obvious that Hazard kicked him in ribs with the toe of his boot: don't think he was feigning at all, you could see the impact on the screen. It looked like firstly the kid slipped, he probably wasn't rushing to get up and then Hazard makes a bad situation worse by pushing - in the process delaying and disrupting the game more than if he'd waited for the ball-boy to get his act together. Idiot all round, and he was smirking before he got his red card. WTFISN
  21. I think Rallyboy is referring to the _non-footballing_ entertainment they provide...
  22. Back from various bars, one of which was showing the match earlier: I can't tell you where because if I do Turkish will start bullying me, but the local commentators were pretty complimentary about Saint's first half perfomance. Previously I'd thought Everton were quite a good side, but they didn't show much in the first half - we didn't let them. Certainly they had to be better in the second, and so it proved. We'd all have liked three points, but in the circumstances a point is still useful, plus a morale booster against a pretty unambitious Everton. Why would they be like that? Perhaps we should credit our team for not letting them perform.
  23. Can't help, but hope you've got your avalanche transceiver, poles and shovel ready!
  24. Now that was professional! I bet that as soon as the camera stopped rolling she collapsed on the floor...
