  1. Have you not seen that You Tube video of BFS in his back garden wearing just his underpants doing a rain dance standing on a large map of the St Mary's area of Southampton?
  2. Dear Nicola Please respond to the above letter by directing this SISA Johnny to the Chapel Arms, where he will find an Ale that IS a disgrace. I think this letter might be based on the shame of standing next to folks wearing the clubs colours with pride, which is rampaging through Saints fans Web forums. Putting a pleasant Ale carrying the Saints crest into their mouths is seen as taking medicine to make them turn into happy clappers. Lots of Love Me
  3. The Palace game was postponed due to a day of very heavy rain on sodden ground, coupled to a high spring tide which stopped the drains emptying fast enough. Saturday low tide is at 08:32 high tide is at 15:30 and it's heading towards neap tides, so the drains will have had a good chance to shed their excess before kick off, so if it does piddle down the water will have somewhere to go. We haven't had serious rain for weeks so the ground is relatively hard, any extremes of rain will just run to the lowest point making big puddles making things look worse than they are. For Saturdays game to be off with TV and all the final game factors, the Queen Mary will have to be moored in Britannia Road!!
  4. Pretty laid back, although having a Daughter looking to be blowing her A levels by going off at bizarre tangents with her essays and course work, and not taking on board advice or guidance from stupid parents reminds me that there is another world outside the red and white stripes. And to be honest a greater concern at possibly having to pick her up and dust her down as much as she will allow over the next few months, has proved to be an un expected distraction. Might be a tad different driving down the M3 on Saturday morning mind!
  5. There was a survey a couple of years back about people's support for league football teams up and down the country, it included Scotland too. Pretty certain we were in the Championship at the time and we came out as the 17th. Add this finding to the unofficial 55,000 Saints fans who rocked up to the JPT final and those who missed out, the fact that there will be times when the 32k+ seats at Saint Mary's will not be enough for key games is no surprise. Just amazing that everytime we get big gates and surge for ticket demand a full on debate takes place on here.
  6. He's been getting away with that for years (I remember him having Crouch in a double armlock twice in the box against us years ago: he got the foul in his favour for one and ignored for the other) Silly whatsit forgot the official behind the goal line and paid the price.
  7. .....
  8. Widen your vision: how many teams when we played in league 1 with our far superior firepower, put 10 men behind the ball? Oldham at SMS ended our play off hopes playing this way, we threw just about every kitchen sink in Hampshire at them and they kept us out. Walsall last season they were 1-0 up and we must have thrown every kitchen sink in the West Midlands at them to no avail. When Di Matteo was manager not so long ago at MK Dons he had them playing well he came up against the same backs against the wall defending. How many times in the late stages of European Football have you ever seen defending like tonight, disciplined every man behind the ball most teams in Chelsea's position would have been trying their hardest to push up, and at CL level punished severely. Hope that helps.
  9. That defending was straight out of DiMatteo's league one play book. Anyone who was at the Oldham game when the play off chance was snuffed out and at Walsall last season will know exactly what I mean.
  10. Certainly glad that's been settled!! Bit mightily piddled off if Saturday was postponed at less than a weeks notice, I work all week just for that moment at 6:30am when I come to look at the clock and go "ah another 2 hours at leastzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz"!
  11. Not seen this elsewhere the Ref for Saturday is Anthony Taylor Here's his Wiki Wotsit ..................... Incriminating photoshopped photos on order http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anthony_Taylor_(referee
  12. Robby Savage on 5Live called it right, end of the season nothing to play for you aren't going to make a hard tackle as you know your holiday will be held in check if you get injured. As I have said already, he also said Coventry could be tricky as they will be relaxed.
  13. I'm not sat next to anyone.
  14. I am sure Reading fans were slashing their wrists at missing out on winning the Championship sat on their backsides watching us lose to Boro at about 7:20 on Saturday night, and not up at Birmingham.
  15. That's handy, we will all know what's going on when the Gold Plated Northam massive start to, what looks to everyone else in the ground, wave their hands about: what we won't quite see is the Season tickets in their hands!!
  16. Yeah right....................... Fat chance of that!!
  17. I would imagine the thinking behind the offer from the City for the bus tour is simply down to the fact that if Saints are in the Prem then the Advertising for the City is priceless seeing as we will be on the TV throughout the world every week. When we were relegated I recall a piece somewhere about how much it would cost the City in lost future revenue from companies home and abroad looking to locate and invest in the City and it's surroundings. So you can see the thinking why Norwich did it last year and Southampton City council is offering it this year.
  18. To be fair we had a very competitive Huddersfield shadowing us in 3rd last year until the last but one game. So we do seem to be able to handle it. It's just we seem to make a meal out of doing so!! Anyway the second part of that very dark Silent Witness is on tonight, so whatever I watch it will be from behind the Sofa!!!
  19. The decision not to send him off was wrong and influenced the team, had he been sent off apart from not making Boro so gung-ho, it would not have made much difference to us as against 10 men we have been poor at making the man advantage count these last few seasons.
  20. If there was a league championship for fans web forums to get off thread topic, we would be qualifying for Europe with ease. If I had the money I would invite all the usual contributors to meet in person in a pub, just to add alcohol to the mix, as I think that would very interesting to observe the arguing of points of view without having to type them out.
  21. I would have no problem if we do it tonight, damn sight easier than being on the Telly against a relaxed relegated next Saturday.
  22. The Civic leaders have offered one on Sunday either for Champions or just being promoted. It was in the Echo yesterday. If 55,000 can rock up to Wembley for a 3rd division cup final I would imagine quite a few might just step out onto the streets to cheer the lads for the season.
  23. Feel the same as I have for many years following a chance of some sort slipping through Saints fingers once again, not suicidal or depressed, just a bit of ah well. Just move on and go again. We have another chance to secure our goal. At the end of the day no one died and we weren't consigned to relegation back into league 1.
  24. Very good despite being numbed by incahol that is top drawer!
  25. I have to say living in border country just outside Basingstoke, it does smart that Reading go up as Champions. The last time Reading were in the Prem, despite the number of Saints fans up here, the town was riddled with blue and white hooped shirts that disappeared along with their Premiership status. Also with the Championship still up for grabs at 2-1 down we did not show the desire to keep title chase alive.......... That is such a nice Trophy too. Ah well
