Does anyone know how of an institution over here which we accept swiss shares? Edit: found some on http://www.apcims.co.uk
  2. Test run?
  3. I agree, pre-season expectation may have been built too high but I was expecting more, something like how Brighton have done it this season. However it came crashing down with the manager debacle which, since the appoint of Adkins I still expect promotion and it hasn't helped with always having games in hand so seemingly viewed as off the pace.
  4. ...and I've seen teams buckle under expectation or not perform having done the hard part of obtaining a promotion place. It'll be an interesting game and I'm glad we play them at this time. EDIT: Even if they are that far ahead that title is won, teams don't always perform having done the job.
  5. We better start with a winning run, three wins will see us put the pressure on Huddersfield and Peterborough.
  6. I like the quote... "In many ways he is similar to Peter Crouch" but doesn't state them, only saying " although he is much more of a 'natural goalscorer' than Crouchy." lol
  7. ...but his mind is already on the international game ;-)
  8. Latest development on the situation. It could be bad for them unless demands are dropped from either purchaser or stake holder.
  9. A nice place to sizzle a sausage. I've had a mixture, the best boss I've had got shafted for supporting one of his staff and the worst, a chocolate tea-pot kind who got promoted!
  10. A good point which should go back to the development management team, also perhaps if we were in Brighton's situation this would have happened where they have (more or less) sown up promotion??? If Schnierderlin is out for the season, perhaps it's better to bring someone in when we can rather than be caught out at this critical stage. It also gives the option to drop a player if they are off form. Given it's only a small possibility, I wouldn't like to see a combination of Gobern and one of McNish/Reeves/Dean in the centre of midfield right now.
  11. ...and this comment is hilarious as it is presumptuous. No signing is guaranteed to work out based on the player's PROPER(?) experience. Anyway, onto the signing, Dale is used to the league, can score goals and make goals, is Oldham's Vice Captain and wants to see his career progress. Hopefully he can make a impact for Saints and help get us second spot. Not as good as Howard from an eligibility perspective with experience at a higher level but maybe more suitable to our needs, all of which is assuming Howard could have been a Saints player.
  12. He's at least 21. As 23 is too old to be a future premeirship star, he must be 21, which gives him two years to get there... coincidence with our five year plan?
  13. I don't see how you can say Brighton, top since September, have fluked the league!
  14. My nearest is: 31.64 miles L2 Barnet Football Club 33.46 miles PR Tottenham Hotspur Football Club 33.90 miles L1 MK Dons Football Club 34.96 miles CH Watford Football Club . . . 101.55 miles L1 Southampton Football Club and furthest: 360.70 miles SCP Aberdeen Football Club
  15. Whilst I don't agree with Alpine as he has no sense of perspective (haven't we been here before this season?). It was a great opportunity to take control and seize second place. Yes, it was unfortunate about the injuries but we have a squad, with N'Guessen and Forte who can provide similar roles. Charlton were in bad form and I thought it bad not to take advantage, however, second is still achievable and they BL00DY well should do it!
  16. There is nothing like an Alpine downer after a game. We should have won but second is still there to be claimed.
  17. Saturday, 2 April 2011 Reading v Portsmouth Saturday, 9 April 2011 Portsmouth v Preston Tuesday, 12 April 2011 Portsmouth v Coventry Saturday, 16 April 2011 Cardiff v Portsmouth Saturday, 23 April 2011 Portsmouth v Swansea Monday, 25 April 2011 Burnley v Portsmouth Saturday, 30 April 2011 Portsmouth v Norwich Saturday, 7 May 2011 S****horpe v Portsmouth Only a couple of easy games there, not enough for seven teams above them to mess up for them to get sixth... surely?
  18. Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero.
  19. When it comes to accidents, it's better to be behind a big heavy lorry than in front of it.
  20. I can see the MK Dons being the tricky game. I'm hoping for a new record of league wins in a row as it would mean the bus is rocketing to second place and primed for top if Brighton slip up. This is the time to show Saints being worth of an automatic promotion spot.
  21. Megson is the manager iirc.
  22. Umm... so when it comes to a violent uprising and the dictator uses military force, we act. When it comes to an election fix to keep a dictator in and torture, starvation and terror to keep the populus down we ignore.
  23. Buying books are more expensive, around 10-15% more.
