You should take these back to the ticket office if they still do refunds.

I thought much of the 1st Half was very nervy. Barnsley were keen to get the ball on the ground and play football and, to be honest, it seemed as though the Saints players and fans were a little taken aback by that. There certainly seemed to be a lot of anxiety coming from the stands and it was quite strongly expressed at times. One old codger behind me was moaning thick and fast throughout the 1st Half with two notable highlights. Number one was "Get the bloody lot of them off!" and "That's the problem with playing Hammond in field. We've got no bite!" I'll be honest and say that I think the way the first goal came about was lucky. I was moaning about the hoof ball when it was initially played, although the finish was good. Lee's contribution for the second goal was excellent. I thought he'd let the ball get away from him at one point, but the way he cut inside and held the ball for a long, long time whilst looking for the pass showed a really impressive level of composure. As ever Guly seemed to divide fans. I've never been his biggest fan and have done my fair amount of criticising him, but I must say that some fans have lost the plot a little with regards to how little they are prepared to criticise him for. We all have an interest in him raising his game so it makes sense not to lambast him for every tiny little detail of his game.

did he do her or something?

I was literally waiting for you to to start a song with ten minutes to go so my Kingsland codger chums could join in but you even ignored my text. And you know why my season ticket isn't in the Northam; I don't like the view! I may have to buy one in the Northam next season but I'm a bit concerned as I've heard there's this racist guy called George towards the back of block 41.

Aside from the usual 'mong' replies that are to be expected on here, there's a few interesting comments worth responding to. The crux of the matter is that I found it odd that we as fans reacted so negatively to the equaliser. I've been to plenty of games where an equaliser is met with a roar of noise going round the stadium as we egg the lads on to getting back in front etc. Last night there was nothing and we were ridiculed for it, but still there was nothing. People that go in the Northam frequently boast about being the stand who start the songs and that's true; they are the most vocal stand as a rule. Therefore, the rest of us look to them to dictate the crowd response; they set the tone in other words. This isn't a 'my stand's better than yours' debate; I'm just shocked at the lack of reaction last night. Was it such a shock that it knocked the wind out the fans? Was it so late that we felt it wasn't worth it? Had we assumed that the team were inevitably going to fail to score because of how much we'd struggled to get the first? The bottom line is that I think we will need to stand up and be counted in situations similar to last night's during this run in, and I was surprised that us fans didn't seem up to the job last night.

Last night there wasn't so much of a peep from the Northam after the Ipswich equaliser; nothing that was audible from the middle of the Kingsland anyway. I thought we were all in implicit agreement that the vocal minority sit (stand?) in the Northam and get the songs going, and that the other stands hopefully then join in. So what happened last night then? To add insult to injury, a significant amount of you started leaving early as well. Don't give me the, "Why didn't you start a song?" line. I can't start songs from the middle of the Kingsland. I would get told to sit down and shut up. All I can hope is that the Northam get something started that creeps round the ground, and then I do my bit to get those around me to join in. So if you were in the Northam and you're a self-professed vocal fan, why weren't you collectively giving it some for the last 10minutes last night? Even when the Ipswich fans were taking the **** of your silence with "You only sing when you're winning."

You should have gone for a Yamaha!

I think you're missing the point. They are loaning out big earners to reduce the wage bill and then presumably looking to take players on loan who they will either pay low wages or no wages at all (wages paid by parent club). The point is that they'll still have a team to put out, but that their wage bill will be much lower. There's nothing against the rules, or even faintly dubious, about this. Close them down.

That Daily Mail article linked to on another thread suggested 80 points should be enough for auto promotion. Have they got it wrong again then?

Puncheon looked ok on his first appearance back but since then he has become steadily more ineffective. Counter that against how well De Ridder played in the two consecutive starts he had and you've got a glaringly odd decision by Adkins. You can only assume that De Ridder has really struggled to impress in training recently.

I'd suggest you get a cheap web hosting account from someone like sgis.co.uk who will let you do one-click installs of content management systems. I know sgis offer a one click install of a wiki platform called MediaWiki (mediawiki.org) although I've never used it myself. I use sgis.co.uk for personal hosting and their packages start at £10 a year if you've already got a domain. Alternatively, if you've got no money or a complete lack of technical knowledge you can go for something like http://www.wikihost.org/ which will you offer a similar concept to what you might be used to if you've used the default hosting options at blogger.com or wordpress (i.e. they host it for you).

Out of interest, if all the western states ganged up on the eastern states together and started bombing them, do you reckon we could win? -

1900 away fans I heard. Good effort really when the atmosphere there was probably poorer than in most pubs in Southampton.
-
Whilst I know 'atmosphere' never comes across well on video, those videos really do make it look like there was sod all atmosphere there. What an utterly gash stadium Elland Road looks to be. I reckon there was probably a better atmosphere in The Alex where loads of people crammed in to watch it on TV.

Is Lallana definitely missing (don't have time to read whole thread)? Somebody on Twitter said they served him "at work" this morning but that could have been at the airport for all I know. incidentally, this is the first game I can remember the players travelling to via plane this season. Is it a special treat for them now we're approaching the run in, designed to keep them as fresh as possible etc?
