  1. Are they seeking a review or suing? You have said both. Personally, education is one area that shouldn't be cut, but that's not to say there should be carte blanche spending - money spent needs to be made more effective.
  2. come on McDowell!
  3. ********
  4. I presumed you asked them why they were booing or was that your own conclusion?
  5. When did booing of Cortese take place? The only reason for asking was that where I was there were two cases of booing, one for what I thought was for Malwhinney at the start when his name was announced (I wasn't looking at the screen) and the second, after each Mexican Wave failed with the Carlisle fans. It wasn't until coming on here that there was a connection to Cortese. Has anyone admitted booing at Cortese (rather than assummed they were)?
  6. Yes they would go. But I'd expect administration to happen first if it is not paid.
  7. If that's the case it may be worth having him on the bench to see who the opposion cope with a different game plan.
  8. ...
  9. In my old job many many years ago which was auditing at events I would be able to gain entry. I remember seeing the British Grand Prix, many golf tournaments including the Ryder Cup, Glastonbury, Oasis gig etc. Only thing was I never got to see the whole show but at least I got to see stuff/do that joe public couldn't!
  10. It certainly makes this forum more interesting with these anedotes, thanks LBA.
  11. One of the Stoke players is under 24 (I think), so makes it OK... apparently!
  12. Nick, if you want the watch story to not drift down the board, why not blog it? FF - when you say "a good offer" could it not be to find someone who would carry on his 5 year plan and have the same aspirations as him rather than money only (afterall it's small fry in his estate)?
  13. When Pardew was appointed I wasn't particularly enamored with the choice (the way he handle the players at WHU and Charlton, and his tactics). However, I was certainly willing to support him going into this season as at that time there weren't any major issues - only a poor pre-season, and the chance to remove him was gone, so was shocked at the timing of his sacking. I'm glad he's gone, given we have a manager who better understands the game, gets the players to play better football and makes better use of the resources. I still think promotion is possible, whether that's coming first, second or winning the play-offs I don't mind, afterall it's still September, we have a decent squad and a better manager.
  14. Depends on the trauma involved. Assuming it was a fall then the joint capsule and ligaments are usually torn, and the labrum may also be damaged. Once there has been a dislocation of the shoulder, the joint will have a degree of instability and will be more likely to dislocate again, or become subluxed (where it moves slightly but not fully out of joint). This is because the ligaments, capsule and labrum are damaged and cannot restrain the humeral head and prevent dislocation. In order to prevent dislocation, the Rotator Cuff muscles (4 small muscles situated around the shoulder joint) that surround the humeral head should be strengthened. Sporting activity should be avoided for 6-8 weeks for rest and then strengthening exercise. Only then should sport training be persued (after clearance from medical team).
  15. Love the saints names on this match from the rovers website
  16. AA - the skates administrator?
  17. It's strange that there is a call for management stability and yet when it comes to players in the squad, it becomes more of a chop and change to suit the moment especially as money was and still(?) there to spend. We don't need to buy our way out of the division, I cannot remember Norwich, Leeds, S****horpe, Doncaster etc doing so. Besides, how does that help build a sustainable and well developed squad? Over the past few years before last season we have used 30+ players in the starting line-up and have struggled, whereas generally those teams that use The development centre is part of the 5-year plan so there needs to be a balance of players we have (contract, age, ambition) with players coming up through the club (experience, readiness) and those purchased (team fit, cost). I can see why Adkins is a better suited than Pardew on this considering Adkins has had to use the resources given to him to succeed rather than buy his way out - Pardew averages ten buys per season to Adkins six. I'm sure he will be given time by Cortese and the team will start working well together soon.
  18. It's really not worth knowing.
  19. unwrapped
  20. No they don't, their digestive system is completely different, any gases would be released through the Booklung or Spiracle.
  21. What is time?
  22. So it'll be Hammond as he has been slated so much on here then... I wonder what his odds are?
  23. Adkins was very good at scunny in getting the team organised for set pieces so I expect there will be a huge improvement as the season progresses.
  24. Exactly, so can easily be loaned out. Not that we have a chance.
  25. You didn't look at the link did you?
