i seem to recall watching him playing for Notts at the Rose Bowl few seasons ago, last game of the Sunday League/John Player League/Pro40 or whatever it was called in those days and goading him "you'll never play for England" after Udal had been picked to go to India. Of course he took a wicket soon after and give it a bit of "shush look at my name" etc to us, thought he was OK but fair play to him has continued to grow and grow as a player. i love a sicillian opening used to play all the time as a nipper, ma n pa brought me an electronic chess game inside 2 weeks i'd beaten it on all levels. altho i think the levels didnt actually increase in difficulty the machine just took longer to think. i say that as i could beat it inside 7 moves on every level. it was a primitive bit of kit, hence my awsome skillz were able to "do it"... not played for donkeys, might have a look online for some software...
