  1. Egypt 2 England 0 Iraq 2 Chile 1 England out and bottom of the Group Iraq win the Group from Chile Iraq 7 pts Chile 5 pts Egypt 3 points England 2 pts shows how poor we really are when our team is meant to be made up of premiere standard players!
  2. Well at least we are getting well know all around the world with the football forums in Brazil and across Europe all talking about us Good free publicity this idea of putting in high offers for good players if they don't accept and if they do wow!
  3. Morgan was the first player to be convinced by "the project" back in the early dark league 1 days when it looked so unlikely! His leaving now would be a great blow given it is so much closer to fruition and would surely have a huge effect on convincing others to stay (Ramierez) and new players to join! Morgan is a key part part of Southampton having joined at such a young age and experienced the full downs and ups of the journey so far Can't see this happening in any way and especially not to Real Sociedad
  4. Why have Udinese sent him on loan? Hope whoever is keeping him out is bl**dy good!
  5. It is true that the continent and other countries focus much more on technical ability at a younge rage and are much less focused on results leading to an overall crop of more skillful players to choose from. It is still the case that the vast majority of our early years boys teams are still mainily focused on player size and early age physical abilities combined with a long ball winning game as technical skills need far more patience to develop and lead to many more mistakes during development at the younger ages. This results in young technically gifted players often being overlooked on a size basis before growth has fully set in or even having those skills coached out rather than nurtured and encouraged as part of the need to win . The result of this is poorer players in later years. Even countries with relatively little investment and facilities in junior coaching whose youngsters still follow a largely jumpers for goalposts way of random development like the Iraqs, Egypts and Chiles of this world seem to have a reasonable choice of skillful young players to choose from compared to ours!
  6. The problem with the transfer market window system is the window is open too long and everyone holds out till the last few days hoping for a better deal! would be better to have the market open for just 2 or 3 weeks then players and agents would have to make up their minds quicker or risk missing out totally! They should also end the window before and not after the seasons start across Europe to allow new players to settle in!
  7. Are you damning a whole countrys footballers based on one player? (OK 2 if you include Kelber Chala too)!
  8. Chile 1 England 1 Iraq 2 Egypt 1 Table p W D L F A Pts 1st Iraq 2 1 1 0 4 3 4 2nd Chile 2 1 1 0 2 1 4 3rd England 2 0 2 0 3 3 2 4th Egypt 2 0 0 2 2 4 0 Iraq looked damn good v Egypt maybe England were not that bad after all!
  9. Top clubs can easily afford top accountants! Also Not sure just because NC is a top sports banker that he is necessarily a UK tax expert too!
  10. There are more good players than teams! As the window gets closer more decisons will be made as market forces come into play! patience is required.
  11. The The Daily record Article was generally doing OK, that is until it said he prefers Cardiff! At that point it lost all credibility.
  12. Maybe we will buy all three! will be interestring to see who we will get!
  13. The car was a warning if you dont sign for southampton next comes the horses head! Is he still reluctant to sign for a club like ours!
  14. Nice one Turks!
  15. The Transfer Committee and the manager obviously think differently to you!
  16. Premier league you can add Monk and Dyer from Swansea
  17. Terry Curran was another disappointment apart from his one and only crucial goal home to Leeds in the league cup semi final!
  18. Boa Morte, Carlton Palmer Perry Groves all big disappointments Charlie George Peter Osgood both bought still at their peak but never really justified the fees consistently Frank Worthington Joe Jordan came to late in their careers some good performances but not enough Prutton England under 21 never really lived up to the potential Speedie and Dixon replaced Shearer never did anything at all But Delgado is probably the bigest disappointment given the return against the initial hype
  19. That wouldn't be good for their motivation pre season would it ?
  20. losing 1-0 to Israel now and rock bottom in the group
  21. If we are looking to buy another Uruguyan surely we wouldnt be keen to ship an exisitng young one out on the basis he doesnt like living here or hasn't settled in! Wouldn't be very clever would it?
  22. it's true! Apparently the Glazers are negotiating a large loan for Moyes next season with a famous Cardiologist!
  23. Harry is a "football man" who seems to want total control of others peoples money. Money he then wastes lumbering them with a long term legacy of has beens on expensive long term contracts. It is time chairmen saw through this and made him responsible for getting the club budgets back in shape before allowing him to spend more!
  24. ERR QPR had in theory an almost Championship league side! didn't do them much good last year. Yes you need a good side but you also need a good team, good tactics, and play the right systems. nigel played as important if not more important part than the players in our rise and this must not be forgotten or dissmissed even though he has moved on! Cheesy fipchart yes but good luck to him!
