  1. Makes me think he's off.......sounds weird I know but there was something emotional and almost reflective about the way he said it. I hope I'm wrong.
  2. Ties in with the under armour 7 year deal. Maybe there is an investment plan in place where the club put in a concerted effort to get into top 4 and win something. A potentially great sign that we have upped our ambition for the next few seasons.....the decisions on koeman, mane and wanyama will tell us a lot. Or VVD has got more money in return for a chunky release clause and is good PR for the club at a traditionally tough period of the season.
  3. Agree, differentiates us from stoke and sunderland (which may not be an issue next season anyway) and works better with the dominant red of the shirt.
  4. I don't think Howe would be the right move, we need to someone who players want to come and play for which, in a world where all clubs have the money, is becoming increasingly important. Poch was an ex-Arg international Koeman even better pedigree Eddie Howe is just, er, Eddie Howe............foreign players might pronounce it Who Suggesting Howe is as about as ambitious as those who think Nigel Pearson would also be a good move.
  5. Down with Villa - Newcastle and Sunderland (fed up of the entitled we're a big club rubbish) Up - Brighton, Boro and Hull
  6. we made them look good at sms and i've a horrible feeling they will beat us - we're not realistically playing for anything anymore and some of our players might be thinking about their next move 2-0 villa with mane and pelle missing their usual selection of gilt edged chances
  7. It'll be an emerging/growing brand from either tech or healthy lifestyle industries
  8. If you go by the criteria of the post I think it's wanyama - if he has a good game then we generally do well. He gives midfield stability and the team more confidence. I don't think we have a playmaker that keeps the team ticking like lallana did - he and poch were our biggest losses when they left. Tadic plays well against sh1te opposition The other players quoted, I would say, are more talisman type examples but thats just my opinion....
  9. Long - it's taken us a while to realise what he brings to the team as I don't think his game has changed much over the season, it just seems that its only recently that we've really noticed He may have only got 8 goals but he is a disruptive player who puts pressure on defenders and goalkeepers.....if Pelle and Mane knew where the goal was he might have a few more assists to his name aswell!
  10. Agree. Spurs fans must be melting down the same way some of our lot are.....kane, ali, poch, toby....players get sold every year by most clubs so for rk to say what he did isn't exactly earth shattering.
  11. The question about away matches doesn't allow for zero attendance. Q14 and 15 are closed questions and therefore a yes/no answer, you need to re-write them so that they appear as a statement against which we can indicate how much we agree or disagree
  12. almost identical to the 96/97 kit - it's ok but would prefer the xerox design
  13. This plus champ league place to winners as others have said
  14. maybe the creator of the ad is a saints fan, given the opposition look like pompey
  15. If you win the league, you win it over the full season and not on individual results - so no, other teams need to create their own fortunes and i always want saints to win. If Arsenal, Spuds or whoever win it this year then congratulations to them as they will have deserved it. The mentality that drives you to want your team to lose just so that another team that you have a dislike of can't succeed comes from the same place as when the jocks always support who england are playing against - its a bit sad.
  16. he's not just about goals, all the other stuff he does is so important - i love the fact he keeps on running and puts the oppo under constant pressure. on top of that he looks like he actually gives a sh1t and loves it when we win. its taken time but there are some players emerging as those who are all about the spirit of the club and i think he's one of them.
  17. Football clubs became businesses well before the Premier League was launched. I've never lived anywhere near southampton but have supported them all my life and managed to turn my son into one of the most passionate saints fans you could want. If we want to compete and continue to develop into a well run, successful, sustainable club then we need to spread our support a little further afield than an SO post code. The fact football is tribal is part of its fabric and makes it what it is. Teenagers and people in their 20s don't seem to struggle funding their iphones and xbox live memberships. Whats wrong with having well fed 50 yr old fans? Having said all that I agree there is a limit to how much clubs can morally charge.
  18. blah blah blah i think west ham will win 1-0 thats all the poster cares about
  19. think we might do ok, 3-0 assuming yoshi is nowhere near the pitch
  20. 5 whole years ago.....ooooh
  21. typically consistent at posting a criticism of someone else's response, whats your point here?
  22. love the short-sighted views of some, the sort who would have advised branson not to start an airline or apple to develop the smartphone. I think this is an superb idea and a great way to build our influence and position in a huge market, both as a fan base but more importantly as a recruitment ground for the academy.
  23. Because the headline suggests the tadic transfer was dodgy....which, if you read the article, it's the opposite. Not really a hysterical reaction at all, although I guess it depends what your inner voice sounds like.....
  24. Maybe he's considering asking jwp out on a date
