  1. "none of these successes can be chalked up to Brexit. As the chief executive of the MHRA swiftly pointed out, Mr Hancock was wrong to say that the UK could approve the vaccine early because it was no longer subject to EU rules. The MHRA’s decision was taken in accordance with the relevant EU legislation, which allows member states to grant temporary authorisation for a medicinal product in response to the spread of infectious diseases (among others). [1] This legislation still applies to the UK until the end of the transition period. Any EU member state could have used the same provision of the legislation to approve the vaccine. They decided not to for political and technical reasons, not legal ones. Similarly, the member states were in no way obliged to take part in the EU’s joint vaccine procurement scheme. The EU has very limited competences for public health under its founding treaties: it can take action only to “support, coordinate or supplement the actions of the Member States”. The EU member states in this case voluntarily decided to opt into the joint procurement scheme. If one or more of them had decided to follow the UK’s path and procure its own vaccines, no one would have stopped them." The village idiot talking shite as usual.
  2. We've got cheaper tampons though, stop fucking moaning.
  3. I think we reach herd immunity at around 60% so hopefully with the vulnerable all vaccinated there could maybe be a chance of some sort of normality by summer. i guess the biggest issue is the fact that i5 is a global problem so until everywhere is vaccinated it’s still going to be an issue, especially with new variants appearing all the time.
  4. I'm not sure it matters what it is called to the people on the receiving end of the attacks. https://news.sky.com/story/coronavirus-hate-crimes-against-chinese-people-soar-in-uk-during-covid-19-crisis-11979388
  5. Both sides ridicule, abuse and look down on each other - that's politics in 2021, I'm not sure how that excuses making up stories about election fraud or storming the Capitol.
  6. Get a grown up to read it for you if you don't understand it. I've had my fill of home schooling today already.
  7. I wouldn't say calling it the 'Chinese Virus" was necessarily racist but it is definitely something a racist arsehole would say (eg Trump). The difference is that Covid already has a name that distinguishes it from other viruses, it makes sense to call a variant by it's location to distinguish it from other variants of Covid. I'm not sure there is any logical reason to change Covid to Chinese so by changing the name you are purposely highlighting that race/country for your own reason. Given that Chinese people have been victims of racist abuse and attacks because of the Virus, and people are using the name know that, you can understand why it could be considered racist.
  8. The whole impeachment thing seems a bit pointless to me, he could go round raping and murdering and the Republicans won’t vote against him. I guess they have to do something out of principle though, he should be behind bars for what he has done since the election.
  9. Classic Tories that, just to avoid giving out vouchers in case those nasty poor people swap them for fags.
  10. Shit draw.
  11. Apparently one of those who died was armed with a taser, can’t confirm if this report is accurate or not tho: Violent Trump rioter shocks own testicles to death One of the four dead rioters from January 6’s attack on the Capitol Building was Kevin Greeson, a rabid Trump supporter who wished death upon Nancy Pelosi and supported the Proud Boys. He liked to pose with his many long firearms and state that he was willing to do violence to those who don’t sufficiently support Donald Trump. Greeson invaded the Capitol Building and commenced looting. He attempted to remove a large painting of Thomas “Tip” O’Neill, speaker of the house in the 80s, but in reaching up to remove the painting, activated the taser in his pants pocket. This subjected his testicles to the full force of the electric blast, and with the switch continually pressed by the fold in his trousers, delivered many shocks there, one following another. Even the heart of a great patriot such as Kevin Greeson could not withstand such an attack and he died of cardiac arrest, possibly with the painting of O’Neill draped over his lifeless form. I think we can all agree: He will be missed.
  12. Less traffic means less crashes.
  13. I wouldn’t know you particular circumstances but you said no matter how much virus was circulating, if you were in an area with a high rate and the hospitals were already stretched then taking up an ICU bed would make a difference. The NHS staff are performing heroics up and down the country at the moment, the last thing they need is more RTAs.
  14. I thought they have banned driving without good reason?
  15. You can exercise and stay healthy without cycling on the road which is relatively dangerous. If you are taking up an ICU bed and the hospital is already stretched with Covid patients the doctors may have to prioritise meaning people could die because there is not enough capacity - it’s not rocket science. I’m not saying you shouldn’t go out on your bike, I have been for some great rides during lockdown. But to say the level of virus doesn’t matter is nonsense.
  16. That’s bollocks, if you ended up in ICU that is taking resources away from Covid patients.
  17. Using a democratic process to change a decision is nothing like making up false accusations of fraud to undermine a vote. I’m not surprised a simpleton like you can’t see the difference though. If Cameron has claimed the vote was fraudulent and just ignored the result it would have been similar.
  18. It’s about time they enforced the rules, too many people taking the piss with the rules and they always have an excuse.
  19. Just don’t let him near the button!
  20. You didn't even get the right door so I'm not sure how you can say what the situation the other side was.
  21. She wasn't executed for criminal damage, she was shot because she was part of a mob threatening a load of Senators. You really do talk some shite.
  22. You cannot divorce the protests from their cause though, you can have more sympathy for violence and disorder if there is genuine injustice, like the riots in South Africa during apartheid or in Hong Kong for example. The violence around the BLM protests was wrong but rioting over police murder is a bit more understandable than because your side lost an election IMO. Either way the people causing the violence are generally twats wether they are left or right. I have never understood why for whatever cause people protest over, some people feel the need to attack some poor copper just doing their job.
