But immuno-compromised people, and there's plenty of young ones, are going to be second class citizens anyway and will be relying on others to get the jab to reduce the chances of infection. In the same way I am wearing a mask still in crowded indoor places because it offers a reassurance to other people that I'm being responsible. With the extension of the vaccination programme to younger age groups I wouldn't be so concerned about the younger groups, unless they're stupid enough to think they won't be affected and become a risk to others.

Which one has had the lucky escape then?

I'd be inclined to keep him. Given the financial risk of relegation, plus the extra millions for a couple of places in the table set against ~20 million and a cut to Liverpool the risk of losing him for nothing doesn't seem so bad. Although the club's finances are bad at least we will be getting rid of the Forsters and Leminas of this world who we have been paying to play for other clubs. The club will be working on much better information than an internet forum and will no doubt be weighing all these aspects up. Money seems to be tight all round - no spending at Everton yet, for example, so this is a difficult transfer window to call. The club haven't got much money, but by the looks of it we're not the only ones drawing in our belt.

Bu**er, I saw a post by Turkish because I hadn't logged in. Yes Turkish, I lived in Italy for a while and sometimes make posts based on my knowledge. But not for a long time. You, on the other hand seem to make the point regularly, just so you can use it as a point to make against me. It might have been amusing once, but it long ago took on the form of bullying, just like your crass reference to me wearing dungarees. I appreciate you don't like anybody not like you, and you don't like the idea of equality or at least people getting uppity because they have expressed their feelings. You probably don't even like yourself, which is understandable.

I know a traditional jig tune called 'Cock up your beaver', which the historians amongst you will understand refers to the tipping of your hat, made from beaver skin. In other news I see that our dear PM and friends are still deludedly talking about a 2030 World Cup bid, Cressida Dick is happy with the Met's plan for last Sunday and the FA, who have responsibility for staging the event have said sod all.. In further not news to anybody on here it's good to see that Hypo, LD, Turkish and a few others are at least consistent in their views that equality and concern about it are a bad thing.

Now I _know_ you're joking..;-)

What's the situation with Crystal Palace, they seem to have as few players under contract as Portsmouth..? I had a Newcastle United article come up on my feed and they haven't signed anyone yet, are said to have a budget set by Ashley of £10m and have lost Willock who made such an impact for them on loan from Arsenal last season. So whilst I share the general concern about Saints at least there are fans from other clubs similarly worrying!
-
Better than Portsmouth then? He certainly hasn't got the skill/touch we expect, so I hope the toughening up process of playing first team football in L1, no doubt beneficial, is accompanied by extra tuition on control and touch.

LOL. Ok guys, I get the message. š

I think balance of payment is needed by tomorrow. I've just paid for mine and circumstances permitting I'll be going. Our concourses are pretty well ventilated anyway, compared with crowded pubs and I'll probably wear a mask like @kwsaint. I haven't yet addressed the issue of the pre-match meet up and pint as my friends are even more decrepit than I am. Just hope the fitness from being probably the only pensioner playing in the Hampshire County Women's League gives me some measure of protection!

I haven't had any reminder but as it happens I went into my account only last night and it says, for the various types (renewal, new, etc.) the timetable. Renewals are to be paid by the 15th July. At least the hit wasn't so bad as I used the balance left from last season as a sort of savings account! Might be a good idea to check your own account.
-
Really, that bad? Have to say that the name hasn't impinged on my consciousness before but then I don't watch much other football.

The last two posts sum up the dilemma really. I'd probably prefer to keep Lemina and hoik him for Smallbone or similar if he shows signs of having one of 'those' games on Danbert's basis that he can potentially be good but Mo never has. Has his time at Celtic helped him: presumably we will see in pre-season, and Ralph will be watching them with a particularly beady eye..?

Sod me, the apologists are out in force today.

First time I've been on this thread and I don't normally buy shirts; the last I got was free via a local wholesaler dishing out shirts for large spends. The orange goalkeeper shirt looks a good bet for when I'm out locally running errands on my bicycle: always good to be highly visible!

Jannik Vestergaard - Official: Signs for Leicester
suewhistle replied to ChiefScummer's topic in The Saints
Whilst I tend to agree that he should be better, particularly last season defensively, the photo above jumping with Kane shows that he can do it. I've always thought that it's his timing, not his actual jumping ability, that is lacking a bit. -
Did you have to? š I remember Branfoot on the matter.. I seem to recall Redknapp playing well when he wasn't injured and yes, Hughes was deeply disappointing wherever he was playing. There are players who continue to show their class as they age - Sheringham of course, and Hately showed it for Portsmouth at Alan Knight's testimonial, but best you don't remind us of some of those above!

Looks like a poem by Les Barker...

I've not had the pleasure of listening to Sam Matterface, but listening to Dead Ringers on Radio 4 they had a sketch featuring a Harry Kane saying the worse thing about the game was 90 minutes and then extra time listening to SM.. So the opinion expressed here seems pretty universal! -

"Stop pretending Iām on ignore you weirdo" Whoops, thanks for reminding me I wasn't logged in. š Pity JWP wasn't on the pitch.. /ducks and grins/

I've been messaging my Italian friends and there's celebrating and fireworks there. Doesn't surprise me: I was living there in 2006 at the time of the WC and that was manic! (ISTR...)

As long as JWP still gets to take the free kicks over Ronaldo..
