  1. I really don't get what the fuss is about, the private sector has made massive cuts, now belatedly, it's the public sectors turn. I think it would make sense if they ALL took a big pay cut, at least then they would save some jobs. The unions wouldn't allow it though.
  2. Exactly, which is why he would welcome criticism and feedback on decisions he has made. He won't get that if no one opens their mouth through fear of upsetting him.
  3. Dumb idea. Arrange a two week break around Xmas then when the fixtures start again there will probably be two weeks of extreme snow meaning a massive backlog of fixtures around their precious Champions League knock out games. Make the useless overpiad ****s work over Xmas.
  4. We obviously need signings but it's a bit early to get stressed about it - even for this forum.
  5. I'm just going by personal experience, a few of my mates are teachers and most of them just ended up teaching because they couldn't get jobs in the the subjects they graduated in (WTF can you do with a degree in history nowadays?). Also at school there were plenty of teachers who just turned up, stuck a video on and sat in the corner of the room for an hour. There are obviously good and bad but 30K is a decent wage considering the time off they get IMO.
  6. I would say that is way overpaid, considering the amount of holiday they get.
  7. It looks like they are taking a bit of a gamble. If Saints are top of the league after a few games then SMS will be packed and they will make alot more money by having less ST holders. Remember, only the old farts among us can remember a Saints season where we challenged for the top spot - expect sell out crowds towards the end of the season if we're top. Also if the season goes to plan and we are promoted, there will be loads of people buying "New" STs for the next season in the Championship at the higher price than if they renewed. The problem is if we have a bad start we could see very low crowds at some games. Trying to convice people to part with £25 odd for Saints v Dagenham & Redbridge on a cold November Tuesday evening if we're in the bottom half will not be easy.
  8. No one is anti-Cortese, just questioning a few decisions made by the club, nowt wrong with that. If anything the club would welcome honest, constructive criticism and feedback.
  9. My guess is that they do not want to many fans with Season Tickets because they make more per game from tickets sold individually. Cortese is assuming that we will be top of the league and SMS will be packed regardless. And he's right, if we do run away with it then they will make more money by having fewer Season Ticket holders. Also by not selling Half STs the club can sting fans for the more expensive "new" STs the season after in the Championship. The problem is if we start slow then attendances will be a lot lower. I'm not that bothered by the payment plan thing in itself just disappointed in the club's attitude.
  10. Exactly, we are all grateful that Marcus saved the club and if Cortese had a role in that then we are thankful to him too. But they didn't buy Saints because they like the sound of Come On You Reds drifting on the solent breeze over Woolston, they invested in a business for the same reason Manderic, Gaydamack etc did - to make money. nothing wrong with that but it doesn't mean you should be scared of speaking up when you think something is being done wrong. To many plumbs on here live in a little fantasy world where they think posting on an internet forum will cause Leibherr to do a runner.
  11. Probably because many can't hear because they have their heads stuck firmly in the sand.
  12. Why does there need to be significant dissatisfaction to discuss the issue on a web forum? That's the problem, someone raises a genuine issue and you get plebs crying like a bunch of babies. There is no reason why we should tread on egg shells around Cortese, if we think something has been done wrong it's right to say so, and you can discuss it in a rational manner without getting all defensive through fear of Leibherr doing a runner because of what a few saddos on a Web Forum have said.
  13. You don't think they could have handled this year's season ticket sales any better then?
  14. He's got a point though. I've never pimped before but I bet it's harder work than flipping burgers at McDs. Same goes for theiving and mugging, you would have to be in pretty good shape.
  15. Virtually all Saints fans I have spoke to think withdrawing the repayment plan at short notice is out of order. Did you just pull the 8-10 figure out of your anus like all the other rubbish you spout on here?
  16. People forget that England are rubbish at football and generally always have been. A second round exit isn't underperforming, it's about average for us. There is no crisis, nothing needs to be done but accept what the rest of the world already know.
  17. In sales talk "very steady" = not good
  18. LOL at being accused of having few braincells by someone who doesn't even know the meaning of incitement!
  19. Then there's 5 years for RAPING A 13-MONTH-OLD BABY. Thats right, if your a football fan and you shake 5 fences and you are as bad as this guy.... http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/scotland/3078216.stm
  20. Or you can mug someone and not go down... http://www.gazette-news.co.uk/news/5076201.Teenager_avoids_jail_over_mugging/ If you're a football fan just be carefull not to shake any fences on your getaway.
  21. You can break somones jaw in 3 places and not even go to jail... http://www.oxfordmail.co.uk/news/8181029.Man_avoids_jail_for_GBH_pub_attack/ But shake a fence you get a year because you just watched a football game.
  22. Anyone who thinks a year in jail for shaking a fence is not harsh is a nob.
  23. How does their situation differ to the Leeds one?
  24. Releasing the fans at the same time was dumb. It's standard practice for away fans to be locked in at hostile grounds. My guess is that it's something to do with the traffic because Northam rd is always closed after the game so I expect they want to get the away coaches back to the park and ride as quickly as possible.
  25. Forcing fans to buy tickets on a match by match basis means the club get more cash per ticket as our ticket prices are quite high, especially when you add on the new booking fee. I don't get the issue with the finance either, if you pay by installments you should expect to pay a bit more - that's how Lowe originally had it set up, it's quite easy to do and is obviously cost effective as it had run for years and virtually all other clubs do it. If we have a good start the club might profit from what Cortese has done because SMS will probably be packed out regardless. But even if that's the case I think the way it has been handled is disgusting. I certainly will spend as little as possible on anything SFC if this is their attitude.
