I just don't get the Danny Fox vitriol. Not a good player at this level, but I never see any reason to question his effort/application which is the only reason why these comments should ever get this personal. I also though Ramirez looked good when he came on. Despite being slightly disappointed with his contribution so far this season, I'm still pretty confident he will turn out to be an excellent investment. Lallana looked good on the right. Jack Cork is a much better player without the ball than with it, which suits our system just fine. Rodriguez was pretty well dealt with by both full-backs he faced. Overall I can't complain about the result, but I really thought that we looked the more likely before the penalty incident. On to the next one.

Paul Smith in goal for Southend. Anyone remember how good he was for a few games during the relegation run-in? Think it might have been a home win vs Spurs (Quashie scored IIRC) when he was superb.

Andrew Davies was immense in the nPC for a while, before moving on to Stoke I think. That was just at the stage when things were starting to go very very wrong financially. Still at Bradford struggling with injuries.

Everyone was great, but Jos has getting better and better since Fonte's injury so I voted for him.

He's absolutely excellent until he gets anywhere near a shooting opportunity. He really has made the step-up brilliantly.

What a simplistic view of things. Yes we didn't win today, but we never gave them a sniff from around 30 minutes in. I can't remember seeing us play like that before; its no mean feat to achieve that in the PL.

Did you watch the game? They barely had a kick from 30 mins onwards. Highly frustrating to concede so late again, but I'm impressed with the way we played.

I suspect 'Get Goal Side' might be responsible for this. They are a footy comedy website and disproportionately took against NA due to his relentless positivity for comic effect.

Shaw has played a lot of football since he came in. Perhaps he is one member of our squad who would benefit greatly from an extra few days off before his next competitive match. Can't believe that he would have just been dropped.

But we played Baird at CB and he was superb there.

I thought we were excellent. Very impressed by the players' attitude.

I respect the OP's sentiments, but it will take me quite a long time to get over how my club has treated Adkins, who I have the upmost respect for. That said, if I could make it to the game on Monday I would not boo, but sing plenty of Adkins songs whilst also supporting the team. COYR
