We're one of very few championship clubs not to have signed anyone yet. The recent interviews with NA see him talk about how we've made offers and the chairman is fully behind - all delivered with a very concerned expression. Could it be he's coming under pressure because we haven't landed any targets yet. Must admit i'm quite surprised we still haven't made a signing - especially given our ambitions. We so obviously need 4/5 new players as the current squad just won't be good enough.

Branfoot was such a disaster, typified everything about our early/mid 90's struggle. The thing that exemplifies his incompetence was the time we went on a fairly healthy run which took us into the top 10, only for him to replace some players with returning from injury senior players (Hurlock!!), I don't think we won another game and finished just above relegation.

According to the journo, doesn't sound like he's interested in us anyway.

Sounds positive to me, if we're difficult to deal that means we're no pushovers and I would imagine NC is a good negotiator. My view is that agents are lazy and chase the easy money, so any club that makes them work for it won't be liked as much.

We need to develop our academy players by letting them play with quality senior professionals - we need to bring in some new blood for this season, especially as it's going to be such a tough league. I agree with the view that 4/5 signings would be about right - 2 at the back, then 2 or 3 across midfield and attack. We can't simply stand still and get all nostalgic about last seasons squad.

I think a suite would be appropriate, stands should be named after club legends - Le Tissier, Channon, Paine. I also think this thread has been done before.

Totally disagree - although the NPC looks like it will be a very strong league next year with lots of big clubs (and I exclude Brighton from that).

We're a club that I think most other fans/clubs either don't mind too much or feel pretty nuetral about - we're hardly in the league of leeds or millwall for universal hatred! Aside from pompey and one or two other questionably local sides I don't get the impression we're hated. I've read a few times on other clubs forums that they enjoy our visits as we bring a good number and are vocal. Anyone supporting title chasing prem sides in the 90s would have loved us for the spankings we dished out to man u. But this sort of thread once again backs up the view that we're arrogant and have an inflated view of ourselves.

Put yourself in Hudds shoes, their only realistic option is to get maximum points in the remaining two - if we think they are relentless in winning, they think the same about us and we have the extra game. They will be under just as much pressure - one scenario that nobody has mentioned is they lose their final two games making it academic what we do from here on in. Think we should just sit back and enjoy the ride.......
