  1. ...Surely now would be a good time to get it, club staring League 1/Admin in the face and all?
  2. You are forgetting the goal he stuffed in the net from 30 yards during the 5mins he has played this season. Only Beattie, Phillips and that bloke at Wolves out scored John last season - and that was in a struggling side.
  3. the last two games have showed us how important it is to have players like Stern John in the side, if Lowe loans him out he's a ****. IMO if we ship out John it will be the nail in our coffin and will be Lowe's greatest false economy since he saved a few quid by hiring Steve Wigley.
  4. I'm sorry but Pootvleit has no excuses for the bad perfomances, despite the player cuts he has been able to bring in virtually his own new team. We had the resources to bring in Paul Wotton, Lee Holmes, Tommy Forecast, Romain Gasmi, Morgan Schneiderlin, Jack Cork, Tomas Pekhart, Jordan Robertson, Ryan smith and Anthony Pulis. That's 10 new players, along with a few kids any decent manager could assemble a team capable of mid table.
  5. We're gonna get butchered 4-0.
  6. I don't think it will go anywhere near the last game, this current team will be down with 2-3 still to play IMO. Last year we proved beyond and doubt whatsoever how valuable experience is when it comes to the pressure of a relegation battle. This bunch of kids can't handle the pressure even when there is no pressure.
  7. I thought Kelvin should have come off his line for the first, it's hard to criticise him too much though considering the awful defenders he has to work behind. As for Poortvleit, I think it's not a case of we need a NEW manager, more a case of we need A manager. At the moment we are basically managerless, we have Rupert Lowe and a coach - there is no one actually managing the squad.
  8. Poortaloo has got to go, the whole idea of playing total football with the resources we have was laughable. Lowe's really excelled himself this time, ****ing ****-wit.
  9. Claus said in his testimonial programme that Woodward was involved before we were relegated.
  10. Complete ****e, the really worrying thing is that Watford were poor, they could hardly string two passes together yet still beat us 3-0. Not one of the back 4 that played were good enough, why we've brought in so many young attacking players on loan beggers belief, we need two new full backs and our proper centre halfs fit or we are dead certs to go down.
  11. Percentage attendance figures mean precisely naff all. Just to illustrate this fact to the mathematically retarded, Barcelona's is 57.9%.
  12. I disagree, I think the squad we had that season would have kept us up comfortably it we hadn't have gone through Lowe's mad managerial merry-go-round. This was a season where an incredibly poor West Brom side managed to stay up with, in Brian Robson, one of the Worlds ****test managers in charge. With players like Crouch, Beattie, Phillips, Camara etc with ONE half decent manager in charge we could have stayed up with ease IMO. the fact that we still had a chance final day, even after all Lowe's dicking about says it all IMO.
  13. Do any of you business heads know if there is any advantage/disadvantage of being a PLC if we go into admin? Will we be more or less likley to go into admin because we are a PLC (will the banks give us more leeway)? If we go into admin will it be more or less messy/protracted because we are a PLC?
  14. I can't remember a single "Woodward Out" chant at St Mary's, what on earth are you on about?
  15. Cole is a ****, I don't think he was booed enough.
  16. I disagree, whilst sacking Sturrock two games in was dumb beyond belief, if we had appointed a proper manager (even saggy face) at that point we would have stayed up IMO. It was the Wigley farce that saw us relegated, too many points dropped at home to ****e teams.

I think the original poster is spot on, employing a yes-man is the worst thing we could have done this season, we need an experienced Championship manager who can tell Lowe exactly what is needed to stay in this league. It scares me ****less thinking how this set up will perform when the real pressure starts towards the end of the season when experience in players and management is worth it's weight in gold.
  18. It would be superb if he bought us.
  19. Football fans in being fickle shocker! - Well done Sherlock, pure genius.
  20. I think the poster of this thread mis-understands the point of being negative, when you are pessimistic you get too enjoy the glory of victory as well as the delight of being pleasantly surprised. All positive fans get is the mere reward of an expected result. Plus by being pessimistic us negative fans are reducing the weight of expectation on our player's young shoulders thus helping their performance. I still think we will go down.
  21. Easy Doncaster win - 2-0.
  22. About as believable as this ****e that was on the OS about a month ago... Nathan Dyer has revealed the club's new coaching set-up was the key factor in his decision to sign a new contract. The England Under 19 international had been stalling on a new deal while he waited to assess the recent changes at the club. But the pacy winger is delighted with what he has seen from Jan Poortvliet and his coaching team and he is hugely excited about the new campaign. He said: "I never wanted to leave the club but I had to make sure it was right to stay. "I am only 20 but already I have had a lot of managers and a lot of chairmen and I wanted to make sure the set-up was right. "Rupert Lowe has come back as chairman and I like what he has had to say about the club and the way he wants to take it forward. "The philosophy of exciting attacking football with young players will suit me and I am really looking forward to being involved. "I needed to see what the new manager was all about and what style he wanted to play and I have been very impressed by what I have seen. "It all looks very exciting. He wants to play with wingers and with young players and he wants to play fast, exciting and attacking football. "That is ideal for me and the future is really bright so I am delighted to be part of it. "I never said I did not want to stay here but with so many changes I had to be sure it was right and that is why it has taken a while to get it all sorted. "But I am delighted it has all been done and now I can focus on preparing for the new season and trying to win back my place. "That won't be easy because there is a lot of competition with Lee Holmes coming in and Bradley doing well on the right and other young players coming through too. "But that can only be good for the club and I am very excited about the way things are shaping up."
  23. IMO we are a decent left and right back short of an OK Championship squad. Blowing money on the wages of some bench warming striker in our situation is nuts.
  24. What a load of ******, I have already paid for my season ticket - what's the administrator going to do, force me to post it back? The administrators job is to keep the company running whilst the debts are paid. Telling the customers to not attend is hardley going to keep it running.
  25. I am really struggling to understand what the hell is going on. We are completely skint so it is vital that we get the absolute maximum out of what we have, yet we: Brought in Forecast from Spurs - doesn't even appear to be 2nd choice Signed Pulis - injured Signed Romaine Gasmi(sp) - injured And now we've brought in yet another young, inexperienced striker when we play with one up front and already have a 20 goal a season striker in John plus Pekhart, Mcgoldrick and BWP. IMO we desperately need a left and right back, and we need experience. The very last thing we need is some unproven young striker. The squad is a mess.
