My parents are both WHU 'supporters', although they haven't been since the 80's. This left me in the unfortunate spot of not having any sensible footballing advice as a child. I started off with 'liking' Man Utd because of Peter Schmeichel, Ryan giggs and Paul scholes. Luckily when I moved to the area when I was 8, I made friends with 3 saints fans and was hooked immediately. This despite my mother's advice to follow portsmouth as it would be cheaper. Lucky that I mostly ignored her advice through my life, even as a 10 year old.

I'm not really attention seeking, I don't post on here often enough to bother. It's just been winding me up the amount of pointless new threads started every day, which are unrealistic and without substance. I think people forget that we're not a huge club in this league, we're not going to attract players that premiership sides are coming in for.

Was just 2 very different examples of players who won't come to saints any time soon. Just a dig at these ridiculous threads about unrealistic transfer targets really.

How does being realistic make me naive?

Due to wages, cost, ego, wanting premier league football etc. I'll start: Jermaine beckford - £5m+, £30k+ wages, ego problem. Carlos Tevez - £50m+, £150k+ wages, probably wants champions league football.

I've heard that Carlos Tevez could be available for £50 million plus £150,000 p/w wages. Is this realistic/relevant enough to warrant a new thread? I just don't see the point in clogging up the forum with several threads about players who are obviously not going to come here. Do we need a ridiculous new thread every time someone thinks we should sign a player from the PL, even without any reason to suspect we might be doing so? Danns will NOT leave Birmingham City to go to a team newly promoted into the NPC, when offers are coming in from the prem. Why would he?

Great day out, despite the result. I don't usually like to moan about officials, but I think they've cost us this one. The 3rd goal was such a blatant foul. Who knows what would have happened but we deserved at least a point. I would be embarrassed to be a Leicester fan. Out-sung all game despite being ahead for 93 minutes, stealing Man Citeh's **** celebration, and singing our song. All in all I'm disappointed, but was proud of the lads and fans for putting up such a great fight. Kaspar schmeichel MOTM.
