  1. Looked a bit empty at the start but we now know why! I used a friend's ticket: I still haven't received mine and didn't fancy a long queue based on how I've been feeling recently. I'm now feeling a lot more positive about the season: Livramento a revelation, Armstrong looks like he'll be a real nuisance to opposition defences, Perraud will be fine once he adapts to the physical demands. I saw him looking to the bench before he went down with cramp, but he was doing some great covering and forward runs. The thought occurred to me that KWP was on the bench because he can play both sides and we demand a lot of our fullbacks: what a change to have a decent sub available. Our aerial deficiencies apart I thought we had a lot more bite to our game. Having decent options off the bench also helped. Not sure what we do about Djenepo but it's always fun to guess what he's going to do! With Salisu and the new arrivals we do seem to have a bit more pace in the side. I'd dearly like us to upset Mike Ashley next week: the Newcastle fans are fine, but sorry guys..
  2. Is Maguire a top CB?? He looked uncertain yesterday and I even commented to a seat neighbour that we seemed to be targetting him with our pressing. I'd agree with all the comments about our weakness in the air though.
  3. I didn't see it but he featured heavily (and not in a good way) in the match report I read. I presume Bertrand and Vestergard are injured: neither on the bench tonight?
  4. Everybody else realised they changed their mind as they did a quick post on their phone. Why don't you see if you can work out the two potential phrases by yourself?
  5. Except they didnt come up with any solution, or apologise, or make any contingency. No fan has wished the club to fail on this, but they have.. I reckon you're on your own with your view.
  6. My breakfast beer today is Adnams Ghost Ship..😁
  7. I've just been given a lift to Southampton so a bit earlier than I would have liked but walking past Yates the bouncers are outside and they told me people are already in there drinking. Sheesh.. One way of not seeing a heavy defeat, I suppose..
  8. Saturday post has arrived.. **** it!
  9. Just tried to email the club and Thunderfox froze my computer.. If anybody has any contacts could you phone them and refer them to this thread? Edit: Ta, Spitz
  10. Post has just turned up. Anyone care to guess...? Then my neighbour came round with a misdelivered letter... My car insurance documents.. I'm trying to recall if we ever get post on Saturday. Is The Echo aware of this shambles? Does anyone have Martin Semmens' phone or email? Is the person who signed the contract looking for a new job?
  11. Duckie confirms why the jokes about him are being made..
  12. I do my best amongst the heathens..
  13. Post has arrived, credit card bill, Farm Foods leaflet, my Private Eye (late), but no season ticket... Mind you, I am in a PO area..
  14. "Are being sent out".. not 'were' or 'have been'... Why do I get a nervous feeling about all this? I'll post when (if?) I get mine..
  15. He quoted what he was replying to: is that so difficult to understand. And yes, there has been violence and reprisals. Women, particularly educated women, are in fear all over the country.
  16. Well, just done my half time prayer.. I was surprised KWP wasn't playing but I recall he got a knock in the last friendly and Livramento has had a stormer. Armstrong scoring on his debut may not mean 3 points if my prayers fail, but it'll do wonders for his confidence: we all saw how Che took a bit of time to get going when he missed a few. Walcott hasn't done too much but he's done defensive cover well. We're still not fully clicking - I agree with the comment that JWP is not 100% - but we've still got Diallo and Stewie on the bench.
  17. See thread below...
  18. You'll definitely get asked "Do you want a bar of chocolate with that?"
  19. See also the reply I got regarding Newcastle tickets.. "tickets for away fixtures normally get released around a month before the actual fixture."..
  20. I've had it too. Thought it might be connected with going on the site this evening to check my ST status, but obviously not. I don't blame you for being cautious though.
  21. He's better than Dan Nduludu?
  22. So I emailed the ticket office regarding the Newcastle game and got this reply: Perhaps someone can ring up, I've lost the will..
  23. It's not Kevin Enemy, is it?
  24. So it's not just my opinion then.. Perhaps Bertrand going will improve that side of the pitch. It's understandable to wait in certain circumstances, but we _never_ made use of the quick throw.
  25. He was on the bench and didn't get on for YB the other day, I noticed.
