The door mirror on our old Mondeo is held on with duct tape. That car took a ride through a hedge last winter though, and came out the other side significantly slimmed down, so it's excused.

What sort of deal? It would be illegal to ultimately pay HMRC more, pro rata, than the other unsecured creditors. Sounds like bullsh*t to me.

Drag? I think not. It's simply that the plastic (generally a polyethylene or polyester), although very resilient to shock, does not really like deforming and springing back into shape without weakening significantly. This causes a spiderweb of failure lines and another impact, no matter how light, will cause it to break. As most of the Mondeos and Escorts have been on the road for years, and have a relatively long lifespan, they will have seen their fair share of knocks. Couple that with the ridiculous cost of replacement bumpers, the fact they also need colour-coding and the fact that anyone keeping a 10-15 year old car on the road is not going to want to spend money on it and you end up with the duct-tape solution.

If every country in the world bought into this idea then it might just work.

The links are arguably more intuitive but that's quite subjective. It's really Steve's baby but I believe that if we wanted to take advantage of the latest vBulletin software then we had to change the skin too as the previous one was no longer compatible. There are dozens of reasons why upgrading to the latest version was desirable from an administrative point of view but I can accept that at the point of use these are less tangible. One thing I have no doubt of is that the niggles will be resolved as they come to light and ultimately we will be left with something that is more obviously far superior to what we had before.

I'm not sure we ever played without a club crest on the shirt.

I don't know if this helps you, RM, but clicking "What's New?" on the banner (under Keegan on my screen) brings up a list solely of threads with posts you haven't read, defaulted to newest at the top. It's what I do to save me clicking in and out of the main page to see where I need to go and read posts for moderation purposes.
