2010 Toulon Tournament - Live on Eurosport (18th May - 27th May)
suewhistle replied to Matthew Le God's topic in The Saints
One of the 'tators commented that he was a bit quiet towards the end, but I reckon that's because he tends to let the ball do the work and his team-mates weren't finding the space so well. He certainly wasn't lacking in getting behind the ball and i think he was just using his experience to calm things down: he didn't look tired as some of the others did. -
As has been pointed out, it was cancelled. But phoning Portsmouth supporting friends from my village this evening just to keep in touch (no, I didn't gloat..) I was told it was because there was a big fight between Pimply fans at the big screen on the common during the final!
-
Anyway, I have a St. Georges Cross which came in useful as a theme for my english lessons on 23rd April. It's staying back in the drawer unless we make the semis or final, in which case it'll get an outing down the bar. If we win (hah!) I'll fly it from my fourth floor window!

He played well. Good goal, some excellent passing and positional play, and some real snap in his tackles (and the usual pointless booking). The commentators commented on his, just about, one misplaced pass towards the end, "the first one" they noticed. -

Nah, you've got me so wrong. The only iron I use is the one for waxing my skis and I don't even own a telly. Mind you, i did just remember to get my footie boots out as they need a good end of season clean. -
Depends where they go in Switzerland but as I'm right on the border it might be possible to make a day trip of it. Food and drink isn't bad value apart from in the top places. If you find out any more details of where and when can you let me know by PM: I don't need to know who told you! Ta.

No, I think that was the last day I went skiing this year, but if I'd been there and knew it was you that I was annoying it would quite have made my day. Now lets make two true sentences using the noun c**t and the two verbs to have and to be and apply them to you and me. That will give you my opinion of you. Thank you. -

4 decades, hah, and some! He might have sorted out the incontinence but not the frothing at the mouth and the rocking back and forwards. Look, people who struggle to find £400 (and I know quite a number) don't generally want to pay before they have to. Connected with the real world, my arse. -
Bear in mind also that Club A already has it's own training ground...
-
You'd think they'd pay up Pullis and Molyneux, can't be too much I'd have thought. As it is they're just getting in the way. Do they actually still train, if so they must be taking up valuable coaching time, hot water in the showers and wearing out the training pitches.

Yeah. If they can't manage a bank account perhaps they should get a piggy bank, or ask their carer or guardian to manage their money.. -

Last year the first game in L1 was on the 8th August, so if this year's is the equivalent weekend it would be the 7th: ie the following Saturday in which case it would be the TBT I'd assume. But did they start earlier last year due to the World Cup - dunno? -
That would have been BArdolino, like the wine, talking of which it would be good for some winery visits. You've got Bardolino with their red, but the rose Chiaretto can be very refreshing, there's Bianco di Custozza and at the bottom of the lake Lugana which I reckon is about the only wine made by the high yielding Trebbiano to be worth drinking. Not far either from Soave and Valpolicella but spend a little more on those two as some of the stuff from the plains is awful. Er.. where were we, something to do with the red and whites, I think. Definitely a consensus for Northern Italy. Incidentally, it's not the heat that gets you, it's the humidity. Last season we played a game near Turin at the beginning of June due to winter postponements: I played a half and have never been so drained.

What sort of crowds do BC get? I reckon RL must be getting a taste for 20 - 30k crowds now!
-
Great story, Phil. We won't ask what happened in the end to your son! Oh yes, another fend-off the gigolo problem would be "Sorry, I'm a football player"..(which is true) or I suppose for a US cultural reference .. "Sorry, I'm a softball player". :-)
-
Ta for that DB even if you can't be more explicit. If I were in that position (I presume there isn't such a big gigolo problem..) I'd just say, "Sorry, I'm an English teacher", and they'd leave for somebody else with money... Bit worried about they - "normally" - clear off!
-
No. The PL punished them for going into administration. The FL will punish them for not having their CVA sorted out in time.:-) (And maybe also for numerous other reasons: unaudited accounts, shadow directors, and anything else that relates to the FL's need to guarantee why the club should be allowed their golden share.)
-
They were actually taking the ****, although admittedly it's sometimes difficult to tell on this board!
-
..... or at least have some interesting insights.... http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2010/may/16/dubai-sex-tourism-prostitution Jeez, and they call the British hypocritical!
-
Does anybody remember when the detailed CVA is going to be presented, and how long before it is voted on, how long the HMRC have before any potential appeal and by when do the FL need the CVA agreed if they are not going to deduct points? Gawd, it's confusing, but I think it's just about to get a lot more interesting.... Edit: I see the CVA is being presented on Friday.. still not sure of the rest of the dates.

Thanks for that, and from all of us in various places in the world who don't get to see MOTD! It was also good to see the running off the ball, the number of players in the box and the following up so that when the ball ran loose it was a Saints player who got there first. When I last had a season ticket about 5 years ago all of those were notable for their absence.
