League Table since Adkins - indications for 2nd half of season?
Doctoroncall replied to NickG's topic in The Saints
It would be interesting, although I think there are a couple of points to consider: 1) We are playing catch up and it maybe the case of we cannot afford to experiment in case it goes wrong. Which begs the question are the players/coaching staff good enough to adopt to a new strategy to cope with an injured player? 2) Currently we switch between a diamond and a flat(ish) midfield, try and pass the ball and press the opposition when we don't have the ball. This has worked fairly well, we've kept pace with Brighton since Adkins came in and perhaps if we hadn't had games postponed and were up the table with points on the board rather than games in hand. What is frustrating is the fact the players don't perform as well as they can (Oldham A, Tranmere H) consistenly and should be picking up a few more points (no I'm not talking about winning every game). -

And that would be a sign of a good manager and team - to be able to pick up points while coping with a lose/change to the team. -

That goes without saying and is the wrong way to look at things. Without finding out first, what measure would you use as an indicator as to how things are likely to turn out come the end of the season and why? -
The difference between Southampton and bournemouth.....

You're got it right with the capital 'S' and lowercase 'b' in the place names. lol. -
You beat me to it. Jaidi defends differently to Seaborne and would have struggled if he had to keep the high line with so much attacking pace. I feel Seaborne is an adequate defender atm, has certainly progressed this season with his control etc etc but there is still more needed and hopefully he can deliever. As for Martin, Saints rebuffed an approach from West Ham for him so I hope it means he still has a future here and we get to see him more.

Halford (loan) Hogg (loan) De laet (loan) Sonko (loan) Dickinson (loan) Cotterill (loan) They can still get two more in although four out of the eight must be under 23 and five at most can play at one time (I'm not sure if that is on the pitch or in the starting 11 plus subs).

I agree, no reason why we cannot do both, although it's not going to happen ever game. So far since Adkins has been in place, we're matched Brighton point by point (may even be a couple in our favour) so the automatic promotion chase has been there.

This still needs to be voted on but from the recommendation it's going to go to West Ham. Three things: I thought if a club wanted to move they need approval (although Wimbledon found it easy enough although there was no other league club at MK) The back seats may well be closer than the 80,000 capacity Wembley, but how much further away from the pitch will the front seats be? As this is a temporary multi-pupose stadium, i just can't imagine that it's going to be that good for any sports. I feel for the Orient fans, they have Hearn as a chairman and now this to deal with.

"...But anyone that is willing to invest money in the club will be welcomed," he [beech] said. I suppose they're already sold their souls accepting Gaydamak as owner, so other 'dirty' money will not matter. Shameless whores. Will Lampit have any objections I wonder.

Join groups such as LinkedIn. You'll be able to see what others do in the profession you are interested in and the different styles of CVs. Otherwise take heed of Saint si's reply and you will not go wrong. If you get an interview, then the hard work starts so don't be lazy and do nothing. Research the company/division, latest news of that field/expertise. Also, dependent on what sort of professional work you entering, you may want to get family/friends to think of some tough questions and see how you would handle them - try and get to a position, provide some evidence, any benefits and a short positive conclusion. If you're unsure of the quesion, instead of intimating you don't know/cannot understand the question, restate the question "I believe you're asking ..." as it shows you were listen but may not of got the interpretation correct. If you get nervous, use the compose cycle: accept reaction, change posture, breathe deep and slowly, get comfortable, regain confidence.

I have the new type Honda CRV. Great for the kids and going around the UK on holiday with. Also good for taking large stuff to the tip. I can still get in the garage so not a huge car and four years of trouble free motoring so far. Not sure what you can expect for £6k though.
