  1. There's also the possibility that Gaydamak and Chanrai are both in this together for the same end and all this "Gaydamak's demands" stuff is just a convenient way of blaming the closure on someone a thousand miles away. I don't buy the way Chanrai 'accidently' ended up owning the club for one minute.
  2. Won't happen, it's just threats to make Gaydamack to lower his demands - he will get nothing if it folds.
  3. could my toast finally be ready?!
  4. I tried watching Saints sober once before - not a good idea.
  5. The is a shining example of how Labour let the country down and why the Tories are in power. When scum like this milk the system it's the hard working lower paid people (supposedly Labour's people) that are let down more than anyone. Hopefully Cameron will keep the cuts in benefits going.
  6. Never been, but I'm guessing it's better than Weybridge.
  7. If we're not counting Le Tiss, I would go for Bergkamp, there was a game at Highbury where he destroyed us. Other than him, Gullit, Henry, Zola, Gazza or Wright.
  8. To be fair, 1170 might not seem alot of fans to us but for a club the size of Portsmouth it's quite good going. Well done.
  9. It's not a big deal, Huddersfield is a tough place to go, we can easily go up without winning every single game. I'm just getting deja-vu from last season, if we have the old "have to learn how to play on these boggy pitches" 'have to be more physical/direct" ect again I'm gonna shoot myself. The players and manager should know how to get results in this league, neither should be learning lessons at this stage.
  10. It's not a bad thing, just frustrating that we are struggling in he bottom half of League 1 when players who can't even get a regular spot on our bench walk into a team at a higher level. If Mills performs well at Championship level questions should be asked.
  11. There is still a fair chance of getting automatic, there is still tons of points to play for. I would be more confident if our manager wasn't talking about "learning lessons" like he did after Saturday. I thought he knew this league back to front, going to Huddersfield shouldn't be a lesson in anything.
  12. Looks like a complete disaster, the aircraft carriers would probably have been white elephants anyway but without aircraft what is the point? The current government are in a no win situation - you can only blame labour for signing the contracts. We should cut and run from Afganistan though, I don't see the point in spending millions on that war when we can't even afford a proper navy - complete madness.
  13. Surely if there is a settlement that rules out gross misconduct.
  14. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1207172/Sulaiman-Al-Fahim-insists-Portsmouth-takeover-track--ambassador-Diego-Maradona-100m-spend.html
  15. I see they are playing the same game again "we have to have it our way or the club gets liquidated and everyone loses out" Whilst that worked in the Prem, I don't think that will wash at all with the Football League.
  16. Guly definitely earned his place, plus if it doesn't work out Barnard would be a better impact sub - he looked fighting fit last week.
  17. And it's only £20 a ticket. They always said we got higher attendances because we practically gave tickets away. They really do have poor support.
  18. I disagree, I would say the players put more work in against Plymouth than they did against Tranmere. I think pro footballers generally try as hard as they can, I would put it more down to organisation and everyone knowing what their job in the team is. Better fitness and tactics also help.
  19. They obviously chose the wrong brother. Davids done the right thing and put as much distance between that baffoon and him as possible.
  20. Easily Chaplow and Hammond. Scheiderlin is a better passer and more skillful but the midfield looked better with Chaplow making forward runs. Scheiderlin tends to just ponce about making nice passes without getting from box to box.
  21. I don't think the person who got wacked has any choice in who gets charged with what.
  22. Of course there is a risk in not renewing Trident but I reckon it's worth taking. There are plenty of countries around the world who don't want/need nuclear weapons. If we stop sticking our nose in other countries business there is no reason why anyone would want to nuke us. Why Iran should concern us I do not know. Korea and China don't give a monkeys about us, and I'm pretty sure the US would act before their armies are massed in Calais. Russia and the potential Arctic conflict is the only threat to us, and in that case we would just be a pawn in a new Cold war - better off out of it altogether.
  23. Agree, that's why it's important that people from lower/middle incomes are not put off higher education.
  24. Education is not just about getting a job, it's about furthering knowledge. It's typical of today's world that people judge what is worth learning on the basis of how many £££'s you can grab at the end of it.
