Could save us a few quid in transfer fee if we go back for him next week. With the money we save in transfer fee we may offer more in wages or bonus'. If he is holing out for more money I would prolly tell him to get stuffed as I suspect Pards will have an input on what a player may be worth so trust the club will be offering wages within reason compared to what the business can sustain. Dont want any pre-madona's wasting cash like before.

I dont get this, PFC Statement Portsmouth Football Club has not been formally served with a winding up petition and is shocked and surprised this action has been taken in respect of VAT, PAYE and National Insurance Contributions which either have been, or are about to be paid, or are disputed They say they have not been formally served with a winding up petition but they are suprised this action has been taken? If thats there argument then they are royally fooked lol

in a twisted way I read this post and for a second actually felt glad we had Rupes about. For all the bad he did our club he at least tried to keep our club working with steady financial setup. Poopy's lot seemed to have made one mess after another without considering what the end result may be. I think our position has been a steady groan of going no-where fast over a long period of time which is a million miles better than charging full speed ahead into Bancrupcy IMO.

As im in Torquay I thought I might be able to find it on a local radio station so tried to search and found this. http://www.bbc.co.uk/devon/mediaplayer/exeter_city_commentary.shtml No idea if it will work or not as I have never used it before but its worth a shot I suppose.

Bit shocked at this to be honest. This kid has come from no-where straight into the bench of a club that has on paper one of the strongest teams in this division. Is he really that good? not trying to suggest we are amazing or above ourselves but still seems a bit odd. Good luck to the lad and I hope Pards has found a gem. Will be trying to find a radio link for this one so if anyone has anything other than saints player id appreciate it.

I think its difficult to judge Forcast as I doubt many have seen him play. Not many have seen Poke play but most recognise he is one of the future so perhaps they are on a similar level? I was hoping that Pulis would se the move as a challenge and step up a gear to show that he has the right to play footy proffesionally rather than get a free pass cause his dad manages a prem team but it doesnt look like he has found his level yet. As with all transfers though, players are bought because they are supposed to be fantaastic, could be fantastic, ment to be the type of player a particular manager thinks the team need or in the right place at the right time. Its always a gamble. Man U took Forlan as there next goal machine! How many did he score there? The gambles taken in the past few years were all punts from way behind any sensible and rational thinking because the people in charge were desperate to turn things around. If one or two of those punts came off the pay back would have justified the effort. Say for instance the kids team had played with no fear and bagged a hatfull of goals in the 1st few games? they could of then gone onto that winning mentality and taken the league by suprise. Problem was when they didnt get the goals and they started conceding. Thats when they needed the experience around them to stop the games going the wrong way. Down hill from there. Now aday's it doesnt look like there will be many gambles although it may take a couple of years to get the likes of Pulis off the wage bill and fill the squad with quality from top to bottom.

Sometimes its not about resting players but preventing the risk of getting important players injured. Loose our main goal scorers for 4 weeks of the league and we will be struggling again. While the cup run's are nice and give us a chance of some silverware or days out the club will only move forward if it pushes up through the leagues. Like others have said, giving Papa, Pato, Mills and Thomas a run out might not be a bad idea as they are the ones that we expect to replace our top players from the subs bench so they should be up to the task. I dont think we have a strong enough youth squad to throw any of them in though.

LOL yet people still pay for it and therefor justify it. Chuffed we are 1 up though COYS!

I pay my BBC licence fee so should be able to listen to the BBC comentary. If I want to hear the Sky reports I have to pay extra for the Sky package. The same should be so for the Saints player comentary. If its exclusive to saints player and is only saints then I should at least have the choice of sticking with the BBC or going exclusivly saints. Not right IMO so choose to miss out. Have we put them under any pressure yet?

Portsmouth fail to pay their players again...

Having new owners didnt help Luton out when the FA/League punished them for the previous owners mistakes. I see what your saying but if the FA was going to help a club out because its not being naughty any more then I would have taken over at SFC and run up millions in debt so we have the best players then go bankrupt. Let Marcus have the club for a quid and have the FA help him out cause he will do things properly from now on. I think actions need to be taken to force all clubs to run in the black rather than in the red. Or set a limit according to earnings on how far in the red clubs can go. Say 10% of there value can be debt but the rest of funds need to be debt free. That might not help the smaller clubs get bigger too quick but it will stop all clubs running the risk of owing more than they can afford. It might actually put a few of the big clubs in trouble right now. But its probably the smaller clubs trying to emulate the bigger clubs with massive amounts of debt that is causeing some of the problems. -

