Atkinson and Mason - we're a nondescript game with hardly anyone watching - Atkinson seems to rely on someone talking in his ear to guide him through games since VAR came in letting them tell him what he should have seen. Watched a few games and the pause before blowing up for a bit of naughty play is often notable with him on the whistle.

Then you face an un cultured character like McBurnie who would be up “for settling it out in the car park” most probably had him thinking “where exactly is the line in the sand”. Watching the Chelsea cup game, I thought he was pretty good , him and Salisu seemed to have a connection.

Villa end most likely looked like there was space because sat in the ground just before kick off you could see a large amount of them shuffling up to to segregation netting to shout at the Northam, on the other side loads shuffled up to shout at block 1. As for the bonkers comment above 20-22k in attendance, obviously didn’t attend when we were on the latter stages of our voyage down to League One…………probably hypnotised by the new psychedelic winter ball.

Yeah I get that - but on the flip side you can’t deny our thrown in general are woeful - just needs working on to make it a smarter play. The other player with a big throw is Bednarek, so you might find that they feel Salisu taking the long throw over Jan because he has greater pace to recover if the play in the oppos box breaks down.

We given that they have only really been used this season - I can’t see what the issue is. As mentioned already our throw ins have been pretty crap over the years, almost - “Oh. right lads just before we have lunch quick sesh of throw ins”. Rory Delaps throw ins were crap when he played here - only when he got to Stoke did someone manage to get them finessed.

Why risk him let him recover a little more - last 2 goals he's scored on both occasions he has been wiped out after despatching the ball into the net. Let Adam and Che continue, Che is chipping in so tap into the vein while its running and Adam is not far off just needs to get his sights calibrated, if it ain't working, wheel out Armando. If we are playing like we have been a few games this season that will tighten the screw on Villa. Post match comment from Che post Watford about the competition now in the squad, pretty much said what we all want to hear, everyone has to be on top of their game now.

If word got out that they had lined up X to replace Bruce before they were rubber stamped to take over, that would have been just more flack to fend off. So not actually lining up X manager to replace Steve Bruce the moment they were finally allowed in was probably one less thing the media could throw at them, potentially prolonging the process even further.
