  1. Today was a stand alone game almost a cup game, the occasion of the Derby negated the league results. There was a couple of minutes in the second half where there was a massive hole in midfield but it was almost like the occasion had exhausted both teams and they both took the foot off the gas. In the grand scheme of things this was a game we could have done with getting out of the way a month or two ago, but there we go we played it we got what feels a disappointing point. Still plenty of football left in what has to be the most competitive second tier of Football anywhere in the world. If you had enough time to pull your Anorak on, it would be interesting to see who of those with a length of rope and rickety stool looking for a stout branch, or searching for the rusty razor blades on here tonight, posted wholeheartedly in the raft of Chickens counted threads last week. It's Saturday night, we have not lost, we are top of the league. Pour a drink and relax before getting ready for Palace on Monday.
  2. Luuuuuuke is having a bit of a mare too
  3. That's what the Priest said when walked through the door, and passed me an envelope containing a bill for his services. He also said my Daughter will grow out of the 360 degree head rotation Malarky!!
  4. I have noticed in recent weeks that Danny Fox has been firing in some evil corners at pace and speed right into the 18/6 yard box that has caused havoc including setting Billy up for a great header v Donny. Whereas from the other side the corners from Lallana seem a bit floaty and soft and appear easy for the Goalie. I would have thought as Frazer has a bit of a mean right foot he would have been given a crack at smashing a few into the box from corners, thus giving the oppo's defenders a bit more to worry about with a lurking Lallana in and around the box, along with all the other firepower at our disposal: including Jos Just a thought not a criticism.
  5. You have to admire Sian Massey who despite the Keys-Gray fiasco has stuck with it. Just a shame there is only one of her, as having watched her running the line at SMS she has to have been the (in the correct term) fittest Lino we have had down there and correct in her decisions. She kept up with the line of play at the pace of the players, unlike many of the pie eaters we have seen week in week out, some of whom I swear flag a player offside on the assumption.
  6. I stand corrected. Still at the end of the day she has always been associated with Southampton, and it was the largest peacetime Maritime disaster that had a devastating effect on what was a small seaside Spa town at the time. Still at the end of the day it's an event the vast majority of the City will recognise the anniversary of over the coming couple of weeks. I can't see what the issue is if the club does decide to do something prior to the Reading game.
  7. Your location!!!.............. On your profile!!
  8. That's a tad facetious, marking the 100th anniversary is a notable milestone of an event that had a major effect on the folks of the City of Southampton. As a nation we don't, as a rule, follow the American let's mark the passing of any Tom, **** or Harriet, in fact as a nation we don't mark anything much (well for some bizarre reason St Patricks Day and Independence - from the UK for Christs sake- Day gets more airtime than St George's Day!!!) We don't have Happy Southampton Football Club day every year we had 100 and 125 years. Anyone raised in Southampton knows the city's connection to the sea and the history that it brings, The Sinking of the un Sinkable Titanic, a ship that carried the name of the City ( then town) Southampton on its stern, makes it a integral part of the History of the City. Southampton Football Club is part of the History of the city, should we return to the premiership we will once again be beamed into the homes of billions of people around the world, which makes the Football club an even bigger ambassador of the City and an integral institution within the city and it's history, if the club choose to mark a notable milestone in the City's history then it should be embraced not mocked. As a club we have already realised the frailty of having a minutes clapping or Silence for the passing of Mrs Miggings cat et al every other week that's why we have All Saints Day once a year. History is cast in the bin far too easily, without history we would be lesser people, (Americans have no history, what they had they tried to destroy, they now try to enhance their little history to gain culture). A simple minute to "doff your cap" in the direction of those who perished as part of the City's history every 100 years, is that really going to ruin the rest of your life?
  9. Could kill two birds with one stone there, as I have a teenage Daughter who I swear can rotate her head through 360 degrees at will!!
  10. You are right it's not a Church, It's a bloody Cathedral where these past few seasons we have witnessed the re birth of the Mesiah called Southampton Football Club!!! Bloody Heretic's!!!!!
  11. So Southampton Football Club have chuff all to with the City of Southampton and it's history! Tut! Bloody Belgians
  12. Just hope the crusty old git who tells us the north car park is closed to home supporters doesn't try the let's turn the stadium speakers up to drown out the noise of the crowd pre match like they have in the past. I always remember the league cup game a few years ago when they tried that, talk about piddling into the wind, the atmosphere was bristling that night: you could have wired the stands up to the national grid that night and generated enough electricity to power Hampshire for a week. No matter where you sit, the stadium will be whipped up into a frenzy next Saturday lunchtime never fear: even the those equipped with Tartan rugs and flasks of hot tea who frequent the Kingsland.