Trouble is, its not the league that will or can put them into administration. The PFA can step in and impose sanctions on them for not paying the players but until the owners or banks refuse to support them with money they will remain out of admin. If there is a bank involved then its only a matter of time before it cuts its loss's and goes for the admin route. But I thought this Saudi bloke is drawing funds from rich people rather than from rich banks. Not sure how that would work in them forcing pompey into admin though. What will probably happen is come January most of the players will be sold off to get the wage bill down and settlments will be made with players via the PFA to cover what they may be owed. Pompey will fall like a stone and some rich people will be out of pocket. The jammy gits will prob never get anywhere near admin and therefor not see any - points. They wont need the points deduction anyway as without there big earners they are a crock of crap so will relegate themselves soon enough. -
Another argument for Video technology. Bit harsh on Northampton as they have had some good chances and been done by the officials a couple of times. Wont lose sleep though. COYS's

Fair enough I suppose. If he has the ability and just needs games under his belt then a loan move would be good. Sounds like he knows he still has much to learn and will learn more staying here learning off others that are better. He might be setting his sights a little high as with Lambert and DC his chances are very slim to get a game but if he can learn from them he will be a better player. Saga himself has been looking for a club for ages so got frozen out of the 1st team. If he was good enough he would have got the games under his belt too but he isnt so wont. When Adebeyor wanted out of Arsenal he still got a game every week because he still trained and put 100% in when on the pitch. They had other options but proffesionally he was still doing the business so still got games. Saga on the other hand is training to find another club and thats about it.

I think if we can get Murty fit for the rest of the season then James will be in that DM role and at league 1 at least should do a good enough job. Still think we need cover for that area as I cant see Murty staying fit for the season.
-
What I would like to know though is why the hell has MLT not been arrested and flogged in the square for this outragous act of cheatism! I demand Answers dam it!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
I wasnt trying to have a pop bud. I found it fasinating but thought it was funny that I found the questions funny without knowing the answers. lol. If I get the chance to have an evening with MLT I will certainly be taking the opertunity.
-
In strange way Phils OP looks like he was reporting on the questions rather than the answers. 1st time I have ever seen that happen. Great reading without learning much lol.

Not that I am agreeing with either of you but I can see both's point of view. Lawrie will always be a saints legend for what he did in the past. What he did after that I would prefer not to recall to much of. So remembered fondly for the FA Cup and a team on the up and leave it there for me. I would be interested to see what role NC might wish to have Lawrie back at the club as if any but im guessing it would be more of a nostalgic role than anything more impacting. I can see the point on LeTiss too as before lending his name to a couple of Jokers his saints record was pretty much faultless. I feel sorry for him for getting it wrong but will never hold anything againsts him for backing the wrong horse. He was sucked in as much as many of us at a time when we all wanted a miracle. The main shareholder argument will never die I think as people will always bring it up just to have a pop at someone who used to support one side or another. IMO none of the 3 were worth backing on there own and none of them cared enough about the club to work together to try and save it. So with hindsight the best outcome happened and they all lost out and the fans got owners that seem to want things done right and proper. If we never make it back to the top flight but always do things the right way it will be a pleasure to support our team every season. NC if he ever reads any of these posts would probably think there are mixed views on the past, present and future. But thats to be expected with anything and everything so I doubt he will single out anyone as anything more than just saints fans.

For there goal we still had a player on our goal line when there winger recieved the ball so was no-where near offside. There was an offside called for them which never was too. In all I think the poor decissions worked in our favour last night. The current offside rule is very flakey to say the least. It seems the rule was put in to prevent goal hanging and to make the match a bit more competitive. Now there seem to be so many ways to interperate it, refs players and fans find it hard to keep up. I think they need to find a way to simplify it without causeing the game to stop and start every time someone kicks the ball. Some kind of technology that only comes into play in the last 3rd of the pitch might work but that would also have problems and half the fun of football is the factor of human error so as much as I think we could do with some technology to help us out I wouldnt want to ruin it by getting rid of all mistakes.

Think I still have it on my sky +. Long way to come to watch it though. lol

I liked it when Franny kept saying "We" when refering to saints then remembering he is on TV corrected himself to say the saints. Like he was trying to remain unbias for the camera's lol.

IMO he was the reason Wise looked like he was doing well at Leeds. They went to poo once he left for Spuds. Im suprised its only till the end of the season, maybe he didnt want longer than that as he wants to make the step up by then so will just use Brighton to get where he wants. They are defo stronger with him than without.
