We are Southampton and being in my 40s you know whatever we do it isn't going to be all Disney channel perfect world with very little to fear. I also know that we are playing in probably one of the most competitive Football Leagues in the world, where any result is possible: and that makes it so much more enjoyable. That said the Butterflies have been kept in check all season, although a solitary one did break ranks on Saturday morning as we made our final approach to our parking spot! Right now there is a bit of shuffling about going on amongst them: wish there wasn't but it certainly makes things more exciting in a macabre way!

Whilst the positive vibe is running, everyone seems to have forgotten the midweek game at the Dell where we were 1-0 down to Newcastle just as added time began, and we finished 3-1 winners: and the Solent commentator needing to be hosed down for fear of spontaneous combustion!

That was only because we played for 80 minutes then switched off, but then we were guilty of that for years. Under WGS we bucked the trend, Missus JBS who became much more regular at games back then always said "do you not feel the atmosphere in the ground change to that of tension at 80 minutes" my reply was No: but then that was probably down to me being part of that crowd tension. Yesterday was definitely out of character for us: hopefully a wake up call!!

You didnt see the broken window because it was on the nearside rear on the top deck. I know we all hate them but that must have been a very chilly 54 mile round trip for some of those not involved in knocking it out.

Their first was struck like Tadanari Lee smashed that thunderbolt a few weeks back, being in line of the trajectory a few folks around where I was sitting were sheepishly commented that it was a hell of a strike. Can't believe the negativity on here: I am stunned that we have been allowed to play the style of football we do until last weekend.

Sat in the Chapel and seeing it right in front of me, without any shadow of a doubt it was the most shameful and at the same time pathetic dive, the majority around me were all asking what Lallana was playing at! Quite disappointing to see that from such a gifted player.

I wonder what the reaction on here would have been to those few numpties had a few like minded Circus freaks at the other end seen it as the chance to join in and all hell broken loose.

This I thought at times it was immense too.

A good few years back I knew lads who had done really stupid things when they thought it was a bit of a wheeze and had their collars felt and charged by the Fuzz. Then further down the track found travelling to the US a bit of a pain in the backside........ One Guy had to cancel a family trip to Disneyland, try explaining that to the kids.

Chuff all went on outside the Northam Club, the rozzers pushed all the spectators for the passing of the Circus Freaks up the road between the Northam Club and the houses. It was funny to see all these heads pop up from behind the fence of the Northam Club beer garden as the busses passed. The busted from the inside out window was on the near side so away from the club. I know a couple of the lads who sell the Programmes in the Northam car park, they said it was quite funny to hear all this language being sung that would make a sailor blush, then as they bought programmes "can I have one please" "please can I have two" Which they both found amusing.

There are times when you get the impression that Richardson does not like him, as said elsewhere, the ball goes to him when he is facing our goal with a defender up his chuff. Today SDR asked for the ball over the top and Richardson ignored him and passed it sideways for our cocking about in the centre back goalie triangle play.

Today was a stand alone game almost a cup game, the occasion of the Derby negated the league results. There was a couple of minutes in the second half where there was a massive hole in midfield but it was almost like the occasion had exhausted both teams and they both took the foot off the gas. In the grand scheme of things this was a game we could have done with getting out of the way a month or two ago, but there we go we played it we got what feels a disappointing point. Still plenty of football left in what has to be the most competitive second tier of Football anywhere in the world. If you had enough time to pull your Anorak on, it would be interesting to see who of those with a length of rope and rickety stool looking for a stout branch, or searching for the rusty razor blades on here tonight, posted wholeheartedly in the raft of Chickens counted threads last week. It's Saturday night, we have not lost, we are top of the league. Pour a drink and relax before getting ready for Palace on Monday.

That's what the Priest said when walked through the door, and passed me an envelope containing a bill for his services. He also said my Daughter will grow out of the 360 degree head rotation Malarky!!

I have noticed in recent weeks that Danny Fox has been firing in some evil corners at pace and speed right into the 18/6 yard box that has caused havoc including setting Billy up for a great header v Donny. Whereas from the other side the corners from Lallana seem a bit floaty and soft and appear easy for the Goalie. I would have thought as Frazer has a bit of a mean right foot he would have been given a crack at smashing a few into the box from corners, thus giving the oppo's defenders a bit more to worry about with a lurking Lallana in and around the box, along with all the other firepower at our disposal: including Jos Just a thought not a criticism.

