Happy with the signings but the lack of goals is our major problem and hasn't been addressed. Keeping Virgil seems like a victory at the moment but if he refuses to play or plays **** up until January we may have done ourselves out of a few quid and chance to solve our scoring problem. The problem we have with Virgil is motivation, he knows if he puts in amazing performances for us his value goes up and it makes his move harder - he's almost better off playing ****.

Keep posting, they are just jealous ****s.

I don't disagree with your analysis of the sanctions in Iraq, I have read enough first hand accounts of the Iraq war to known how Saddam benefitted from the black market whilst the population suffered - and I don't absolve his blame for that. But fact is sanctions led to much suffering and deaths of innocent Iraqis, as in NK it is always the people who suffer, never those at the top.
-
Same as Scneiderlin and Wanyama.
-
Van Dyke made it crystal clear in his statement that he wasn't refusing to play or train. A week after the deadline closes this will all be forgotten, just as it was with Schneiderlin and Wanyama.
-
Na, he would be better off making threats and playing war games of their coast - that's gonna cool things down.
-
I can't see any other option but dialogue. Sanctions are not working, it's just a matter of time before NK have nukes wether the US like it or not.
-
Of course it's not nonsensical, if the US are trying to provoke a reaction from NK to legitimise regime change then they are going about it the right way - crippling sanctions (which won't harm the leaders, only the people - like Iraq) and military provocation. Kim Jong-un is a nasty piece of work but I can't see what he has to gain by starting a war - like most dictators he is only interested in keeping hold of power and feathering his own nest. He has too much to lose by starting a war because he knows he will be finished and NK will end up as rubble. The danger comes when he has nothing to lose. If the US's only concern is peace I fail to see the logic of military exercises on NK's doorstep at a time when tensions are so high - that's where I agree totally with China and Russia's stance.
-
Sanctions and force - learn to read. The Chinese don't seem to think the yanks military activity in the region are a great idea. Considering the temperament of the people in charge of NK, and the current delecate position, surely military **** waving by the yanks is the last thing the region needs.
-
Why do these arrogant ****s think we will "invite discussions"? We've already said we don't want to sell, can they not ****ing read. If they just put a bid in I would have a bit more respect for the victims but all this tapping up and waiting for us to invite discussions really gets on my tits.
-
No, very different scenario.
-
Hopefully this paves the way for an attacking midfielder signing.
-
China along with Russia said US military activity in the region was partly to blame for the increase in tensions, and urged negotiations.
-
And what are they going to do about it? As soon as they attempt one of their regime changes the whole area will descend into war wether NK have nukes or not. Surely the best chance for peace is not to push NK into a corner with sanctions and threats but to talk. I think the Russians got it spot on when they said sanctions and force is a road to nowhere or road to catastrophe.

That's why it's important to recognise events like this for what they are - an insecure dictator trying to prove how great he is to his people. Not really a good enough reason to start WW3.
-
The club are in a difficult position, I wouldn't criticise them if they sold or kept him - without knowing all the facts it's impossible to say what the right thing to do is. If we flog the scumbag and get a shed load of cash it's good, if we keep hold of him and get him playing it's good.
-
North Korea's actions were stupid but if they wanted to start a war they would have aimed the missile at Japan not into the sea. Maybe to them the years of crippling sanctions are an act of aggression.
-
Just like the US playing War games off the North Korean coast could escalate the situation. Face it, if a fleet of North Korean War ships were playing war games off the coast of the US you lot would be ****ing your pants.
-
No mention of the joint US Japan military exercises that are going on? When the US hold military exercises miles away from their country on the doorstep of a Nation they have previously been at war at its not called sabre rattling, North Korea test a few misiles from their own soil and it is?
-
Squad filler.
-
But if he went to Man City or Chelsea he would have a realistic chance of winning the PL of ECL, not just playing in it.
-
It's always about money for Van Dyke, he was already playing for a Champions League side when he left to join us for a few quid more.
-
If that had any effect it would make all sell on agreements pointless, a club could just offer a new contract days after signing on.
-
When you say 'political class' don't you mean the conservatives? The Tories called the refurendum, the vast majority of MPs on the leave side were Tories, now it's being implemented by the Tories. If it wrecks the economy it's going to do the same for their reputation as the party you can trust with it.

Good work by Cortese if he managed to get even 25%.
