  1. I would have spent money on someone like Lampard (who is not playing as much at chelsea) as he would have been a great midfield captain who could help us adjust to life in prem - plus he is obviously quality. Bit of a Jimmy Case/Alan Ball type role. Dawson Friedal (experience of playing with Dawson would add extra strength to the defence) Wouldn't have bothered with Mayuka based on what we've seen so far (which is very little) or Boruc - can't think of a third
  2. 5 - QPR and Newcastle were properly shyte and 8 - we're starting to gel as a team
  3. anything we didn't already know or hasn't already been covered?? It might be a "normal" story but it's still nothing - the point i was trying to make was that it's a good example of the press making something out of nothing. That's all - didn't realise it would be such an emotive subject for you.
  4. christ, an absolute nothing story trying to create added interest to a fairly alsoran premier fixture pardew and adkins are both good young-ish english managers and i'm sure they share a similar perspective on how to run a football team - therefore i'd be surprised if they didn't get on, especially as there aren't many of their type around.
  5. i think they'll give us a hiding
  6. renault - shyyte
  7. we will lose because we're not very good, especially away
  8. HE'S NOT GOOD ENOUGH!!! he was barely up to it in the champ for christ sake - what we have is better than him. Park your sentimental shyte and get real.
  9. Understandable if he's a bit hacked off. Most teams in our position would build a team around Lambert, however we seem to have built ours around cortese
  10. For christ sake, when will some people get over the fact that Hammond was average last season and would make a bad team worse if he was still in the squad. We're shyte, nothing more complicated than that, and IF the club really want to stay up then something has to change - whether it's our intended style of play, the formation, the players, the manager or coaching who knows but there it's going very badly wrong right now and you don't improve by keeping on doing the same thing.
  11. spurs my whole family support spuds so i have a huge soft spot for them and in return they love to see saints win - i saw them lose 3-2 at wembley in the fa cup and have seen some amazing games, bring on the abuse......
  12. there's far less training ground itk type gossip these days and probably too much "if you had a choice between redknapp, relegation, the plague or 24hr darkness" suggested debate but it's a forum so people can post what they like - if you don't like it then don't log in.
  13. Punch is crap, flatters to deceive - his passing is some of the worst in the team and we all know his attitude is awful.
  14. I wonder how many of the squad know what assertive means
  15. how about if he's brought in as a director of football to help nigel out he took spurs from bottom of prem to top 6 - you can't deny he knows his stuff regardless of his messy tenure at st marys last time
  16. sharp is too slow for the prem - we're keeping him warm for when we get relegated
  17. Although I don't quite agree with the sentiment of the headline, this is a spot on summary of what most of us have been saying for a while http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/premier-league/allardyces-smart-summer-buys-put-the-extravagance-of-adkins-to-shame-8219937.html
  18. some w4nky london agency probably came up with the idea or how amazing it would be to have alternate lines of players in the red and then white strip - its a totally forgettable relegation kit
  19. I bet west ham can't believe their luck! WTF does adkins see in guly - he is terrible, punch ain't much better - we are going to get a proper spanking
  20. This is pretty much what the deal is. I've been taking my lad to a few games each season since he was 7 and is a rock solid saints fan (even when we were in L1) which isn't bad considering we live in SE London and are surrounded by chelsea, arsenal, spurs fans. So if the ambition is to nuture future fans (esp when you don't live nearby) then it's working. Better segregation would be nice though so i know i'll avoid those two loud mouth fat ginger scumbags next time. I think family club was coined in the 80s when some grounds started introducing defined "family areas".
  21. Couldn't agree more - I'm sure NA feels a bit stitched up because he'll be getting criticised for our poor performance in an area he has always said we needed to strengthen, only for some muppet behind the scenes to screw up the negotiations (I am making assumptions here but thats how it looks). I don't think anyone expected us to blitz this league but i think we shold expect to be doing better than we are, especially with the transfer budget we clearly had! Unfortunately I think Nige will be the fall guy which is a big shame but we need to get someone in who can make what we have got play better - maybe he needs a director of football to help out?!?!
  22. If a striker from the top 4 had scored that they would have been creaming themselves on MOTD etc
  23. we'll loan him out nothing to do with dis-respect which is a slightly melodramatic reaction, just the realities of where we are.
  24. I'm stunned some posters think it was a bad attendance yesterday - get a grip you miserable t0ssers. If we're analysing it, another factor as to why we were so disgustingly, can't believe it, plastic and JCL losers short of full capacity might be because pay day for most is next week and therefore money tight.
  25. celtic fans absolutely love him - looks like a superb signing
