It’s times like these that just show how bad our support is tbh. A few years of good finishes in the Premier League made a lot of people entitled, complacent and forgetful of our true stature. Cue the odd initial dip in results and the atmosphere quickly became toxic, which has clearly contributed to our demise. People talk about the players not having the mental capacity for a relegation fight, but to be honest I really don’t see the fans having the capacity for it either. You’ve got it the wrong way round! Compare the sorts of goals scored by Austin and Gabbiadini. The former is essentially a finisher of clear cut chances (even though he squanders a high proportion of them!), whereas the latter scores a higher proportion of goals where he has more left to do or has to create chances himself.