You have to admire Sian Massey who despite the Keys-Gray fiasco has stuck with it. Just a shame there is only one of her, as having watched her running the line at SMS she has to have been the (in the correct term) fittest Lino we have had down there and correct in her decisions. She kept up with the line of play at the pace of the players, unlike many of the pie eaters we have seen week in week out, some of whom I swear flag a player offside on the assumption.

I stand corrected. Still at the end of the day she has always been associated with Southampton, and it was the largest peacetime Maritime disaster that had a devastating effect on what was a small seaside Spa town at the time. Still at the end of the day it's an event the vast majority of the City will recognise the anniversary of over the coming couple of weeks. I can't see what the issue is if the club does decide to do something prior to the Reading game.

Your location!!!.............. On your profile!!

That's a tad facetious, marking the 100th anniversary is a notable milestone of an event that had a major effect on the folks of the City of Southampton. As a nation we don't, as a rule, follow the American let's mark the passing of any Tom, **** or Harriet, in fact as a nation we don't mark anything much (well for some bizarre reason St Patricks Day and Independence - from the UK for Christs sake- Day gets more airtime than St George's Day!!!) We don't have Happy Southampton Football Club day every year we had 100 and 125 years. Anyone raised in Southampton knows the city's connection to the sea and the history that it brings, The Sinking of the un Sinkable Titanic, a ship that carried the name of the City ( then town) Southampton on its stern, makes it a integral part of the History of the City. Southampton Football Club is part of the History of the city, should we return to the premiership we will once again be beamed into the homes of billions of people around the world, which makes the Football club an even bigger ambassador of the City and an integral institution within the city and it's history, if the club choose to mark a notable milestone in the City's history then it should be embraced not mocked. As a club we have already realised the frailty of having a minutes clapping or Silence for the passing of Mrs Miggings cat et al every other week that's why we have All Saints Day once a year. History is cast in the bin far too easily, without history we would be lesser people, (Americans have no history, what they had they tried to destroy, they now try to enhance their little history to gain culture). A simple minute to "doff your cap" in the direction of those who perished as part of the City's history every 100 years, is that really going to ruin the rest of your life?

Could kill two birds with one stone there, as I have a teenage Daughter who I swear can rotate her head through 360 degrees at will!!
-
You are right it's not a Church, It's a bloody Cathedral where these past few seasons we have witnessed the re birth of the Mesiah called Southampton Football Club!!! Bloody Heretic's!!!!!
-
So Southampton Football Club have chuff all to with the City of Southampton and it's history! Tut! Bloody Belgians

Just hope the crusty old git who tells us the north car park is closed to home supporters doesn't try the let's turn the stadium speakers up to drown out the noise of the crowd pre match like they have in the past. I always remember the league cup game a few years ago when they tried that, talk about piddling into the wind, the atmosphere was bristling that night: you could have wired the stands up to the national grid that night and generated enough electricity to power Hampshire for a week. No matter where you sit, the stadium will be whipped up into a frenzy next Saturday lunchtime never fear: even the those equipped with Tartan rugs and flasks of hot tea who frequent the Kingsland.

Were you as embarassed as me by yesterday ?
John Boy Saint replied to Raven on the wing's topic in The Saints
Nothing to be embarrassed about, just one of those things: just a bit of a pig it was on national TV. I have a Manc mate who came with me to Brum (cos we was working up there), last night he txt me to say he has watched Saints twice now and is yet to see Saints score......................... I have already put £100 in the post to take his wife out for dinner on Friday the 13th!! -
Over the last few Days our TV has been switching from the Sky AV feed to the Digital feed on BBC 1 without anyone touching the remote!!! Sperms v Swans was on in the background today, then Len Goodman was telling us about Titanic on the Beeb with no-one in the room!!! We live in a 1950's solid built detached house where the wi-fi struggles to reach the furthest point from the hub our closest neighbour is 15 feet from our TV but their TV is over 75 feet away from ours and not been changed in the last few days. So as we bought the house from the Estate of my late Father and Mother in law: do you think they don't approve of our viewing choice...............???
