  1. it's distinctive and unique - our results are far more important.
  2. a slight increase to 36k would probably be a more realistic capacity, I just don't think we have a big enough support base to warrant anything much larger (although a couple of top 4 finishes in the prem may change that!). All clubs will have a natural maximum attendance and all clubs will have a mix of weekly and occassional attendees - even manure etc. I do think we'd regularly see an empty looking stadium if we went to 44k which would make for a ****e atmosphere.
  3. he's clearly just p1ssed off and is epxressing it in his usual measured way. As some of us have been saying for ages we need a qualty CB, CM and a striker at least of the class of rickie.
  4. Were they?? Blimey, saw them at uni (poly) a few times in the very early 90s - thought they were a bunch of northern scumbags.
  5. http://www.drfc-vsc.co.uk/index.php?option=com_kunena&func=view&catid=999999&id=202862&Itemid=108 They're not too optimistic
  6. Put our performance in context of the high quality of the league this year, makes it even more impressive.
  7. Clear layout with most focus on your recent employment. Make sure all experience/achievements are tailored to the role you're applying for. I'm not a big fan of the personal statement as I think it's meaningless (you could write anything you like to be honest) and you'll get grilled on it in the interview, agree you can leave all that to the letter.
  8. Popular hollywood trend of remaking these sorts of films - follows Burtons Alice from last year. The Julia Roberts one looks terrible (like most of her recent movies) and the Kristen Stewart version has a touch more sophistication but ever so slightly self-indulgent.
  9. If we don't get promoted this season and lambert gets lured away, then I can see him as an option provided he proves his fitness with bournemouth
  10. CB, CM and a top class striker - we need someone else to take those chances, how many times have we heard that we should have scored many more than we did?
  11. There's also a book called Good to Great, about companies that out perform the rest - talks about the bus and ensuring you have the irght people on it and being resolute in your approach. Reckon he's read this too.
  12. To those that want to stay in the champ because being in the prem as a mediocre team - well, that doesn't really work does it! Being a mid table prem team would mean positions 15-10, roughly, and to stay in the champ we would need to finish 7th or worse - not much difference. Except of course you can have Millwall or Bristol City as visitors to SMS or the likes of Man U etc, I know which I'd prefer. Go up as champions (why one earth anyone would aspire to finish 3rd I don't know), strengthen the squad and continue our success in the top flight for all to see.
  13. we owe them one and lots of the squad know that - i think the idea of going to their toilet of a ground with a vastly better team and the potential to hammer them will be nicely motivating.
  14. FFS - the level of unbridalled infatuation with our manager and team is sick making. NA is a fantastic manager and far far better than anyone could have hoped, but to suggest he's the only one who would pick a player with a certain attribute that could defeat the opposition is frankly ridiculous. It's called playing to your strengths isn't it?
  15. certainly better than nicholl he's clearly bl00dy good at what he does, hopefully we'll have him for a few years to earn his legendary status!
  16. Yeah that's right mate - booo to all those fans who can't make every game, rather they'd stay away and keep the attendance down to the 20k die hard locals
  17. I would say that at the start of the season it was going to be an attractive fixture anyway, then you add in the top two clash element and the fact that it's our first game at home after an international break.
  18. vs Liverpool at The Dell, March 1984?
  19. Anyone care?
  20. No - I think some people are getting lost in Saints-land where all our players are secretly much better than everyone else realises. Put the tissues away, zip up your trousers and get back to work.
  21. A draw would be a good result - they seem pretty mixed in their forecasts. Reckon our defence will need to be rock solid for this one.
  22. So relegation back to L1 would be you're ambition for the club? You must have been gutted when we got promoted with all those expensive ticket prices it has brought us.
  23. ha ha , QED? you're a clever boy aren't you - ok maybe not every game, but a much higher average gate than we have now.
  24. Strange question - can't believe some would prefer not to go up, doesn't say much of their own ambition for the club. What if life in the premiership meant a strong top 10 side and weekly gates at full capacity?
  25. Reckon it'll be a big gate - ticket office woman said "there aren't many left, it'll be busy"
