2-0 v Liverpool at The Dell March 1984 Friday night and the atmosphere was like nothing i've experienced since. They were top, we were second (i think) and wallace scored two great goals.

Will Cortese send adkins on his way should we not secure promotion?
Supersubpuckett replied to Mr X's topic in The Saints
LOL We'd already lost four league games by the time Nige climbed on board, based on form under him those games would be worth about 9 points which would put us well clear in second with three games in hand. If anything he is under-rated, especially as he inherited a squad which was arguably low on morale and of questionable fitness. -
1. Lallana - we don't win without him 2. Lambert - all those goals and assists 3. Any player from fonte, harding, chambo & barnard
-
Barnard is an asset to the team, aside from the fact he can finish he gets stuck in and shows some passion which precious few of the others do - when he came on against swindon in place of that lazy, casual brazilian enigma he was a breath of fresh air. If he played against us he run rings round our defence. Rickie has failings too, so why are LBs being picked on here?

hopefully we'll never feel the need to place "cr" at the beginning. -
None of them will fancy playing us - home or away
-
Their away record isn't good and they have MK Dons, Udds and Orient to play on their travels. Some big talk from Boyd on the BBC site too.... http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/p/peterborough_united/9424096.stm

How about ESPN (which is owned by Disney)

I think we play better against the top sides (although I'm sure someone will quickly point out if i'm wrong) so I'm less worried about bompey etc than some of the crud at the bottom of the table - Tranmere, Walsall.....

Also shows that some people take things a little toooooo seriously....

Adkins: "There is scope to dip into the loan market"
Supersubpuckett replied to trousers's topic in The Saints
NA is obviously putting a positive spin on a disappointing transfer window - we had the money and made some offers but they didn't come off. Maybe it was Nigels fault or NC's or outside the clubs control but either way he's trying to send a positive message in what must be a highly pressured and political environment. I get the feeling though that as far as finances go we've got what we've got and the "family" won't be supplying anymore cash than whatever sits in the coffers right now. -
Something just not right at the moment
Supersubpuckett replied to Fitzhugh Fella's topic in The Saints
we won't end up second and will have to battle it out in the play offs but we're not cut out for that sort of fight. Adkins has us playing very measured football, reminds me of svens england, but we have no fire in our bellies when situations require it. Even though we easily beat swindon on saturday there were some dreadful performances that really stuck out and hammond is the worst. His presence was non existent and passing fvkin terrible. Raidi is also incredibly vulnerable at the back as he is sooooo slow - we need a leader in midfield, a more mobile cb and an more ruthless positive attitude. -

adkins is too academic, sometimes you just need some passion and fight and get at them - its the play offs for us -
We have a great fan base and the attendance was excellent - plenty of noise in the second half. I don't think we're any different to most other clubs. If you're team plays crap and below their potential then the fans are bound to show frustration, in the same way we go mental when we score. Last week charlton had to give their tickets away at £5 to get an attendance of 24k, we managed nearly as many without needing to discount.
-
far too casual and complacent in the first half, much better and sharper in the second. Agree barnard was a good addition as he added some spice up front, Guly is frustrating to watch. Butterfield terrible in the first, more assured in the second and I thought chaplow tackled well.
-
Wilson says all the pressure is on us and his team can perform without any pressure...... except that of RELEGATION!! It's key we score first and early.

Forever Saints (except Kevin Phillips the little ****) Heaven Saint

Anyone else starting to worry about fixture pile-up ?
Supersubpuckett replied to alpine_saint's topic in The Saints
My thoughts exactly -
I took my lad to the charlton game yesterday (local-ish side and £5 tickets) and they were awful, had nothing going forward - Exeter looked much more lively and played the better football. We shouldn't have anything to fear....
