  1. Or 2003 FA Cup??
  2. Merson was very complimentary about us on Soccer Sat yesterday, loves Tadic.
  3. Back in the team?.....has he ever been in it?
  4. It's often psychological - as another post said, when you lose form you try harder and get more tense, which means you focus too much and put yourself under way too much pressure. This tension then prevents your body from performing at its best. If we're talking about redmond then he needs reassurance from management and support from his team mates. He should also set himself milestones, such as making sure he makes good contact with the ball, then just get the shot on target and then focus on placing the ball.....eventually it will come. Maybe we should sing him a song as I don't think he has one yet. Alternatively maybe the 'striker' isn't a striker after all.
  5. Funny how we can be a bit blinkered in our love for all things liebher and the stability they bring....we've had four managers in four years (complete with their own coaching teams) and have sold almost a first team of talent over the last three years. The fact that we achieved the league positions we have has been incredible but stability isn't a word I'd associate with Kats tenure. If she is selective over who she sells too (i.e. not gun running lunatic despots) then perhaps a change in ownership is our next step forward.
  6. Oh ok, my bad......well its in good shape to sell
  7. long contracts for key players long sponsorhip deals minimal spending after selling on high value players construction of infrastructure complete maybe the goose is being fattened
  8. It will be a bit of a lesson for puel - convincing 4-0 defeat
  9. we seem to be prone to letting these types of situation become very acrimonious............plus, and this is just my perception, our players are consistently easy to prize away.

I agree - we seem easy to play against, i.e. let us have the ball up to final third and then put the pressure on with a very good chance of hitting us on the break. Last season we started off badly but we knew we had a good side and a manager that would get results. I just can't see it this year.
  11. 1. Man Utd 2. Chelsea 3. Man City 4. Liverpool 5. Spurs 6. Arsenal 10. Saints 18. Bournemouth 19. Hull 20. Burnley
  12. I'm concerned that all our focus seems to have been on attacking players and despite this we don't have an out and out striker in the squad of appropriate quality and physical condition that fits our new style. Also concerned at the wafer thin depth of our defensive options - simply there is no cover for any of our first picks that would fill me with confidence, in fact I'm staggered we haven't brought in a new CB. Based on what I've seen in the first two games, like I have said on another thread, I think we are in for a touch season - it won't be easy on the nerves or eye. Our transfer/recruitment policy appears set against the backdrop of the dynamics of the league about 2-3 years ago - the rules have changed, there is more money around, other clubs of our kind of size are paying to keep their star players and then recruiting on top. More so than any other recent season, it seems we are slipping behind. I would dearly love to be forced to eat my words later in the season but this is how I see it.
  13. Incredible we haven't bought in a CB and DM - we have enough attacking players to make up the goals (maybe) but we have zero quality back up in defence. After sitting through the dross of our first two home games this is going to be a tough season. Either we couldn't get in who we wanted or leslie and friends have completely disappeared up their 'southampton way' a4seholes.
  14. Boring game and rubbish performance. We offer no genuine threat up front firstly because of the system which is too slow, allows the oppo to get back and doesn't get the quick players down the wings (yet again there were countless times we could have broken away but nobody was in position)..and secondly Redmond is no striker and he's also a bit of a pussy when it comes to challenges. We also seem to be vulnerable to a break through the middle, which i ironic as thats where all our players seem to be. The decision not to keep Koeman looks like it might be a bad one. Having said that we were garbage in the first few games of last season too......
  15. that bloke really needs to sort his nose breathing
  16. are ajax not in a blue group?
  17. the lampards, the terrys......and absolutely anything else John Hartson says
  18. foot race wtf! didn't hear it once during the olympics......and usain bolt wins the 100m foot race tw4ts
  19. It's obvious he's going to go somewhere - aside from there being too much media smoke for there not be a fire, he hasn't featured in any official social media stuff from the club. As someone said very early on in this frustratingly familiar saga, it's odd that our 2016 Euro winning captain has had no coverage. If the clubs have suspected he is leaving then I hope they have at least one new CB lined up and that we don't sleepwalk into another season with a patched up defence.
  20. We're gonna get ripped apart - Watford walked through our midfield at times last week, Utd will be helping themselves.
  21. Lots of businesses are pulling away from this type of corp hospitality which is partially due to budgets but also a ban on employees being able to accept invites. A full season is a big commitment as well. These days we are generally asked to do more Mon to Fri, so the idea of then giving up a Sat to entertain clients doesn't appeal so much - equally those who might be invited may also have the same view. The club needs to look at attracting more one-off bookings from private supporters, which will mean a more competitive price and a better quality of experience.
  22. So what about Cedric then? He seems ok.
  23. It's their opinion sweetheart, which they're entitled to, in response to the question of where they think we will finish NOT where they'd like us to aim for. I want us to aim for top 4 every season but, being realistic, that's unlikely to happen this season.
  24. 7th - 10th On paper there are Man City, Man Utd, Arsenal, Spurs, Liverpool and Chelsea who all have better squads and top managers. Then the likes of West Ham, Everton and Leicester will be competing with us for the positions below 6th. With our euro commitments I think 7th would be the most we can realistically hope for. Unless we sign Messi.....
  25. His instagram also doesn't make reference he just won a tournament with Portugal....maybe he's off to play for Spain! Sh111111111111t
