I know, I know, seems odd saying that.. Chuckle.. When does Bruce leave? Who takes over the poisoned chalice?
-
Why? Have you seen him in training?
-
I just love Tella's smile, it makes you want to smile too.

I posted this link elsewhere on Saintsweb but I think it's probably more appropriate to cross-post it here: https://www.theguardian.com/football/2021/oct/14/mike-dean-quiz-premier-league-referee 😀

cUnacceptable inconsistency and appalling standard of referees
suewhistle replied to cambsaint's topic in The Saints
Since Mike Dean gets quite a number of mentions here, let's see how you all get on with this quiz :-) : https://www.theguardian.com/football/2021/oct/14/mike-dean-quiz-premier-league-referee -
I don't dispute some of the facts of what you're saying, but I think Victor Orban and the like have more influence on the situation than England fans "stirring up hostility". My comments were more on the one-sidedness of your post in ignoring the Hungarian fans' behaviour, and ignoring _their_ real hatred and violent behaviour. None of it is acceptable.
-
Well, there's a certain degree of accuracy in his statement, don't you think, whatever you may think of the England fan? As opposed to the Hungarian ultras who have total and active contempt for anybody non-white. I've been at England matches both here and abroad and have been embarrassed by our fans behaviour, but in this instance perhaps you could reconsider the only target of your attack?

Wince.. Mind you, Dowie scored a few goals ISTR. Paul Moody from Waterlooville, bless, couldn't fault him for effort though. Lee Powell.. ooof.
-
Blimey! Not sure that's anything about supply though, he made it all himself.

This made me chuckle, the Leicester City fan's comment on the season so far in The Guardian: "What I wouldn’t give to have prime Wes Morgan in that defence. But to be frank, any former centre-back would do."
-
.. "some of my best friends are Jewish".. You may or may not get the cultural reference..
-
True, but.. Rather sums up the situation. I think they learn some decent habits at Saints, and Sims, Hesketh and others have been well regarded for their skills when they go out on loan (Dan probably being an exception!) but unless they get into or close to the team early on perhaps loans earlier on would help too. We've had experience of late developers like Lambert, and let go of others who have succeeded (Ben White and others..) so all we can safely say is that it's not an exact science. On the other hand, anybody who saw Stevie Mills, Bale, Bridge, and now Livramento in their early games could immediately see that they had something.

I suggest you edit your typo! 🙂

Thanks for the report negium. They're certainly at a different level to teams like Keynsham particularly with regard to fitness. I'd hazard that they train a lot more than such teams who may only have one evening session a week and have difficulty fielding a side occasionally because a youngster is doing a shift at the supermarket or the like. Their number 6 (?) for example was physically and fitness wise more like some of the older defenders down where I play low in the Hampshire League and the scores can be equally wince making - we've been crushed, flattened another team with our better fitness in a second half and had one much more satisfying game where the teams were equally matched but we started with 10 because somebody was late arriving from her supermarket shift! They need to get to that higher level with better teams and better football. I'm sure the manager is keeping their feet on the ground for when the get there.

Good stream on Hesgoals... bu&&er it..

Problem with some of these threads is that you have to read a fair bit to understand the situation and like myself and many others you probably don't bother so I'm sure Minsk understands that. Plus if you ignore some posters it makes it even more an 'er, what?' situation!
-
Whitey, that was Minsk being sarcastic and maybe you were too. It's hard to tell on here! There are certainly plenty of conspiracy theorists here when a player is out. When he does get back he'll add a different aspect to our play with his carrying of the ball in the final third. I sometimes think Livramento has the pace and ability to do something similar.

Comment on Mike Dean in The Guardian football preview: "... Although if you had to back any official to do so, it would be Ronaldo’s fellow preening narcissist, Mike Dean." So it's a general opinion of him then..

It's a pretty quick service although not so frequent on Sundays and thank goodness there's no replacement bus nonsense this weekend. I shall be on the train: do I look out for a long white beard?

I'm also anti-Brexit, and energy trading in the European market has been impacted by it, but it's also the case that the current energy crisis is worldwide. We certainly could do with a windy autumn in the UK.

Enron? Plenty of US fracking companies have gone bust in the recent past due to lowering prices, leaving their pollution behind for others to pay for. With the upsurge in prices I'm sure they'll be some phoenix companies around to do the whole thing over again..

Dryden had a certain honest crapness about him..

He at least seems more aware than Hoedt as he acknowledges that is was a difficult game against Sheffield, and in some ways it was a useful introduction to English football as it gives him a measure of what is needed. Didn't one of the Saints fans on the night say it looked as if he was blowing a bit quite early on in the game? So now he knows what he has to do we can judge him again after a bit more time on the pitch. If he improves like Salisu has then we can all be a lot happier.

My mum is with Green, so I popped down this morning and took readings and photographs as well, which I think is a good idea more generally. Still not sure what happens next but mum is too old to worry about it all so I need to wander off and do some research..

True dat, but my near neighbours in the terrace offer me wood and kindling, so reckon I won't get complaints there and at least I'm not taking gas away from them. It helps to burn efficiently with seasoned wood. All mine is scrounged and processed myself and I work 2/3 years ahead. Trousers is obviously posh 'coz he actually buys wood! I'm with Octopus who are well financed. They are also good at their calculations for hedging and fixing futures so hope they'll be OK. All the companies do this based on their own consumers, which is why they will be objecting to taking on new customers for which they cannot haven't calculated and can only supply based on buying in expensive power from the wholesale market. I was on Octopus Agile and still have the app which shows me the half hour prices which are based on the wholesale market and even though they are capped at 33p they are frankly horrendous all through the 24 hours. We need the autumn gales as soon as possible! Edit: you've reminded me I need to get the sweep in. Last three years he's been round, had a look and told me it doesn't need sweeping..
