Something to bring a smile to you face in troubled times

They must have ran out of booze in Holland. George obviously wasn't impressed. Got a feeling a few will be left out of the next squad... -
if the fa dont give us a 10 point hit...

Will the same sculptor who designed the first Ted Bates statue be designing it? In that case i'm up for it. Maybe it can be stoned like they do on the pilgramage? I doubt we will get away with it, the league are likely to close the loophole. Won't be surprised if it costs us dear. We may appeal, appeal to the appeal, sue, appeal to that sue, appeal to the next appeal and then sue that appeal, but the legal system sucks so don't expect anything out of it. -
Like finally getting out of a swimming pool that's a little too cold, and falling in to that lovely jacuzzi. All that's left is for the bubbles to come on (Wilde needs to press the button on the way out)

It all looks very bleak. Hasn't really sunk in yet, as I feel that it the news of administration and points deduction (this or NEXT season) will be imminent. The worst possible scenario is relegation and -10+ next year. This is what is going to happen IMO. Screwed. Its as if i'm finally about to lose grip of something i've been gripping to for years. Like a clifftop. Hanging on by the fingernails. Knowing your due to drop.

Bad result. Other teams have been beating QPR recently... a win would have given us a huge boost, seeing us out the bottom 3. But its not over, we must beat Blackpool, or form me we are bust. Going 4 games without a win would certainly have the high feeling GONE and we would probably step back into our old form. I am left dissappointed and annoyed I have to wait another week for the next installment!!!
-
Its away at United, so all that will do is worsen their goal difference!!! In a way, a demise of the skates would certainly cushion our fall.

as someone who is refereeing in Australia I know that some clubs narrow the pitch some part during the season due to the line the linesman runs wearing down the pitch, creating a "gully" like the edge of a ten pin bowling lane for the ball to roll down, so not going out. Linesmen aren't meant to run on the line but behind it, although a lot of linesmen will still do it as this is what was taught until a few years ago.

I actually feel that we have less of a chance of staying up, certainly compared to after Ipswich. We have to beat 2 of the teams above us to stay up, of which, in my opinion, one will be currently standing 5 points ahead of us. I said before Derby we needed 4 points from 6, ie if we beat QPR we are on track. BUT if we lose to Blackpool I assure you the fat lady will have her roadies out testing that microphone.

At the end of the day it comes down to what we do, and what we have to do now is win our next 2 games. If we do this, I think we could go into the Blackpool game with a chance of getting out of the relegation zone. Lets hope one loss doesn't kickstart a terrible end to the season, and hopefully the team will pick the performance up a notch for the home support and continue to make amends and save our season!!! If we fail to win any of our next 2 games (2 points or less), then we are relegated.
-
Put it in the net FFS we need something just to keep up the storming run - it will help upcoming performances if we don't lose!!!
-
Agree, but we need a top half run of form throughout the rest of the entire season to stay safe. We can never take it easy until maths says we can.
-
Doesn't look good again, despite the 3 wins. I never got excited, still think we will drop. We needed more than 3 wins, unfortunately Wotte is feeling the brunt of the damage done by Poortvliet... although, what if the form was a fluke? What if we lose our next 5. We will want Wotte out again. Never make conclusions in football. COYR we need goals

Plymouth - 51 Barnsley - 49 Southampton - 48 Notts Forest - 47 BLACKPOOL - 45 NORWICH - 44 CHARLTON - 44 Birmingham 2-1 Saints Saints 1-1 Derby Saints 1-2 QPR Blackpool 2-2 Saints Saints 1-0 Charlton Watford 2-1 Saints Wolves 1-1 Saints Saints 1-1 Palace Sheff Wed 3-0 Saints Saints 1-0 Burnley Notts Forest 2-2 Saints 2 wins, 5 draws, 4 defeats and we stay up!!! may have been a bit harsh on us, as well as norwich and blackpool looking back at it... but im surprised with those results I had us safe (reading 1st, sheff utd 2nd, brum 3rd, wolves 4th, cardiff 5th, bristol 6th)

It is so vital that we carry on getting win after win after win. And Wotte has verbally impressed me so far so no doubt he will be hammering this into the players minds. We go to Birmingham on Saturday with a great chance of a win. If we play like we can we can do it, and how great would it be to be out of the bottom 3! My fear is we might stop picking up the wins when we get out of the bottom 3. It was something that happened to teams at the end of last season if you remember, because around now it becomes partially a mental game.

I am not yet won over by a possible great escape, although my opinions of Mark Wotte are starting to turn for the better. Why was this man kept in Poortvliet's shadow? What a useless decision someone made there... What I thought was a nice touch by Wotte today was subbing off Euell near the end, the standed ovation he no doubt recieved from our fans will only help boost his and the teams confidence, Wotte also did this with Saganowski v Preston and it certainly is a nice way to let a player who has done specifically well in a game get a seperate round of a applause. So 3 wins in a row. And we are still cast adrift at the bottom 3! Imagine if we hadn't turned the form!!! I have to stress that we cannot rest. The last 3 wins were a must, not a bonus. The match against Birmingham is still a game we HAVE to win to keep up with a lot of the teams above us. We cannot rest back. We have to go to Birmingham, beat them, come back at home to Derby, beat them, and then retain a decent amount of form until the end of the season to keep us up. And preferably we won't go in to a final day scrap, last year was bad enough! For the record though, after feeling how I did 2 weeks ago, I am still kind of 'consigned' to league 1. For me, we have to win our next 2 games for me to end this feeling. But we CAN do it!!! COYR!!! COME ON WOTTE!!!
-
Nope, that was before the beating of Wolves (and it was 5-2 for the record). If friendlies count, we beat Svarstad (or something like that) 12-0, but in terms of real games we haven't scored more than 4 goals since the Wolves game.
-
Could be one of those days that we simply "have to win" then, like Saturday. COME ON SAINTS!!!
-
Just "HOLD ON" Just "HOLD ON"
-
Well Forest and Argyle taking the lead is a bit of a blow, would mean still a lot of work to do after 3 wins (if we win... this is certainly not a given!!!)
-
If anything can still be interpreted as good news. Can Doncaster still face the drop? Unlikely but you never know.
-
Changing our setup for me would be a risk, we might be guilty of 'sitting back' and inevitably concede. Although, I have to admit, I know nothing of the game other than what is posted on here.
-
No matter what the results elsewhere (although I admit we probably need at least a couple to go right for us) we must concentrate on our own and we must not let this slip. If we concede thats agony!!!
-
I'd imagine Portman Road is a bit more sheltered from the weather... it wont get called off...
-
looks like i'm in for a nervewracking Wednesday Morning... come on this would be an excellent win!!! I can just taste it!!! Ipswich fans are pathetic, they are sitting better in the table than in previous years and if they want Magilton out then they all have something wrong with them. They should feel lucky they have managerial and club stability.

Southampton isn't too far away from London, likely the flight was an el-cheapo, and he has nipped up on the train or something to his old hunting ground to meet up with some mates. We don't need any new signings ATM anyway, the team is beginning to gel, starting to win, it could just save us.
