You’d have thought with the calibre of manager we have invested in, there was a strategy in place for this eventuality. With Sport Republic being knocked back on acquiring a couple of clubs already you can presume that there is some decent finance to hand. Having a womens football team operating at a professional level adds to the portfolio when going after other clubs.

Bit late to this party - Watson going is him standing by his word from a few years back “If Fraser leaves then I will” That was obviously before he was made set piece coach - which is a cockeyed position when JWP is rifling in Exocets

…………..and a thank you from me too 👍

Couple of yards outside the box?! He was just walking out of West Quay onto Above Bar! 😜🤪

Just have to sit in a Footie stadium on a regular basis to realise that they do live amongst us. Think I had the caller from Wolverhampton sat right behind me on Saturday - ordinary chap very pleasant to talk to before 3pm then the switch flicked “yam-yam-yam” schizophrenic watching the game in a parallel universe - probably still chuntering all down the M6 to home, gutted that Savage and Sutton weren’t doing 606 to sate his ire with.

Tuesday night against Liverpool just before they scored the winner - most fans sat around us were saying the same thing, we need to make a change to keep us in it. Then the inevitable happened. A bunch of ageing “idiots” up in the stands can see it, but a collective of highly paid “experts” in the dug out are seemingly blinkered, blind, or scared to state the obvious.

Probably because they figured none of us would be watching last night, nor remember it was in the vote that went wrong. Dublin went for JWP and Woodgate went for Kovacic (?) and got the casting vote as it was his first time on MOTD2 - neither did they take any notice of Chappers comment on the result “don’t worry Southampton fans both goals will be included in the vote at the end of the season”. Jeez I can be a sad anorak at times 😳🤪

Think the best example of this type of player was Jimmy Case - only due to be around for 12 months turned out to be our midfield lynchpin for 5 years (without consulting Wikipedia.

Is the Premier League too rich for us?
John Boy Saint replied to Lallana's Left Peg's topic in The Saints
surely Everton have to sell quite a bit before they can buy anything of any use - because their tuppence ha’penny from finishing position ain’t going to buy much. -
Salah scores

Brentford down to 9 men - used all subs then lost a player through injury - the had a player sent off

Good chance I was. Wolves fans were very quiet - except the one behind me calling cheat on Ware, first when she got a hefty kick in the back whilst laying on the pitch, then again when the same Wolves player got the second yellow having left 3 nasty stud marks across the back of Alicia’s thigh right in front of the 4th official. Coming out of the ground some old trout Wolves fan chirping “one song……..”, hmmmmm better than no song my dear.

Just on the ”Bingo bus” heading home - long old day but worth every penny of the £20 for Mrs JBS and me for a grand day out. Certainly was a cagey start, a combination of nervousness and rust from not playing for a while. The goal settled us, and the sending off seemed to shut down Wolves as if they were hoping not to be hammered just like other teams this season, whilst hoping to benefit from scraps of our errors to sneak a goal. Whilst the ladies game requires a different mindset to watch - you can easily enjoy the application and effort they put into the game. ……….oh and my sandwiches lasted to well beyond Newbury! 😳

U18 Premier League National Final: Saints 1-2 Man City
John Boy Saint replied to Matthew Le God's topic in The Saints
Wasn’t there a sort of youth champions league that ran as a sort of undercard for the main event and was played earlier in the day of the headline evening game - I think it might have been only during the group stage - I seem to recall my Chelsea supporting brother in law mentioning it quite recently. Taking a bunch of nippers with the main entourage minimised the expense and gave the lads some experience. -

I was tongue in cheek referring to the noisy urchins up the back of the Northam last night as apprentices to inhabit that stand in years to come: not where they lived - Just like the Chapel and Kingsland is peppered with “lads” who did their time running the gauntlet back in the dark days of the 1970s and 80s 😁 -

Ah it kept them off the streets for a couple of hours - certainly seemed like the Northam under 18s academy work experience up the back - reminding us of who they were with a chorus of “school in the morning, we’ll be in school in the morning”. I was good to be able to get to see what is on the pathway with us. There wasn’t much between the 2 teams overall in performance, they both made similar mistakes. You could see elements of the City play book in numerous passages of their play, but then I guess you know very clearly that to be the next Phil Foden the mountain to climb is a damn big one. Our boys acquitted themselves well, and think the “home” big crowd atmosphere did overwhelm or maybe influence them a little as the cheer for our opener was no doubt the biggest they had enjoyed all season, and in wanting to have some of that for themselves tried that little bit too much. The Sonny Davis free kick outside the box in front of a noisy Northam possibly illustrates that, when he got too far under the ball, his reaction was that it was his worst free kick of the season. -
Oh no - the media wankfest until August would be truly painful

You beat me to it - been class since coming on very steadying presence, in a game where the heat is taking its toll
