  1. every time i see our new kit i think stoke
  2. Cork is one thing but I can't believe we let prutton go
  3. I do wish him all the best, why wouldn't you? How our ex-players perform for their new clubs is a reflection on saints (and maybe even affects valuations of existing players), especially when they've come through the academy, so I'll be really pleased for him if he does well there. Likewise I'd like to see Lallana and Shaw have good seasons after all the sh1t they got last year. Obviously doesn't mean I want to see their clubs do well. Lovren is a different matter entirely.
  4. christ, after all this fannying around and massive fee I hope he doesn't do a lovren next season
  5. Think that's supply and demand, anyway £40 for two people to watch a top 10 prem side sounds like a good deal to me.
  6. The club could play hard ball and refuse to sell him in the summer, so two can play at that game - I'm sure the clubs are bigger than that as united will have better things to worry about.
  7. well maybe more to do with the fact he seems quite an unpleasant individual who is difficult to work with
  8. Opening home game against Villa - carry on where we left off thank you and I think they'll be just as sh1t next season.
  9. I'm sure austin would prefer a real dutchman to a bad impersonator
  10. seems flakey......not worth it, esp with j rod coming back
  11. Lallana was our biggest loss last year and his creativity is exactly what we're missing this season, the others have all been replaced like for like. As SNSUN says if we lose those players (plus JR) then I think next season will be horrible. The academy don't have any players ready for a consistent top 6 challenge level of football.
  12. Leicester will want it more.......I don't think our players will really want europa.
  13. i think we will lose comfortably. We seem to have lost the edge we had and now play fairly ordinary football. Spurs play the high tempo stuff we used to and I think that will cause our defence all manner of issues with kane ready to take advantage. 1-3
  14. pelle is like a blunt edge to a precision tool
  15. The quality of prem defences is often significantly greater than our national team I'm sure he'll get back scoring soon
  16. This - I don't leave early but often wish I did. The access in/out of the stadium area is shocking. All they need to do is install a wider footbridge and then more clearly sign different routes away from the ground.
  17. Tadic was REALLY bad Pelle ok but our attacking play did seem to lose a bit of flow and dynamism when the ball went through him Mane better through the middle than on the wing Davis was excellent, Long also superb - Wanyama tidied things up Thought we were a bit too casual at times although fully deserved the victory - Burnley offered very little
  18. Another way to look at it is any player considering leaving will see that, as a club, we coped well with the apparent upheaval therefore they won't feel as guilty about going - if that is ever a consideration of course. I also don't think we should under-estimate the pull of playing for saints. Think back to when we got promoted, how much more attractive a proposition are we now? Even going back a year, we've improved and raised our stock. As a player you will see how we support and nurture talent, plus the team spirit is strong and as a club we have a strong individual identity - the opportunity to play for a club like ours and challenge or disrupt the established clubs will be a big motivator to some people. On top of all this we have some of the best facilities and a superb high-profile manager.
  19. innocent until proven guilty isn't it?
  20. If Jose had responded like this everyone would have been loving it...actually he kind of does sometimes...but because it's from a guy running a team at the bottom he's accused of not handling the pressure (actually if you want an example of someone who struggles with the negative pressure look no further than mr mourinho). Nigel could have either rolled out the usual cliche (as in the above post) or let his emotions out, he chose the latter - quite refreshing and the lazy journo got what he deserved. If you can't be bothered to prepare decent questions then be ready for reactions like this - the fact he didn't have any back-up questions shows you how little thought he put into it.
  21. I'm obviously talking about osvaldo and not JR!!
  22. I know an ex chelsea player who worked with him at u21 level - he is, by all accounts, a grade A nutcase with a galactic ego. Never ever a saints player.
  23. if chelsea go out tonight then jose will be looking for a big response at the weekend.....at our expense. They will tear our defence apart.
  24. a striker of his type needs pace, even if it's just over a few yards, he hasn't got any - can just about cut it in the champ but would look ridiculous against most premiership defences
  25. Agree. He's reaching the peak of his career and has been a superb servant to the club. We aren't showing the the right level of intent to get into the top four this or next season (e.g. no top 4/champ league quality striker) as, quite rightly for our size of club, we have a longer term plan. Morgan's talent needs to be on that stage now.