  13. Nothing to be embarrassed about, just one of those things: just a bit of a pig it was on national TV. I have a Manc mate who came with me to Brum (cos we was working up there), last night he txt me to say he has watched Saints twice now and is yet to see Saints score......................... I have already put £100 in the post to take his wife out for dinner on Friday the 13th!!
  14. Over the last few Days our TV has been switching from the Sky AV feed to the Digital feed on BBC 1 without anyone touching the remote!!! Sperms v Swans was on in the background today, then Len Goodman was telling us about Titanic on the Beeb with no-one in the room!!! We live in a 1950's solid built detached house where the wi-fi struggles to reach the furthest point from the hub our closest neighbour is 15 feet from our TV but their TV is over 75 feet away from ours and not been changed in the last few days. So as we bought the house from the Estate of my late Father and Mother in law: do you think they don't approve of our viewing choice...............???
  15. Not sure if it's the same today as it was in its original state before Microsoft got their paws on it, but Skype was always the most secure, secret, encrypted, whatever you want to call it system of communicating over the Internet without anyone, including Skype themselves, being able to access, hack, or monitor the traffic. A few years ago various intelligence agency's requested access and Skype said no.
  16. There is nothing to celebrate, so silence is apt. Southampton is a Maritime city with a very long history with the sea, this is the most notable maritime disaster that taught people so much, with a famous ship who's home city was Southampton. Although many folks were from elsewhere 4 out of 5 crew members were from Southampton. Of those who perished A Third were from Southampton. Everyone got their knickers in a knot over Muamba, but 100 years ago this event devastated the city: My late Grandad was a nipper when she left Southampton he always recalled it like it was yesterday, also being under 10 at the time he always said about the numb devastation in the city after the event because everyone knew someone who died. Southampton is famous throughout the world because of its maritime history, Titanic will never let people forget that throughout the world.......................A minutes silence will not cost anyone any inconvenience to remember those ordinary folks from our fine city.
  17. Actually if it was that bad: how at 3-0 down did we have stats showing we had 64% possession! That should equate to total annihilation of the opposition on Paper
  18. Tommy Forecast would be sent off in the first 10 minutes, two yellows: both for catching the ball and drop kicking it up field!!
  19. When we played Man U and beat them 1-0 a few years back Man U players commented that the pitch at SMS was running slow, that was because Strachan had told the groundstaff not to cut or water the grass prior to the game and had the team training on it in preparation for a slightly slower run of the ball. Looking at the bare patch next to the goal yesterday it didn't look too clever. Still at the same time we played like strangers at times looked a re run of Leicester.
  20. I think at the end of the day it is quite a shrewd move by the Government, despite the inconvenience. Union pipes up and thinks fuel drivers strike, pensions are a bit shy of what they should be, members being asked to work a bit quicker for their £45k-£50k a year for an 8 hour day, hint at pigging up the Easter Holidays with strikes when they think it will be most news worthy. The Government knows what the fuel stocks are around the country, whip up a little frenzy to deplete the stocks, the nations backs will be up as queues start up. As it works too well, downscale the issue, to prevent total shut down, but the nation is ****ed off already, so the Union suddenly knows that they will get zero support from the public and climbs down from the Easter threat. That dopey bint in the Kitchen just became a "casualty of war", no body could believe anyone could be so dense as to decant Petrol in the kitchen while the gas cooker is Switched on! If anyone is to blame beyond this stupid person, it's the Union for sparking talk of a strike and the media for whipping it up. Yeah "bloody Tories!" er coalition! Labour would have just pulled their own trousers down and bend over the desk and piddled more money up the wall.
  21. As soon as I saw it was you posting I automatically reached for the towel in in readiness for a rinsing................ dont expect us to be so nice the next time you sit with us!!! How I wish I was heading to Blackpool and not entertaining the family!
  22. Food got 10 folks needing a feed tomorrow lunchtime................. sorry for the confusion. Charlie Chans? Pilgrim House?....?.....?........
  23. Bit cheeky but put it here before for a bigger viewing prior to it bumping to the Lounge. Where is the best Chinese lunchtime Buffet in Southampton that isn't the order as you go all you can eat and leave anything and we charge you full menu rates? Cheers:D
  24. Blimey some folks are really tempting the Murray Walker "he has a clear track in front of him to the chequered flag...............................WOW: he has totally lost control of the car and its turning over and over" chickens counted backlash here. Charlton bloody Athletic!! Away live on Sky midday kick off!!!
  25. So long as there are a pair of Stilettos on the feet I could not give a monkeys!!!
