The club knew what he was up to at the time. We contacted the club back in the early 1990s for a reference on him after considering an application to the Bob Higgins Soccer Academy he had set up after his departure from Saints. A known figure at the club (might have been Dennis Rofe) advised us to steer well clear of him due to the dubious circumstances of his departure.

Take the **** all you want but if "200" (probably an exaggeration) got in without tickets, it raises serious safety concerns.

Same reason for them having a first choice keeper who has half his family from Southampton.

Even if you're not eligible it's worth going on and checking if you can buy. I didn't go to any games last year but I've still been able to login and purchase four tickets via saints tickets site.

I entirely understand that they are trying to turn it from one of those places where large groups go and hog tables because it’s “their spot” and share two drinks between six of them. I also see why they don’t want it to be full of screaming kids playing on PlayStations and getting in everybody’s away. It’s all about revenue. The problem is our fan base just isn’t very contemporary, classy or metropolitan and so people will moan about paying the going rate for premium experiences because they just aren’t used to this sort of product. If you’re buying a season ticket but only attending two thirds of the games, you’re throwing money down the drain. Why would you even do that? The st used to work out as one game free so as soon as you’ve missed one game, you’ve negated the cost incentive of buying a season ticket anyway. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
