Udders are the problem not Posh

Ticket received (6 away games). Train booked. Sorted.

Very surprised but got a ticket. Most excellent.

Posh score

Err, ...... No.

The way I see it, it's just games of foootball, and we take them one at a time and draw a blue line. We're all in the building and everyone's on the bus and we've got an honest hard-working bunch and we know that effort beats quality if quality doesn't make the effort. So anything can happen. Remember, this is Saints.

31st March IIRC

Question for the Positive-Thinkers after the Walsall result
Shroppie replied to alpine_saint's topic in The Saints
This is illogical in the extreme, even for you Apls. There is no "deserving" of second place and being there for most of the season counts for nothing. There is a quaint tradition that the two teams with the greatest number of points after ALL the games have been played are promoted. -
Shock horror. The voice of sanity.

I take your point but he certainly had a lot to moan about.
-
I would say not bad. Made a couple of key blocks and clearances but was usually beaten by Ricky in the air. Couldn't handle LB but got masses of help from the ref.

Very true. Didn't post as soon as I got home as the forum was so full of cr@p. We played good football, made 20 chances but paid the price for not putting any away. We defended well. They only had 3 chances and scored from the one put on a plate for them (but he took it well). Give Walsall credit for unbelievable defending at times. And when a keeper has a night like that you somehow know you're not going to score. Felt sorry for Jaidi. He had a great game and yet made the one error that gave them the game. Wouldn't blame him though - can't say exactly where the through ball would have finished if he hadn't got in the way (as he does again and again) but it could well have still given them a chance. We lost Morgan early and I think that was key to not getting a more controlled grip on the game. Also if he's scored when he got injured it could have started a landslide. Let's hope the injury's not bad. Barnard must start. His holdup play was great and he did everything but score. Should have had a freekick on the edge of the area at the end too, but waved away by one of the most biased (or just incompetent?) refs I've seen (like the clear pen), and yes, I was at Tranmere last season. This one was way down there at that level, determined to back the little club against the loud supporters. To all the doom merchants. Just look at the table. It's nowhere near over yet.

Indeed. Making a day of it.

Just arrived for the game. In The Rat Race in Platform 2 at the station. Do not miss it if arriving by train!
-
That's where we're staying.

Many thanks. Sound advice, I'm sure.

I am. Staying near Berwick with Mrs Shroppie and another couple for the week. The lads have been granted an overnight pass so it's a train trip, beer, curry, match, beer ....... :)

Barney in court today, according to the Echo
Shroppie replied to Ivan Katalinic's 'tache's topic in The Saints
http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/saints/news/8826690.Saints_striker_to_appear_in_court/ Updated. No plea entered. Back in court March 31st. -
That was 2 weeks ago. We're much better now.

This was a huge result - far more important than, for example Oldham. It's good to win well with pretty football, but to get out of this league you've got to be able to win the battles and sometimes win ugly. Last night we: 1. Played poorly but won 2. Came from behind to win 3. Showed fighting spirit and fitness in the last 20 minutes 4. Saw Ricky score a couple of good goals from open play 5. Won without Lallana (or Guly, or Forte, or Holmes) 6. Saw quality from N'Guessen - looks like a shrewd signing. 7. Didn't let heads drop after a soft goal. 8. Coped with an awful pitch and got a win We'll need to do that a few more times but at least the team have shown they can do it. Very positive night.
