Post Match Reaction: SAINTS 0-0 West Ham
Supersubpuckett replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
start with gaston instead of lambert, jwp instead of j-rod and then up the tempo considerably i thought sam got his tactics spot on, everyone knows exactly how we play (thanks to all the analysis people keep publishing) and that we can't break teams down - same as against sunderland and norwich, park the bus and hit us on the counter. 4 goals in 2 games is terrible but we have 5 more points that this time last year also the conditions suited west ham -
jesus, this is just a rehash with an updated spin - moyes doesn't get baines so lets get the story from the summer back in the public domain. Boring
-
if he does well then i think he'll move to a bigger club next season. watching the intro piece on saints player he seemed very sheepish holding up his saints shirt and then gave all the standard answers in his press conference. i think MP will have to work hard to genuinely integrate him into the squad. i hope he does.
-
Its about the PR and not the journalism - for years we've moaned the media don't like us but now the club is courting the leading football broadcaster and getting a positive response, some people are still not happy.
-
If he were to even consier leaving it would be to another prem club - the club would be insane to let him go. Obviously not much else going on in berkshire at the moment.

I a mate of mine works at Umbro and he says that firstly they hardly make any money out of supplying clubs with kits; secondly, unless we have the potential to sell as many kits as the likes of United, we get to choose from a few templates; thirdly the clubs say what design they want. Umbro have stepped back from football kits this season and i would imagine Adidas have been inundated by clubs to supply kits. not much wrong with the new one as a kit but it's just a bit dull and once again way too similar the mid 80's liverpool efforts - although if we replicate their success i won't mind too much.
-
it can't be this, it's soooooo bad - the official site describes the new kit as "striking" and that is nowhere near striking, even with a little artistic licence.
-
looks like a mock up - prefer last seasons kit, this is the sort of cheap looking basic shirt we might have had in L1
-
i think hooper would be a great buy for us, i hope we get him

Pointless Early 2013/14 Kit Speculation Thread
Supersubpuckett replied to The9's topic in The Saints
The deal would have been in discussion for months as Umbro knew ages ago they wouldn't be supplying kits next season due to their change in ownership. The club probably feel they will sell more if they build up demand/anticipation through a delayed launch. Also, we will be selecting our kit from one of their templates as we don't sell enough to warrant a bespoke design. -
God I am glad that Adkins left...how embarrassing!
Supersubpuckett replied to Dibden Purlieu Saint's topic in The Saints
nothing wrong with this at all, it sounds cheesy because he's used simple language but this will be his mantra from now on - desire to win games and scor goals with the upport of passionate fans. He's attempting to group the fans with the players, remember "together as one"? don't underestimate him - i seem to recall how when all other fans were taking the p1ss out of our nige we would be smug in our knowledge of the great job he was doing for us. -
just goes to show stats don't always tell the real story - the other thing to beare in mind is that this ill obviously include our horrendous start to the campaign. It would be interesting to see what the analysis says if the data was run from beginning of November
-
i wouldn't be surprised if stadium naming rights are up for grabs
-
Would you sell Shaw if the other team loaned him back for a season?
Supersubpuckett replied to DuncanRG's topic in The Saints
the media still seem to think we are a selling club. if he does go elsewhere it would completely contradict the fundamental strategy of the club - we can't state that 50% of the side will be home grown only to start selling these very players off as soon as they hit the first team. what we do with morgan and luke over the summer will tell us alot -
play our strongest team and win and hopefully achieve a respectable mid table position can worry about giving fringe players a go in the pre-season - unless there's a decent striker amongst them because the ones we have couldn't hit a cows ass with a banjo

The Championship Playoffs Thread 2012/2013
Supersubpuckett replied to Saint Scott's topic in General Sports
watford for me - Zola's son plays in the same football team as my lad so it might prove a good way to get free tickets -
two wins, 11th - what on earth were we ever worried about........
-
i think we'll get smashed tomorrow - 4-0, something like that
-
except of course city and chelsea have done just that, i.e. bought themselves overnight success - so maybe it could happen.
-
even if we lose every game the set of results elsewhere to get us relegated would have to be pretty extraordinary - ie all the teams below us winning virtually every game, then theres the wigan villa factor to dent that slightly
-
What an interesting summer we are in for...
Supersubpuckett replied to alpine_saint's topic in The Saints
i kind of agree with alpine - we have no strength in depth and unless we want to face into a proper relegation scrap next year we need to buy in some talent. with shaw and fox out who will play LB next week? who is our back up striker - guly, mayuka????? who have we got in reserve against morgan, davis and cork? If the club want to genuinely challenge for a top 6 spot next year then we have to look beyond the academy in the short term. -
Agree with both of these - Brighton away in L1 and then the stalingrad like defence in champ. On reflection we've had a lot of games where we just saved ourselves in the dying minutes - away to reading, home to blackpool......
-
can see a really scrappy game with west ham bullying their way to a 2-1 win

Bloke i work with is a card carrying pompey fan as is his dad but his mum is a scouser and a huge liverpool fan. She doesn't get to see them much but as they live in winchester last saturday represented the perfect opportunity to see her beloved reds put one over those nasty scummers. Well it didn't go according to plan did it. The best bit was his old man went to pick her up from SMS and had to sit there watching thousands of happy saints fans pass by while he waited. They had a miserable journey home.
