  1. Downes greatly improved and added steel as soon as soon as we had a sniff of a promotion place 😊
  2. Terrific little player, flashes of Shaquiri and Kinklaze this season. Really hope the lad gets to show he can do it in the Prem for us next season. Best for us and Leo I think.
  3. Goal every two games for us. Scores all sorts, unbullyable and doubles up as a centre half! Top fucking target man! What we’ve been missing since Pelle! That long…
  4. 15000 ‘absent friends’ every fucking week! That group photo has an aggregate IQ of 150.
  5. I think we have squad of players who really want to play in the Premier League, and a good few who deserve the chance given the last six months. Previous play off experience will count as will narrowly losing at Wembley. I think we have too much for all four teams in it, they will be dreading playing us, but still hope Hull can do a job on Millwall. COYR!
  6. Great effort, remarkable really. Regardless of next fortnight this young manager and this group of players (who apparently no manager would get a tune out of), have given us the spirit of our club back. Fucking ace!
  7. and two metres past his left ear…
  8. Irish fans call him the San Marino wall - he only let in two against them and that was due to a shit defence.
  9. It's Dexter Blackstock. Not even close...
  10. My money is on Becks 0% and a packet of pretzels.
  11. Just think of it as character building, poor kids these days are starved of this kind of nostalgia - 3D Mortal Kombat!
  12. Think this lad is one of those players who has 'clicked' at SFC - his commitment is 100% and he has that rare ability for right place right time. I would sign him regardless of which division we find ourselves in next season.
  13. On way back. Thought we looked leggy tonight first half (unsurprisingly) and battled hard to go in front. Larin took a nasty knock and gave his all again, if only that overhead kick had gone in. When we took Larin and Fellows off for Stewart and Edozie we immediately looked lightweight on the right, losing every 50/50, and Ipswich capitalised. Manning or Larin MoM for me.
  14. I liked Still as a bloke and wanted him to do well, but he never seemed to have the players on side. I noticed this during pre-season in Spain but thought there was a chance things would improve, but they didn't. In the modern game if you can't galvanise the team you are toast!
  15. If that happens, it will likely be as full on as it can be in the 2020s should we beat them. I hope Millwall go up with us one way or the other.
  16. It's his level to be honest, he should be able to get them mid-table. Wonder if he'll sign his favourite league 1 goalie to give Leicester an edge.
  17. Would like to see Russ there to be honest. We can then revisit this thread as a Christmas present.
  18. We've got this chaps. Tonda's Terminators 3 Tractor Twats 0. Then blitzkrieg ensures at DePreston.
  19. A good mate of mine (unfortunately, died unexpectedly year before last) was a LUFC nut, and one of the main faces in the Leeds Service Crew in the 1980s / 90s - had settled down by the time I got to know him. He always spoke very highly of Saints support, and said that a lot clubs forgot that Southampton was a major port town and industrial hub for southern England, and got caught out. Blue few overrated and overhyped in that time period. As was mentioned above, when we have something to get behind the city always steps up.
  20. Glad you remember it Nick, magnificent support that day, like a cavalry charge in the park on way back to station. I seem to remember a strike in the docks (or maybe general strike) which led to a lot of lads deciding on a group day out.
  21. Always thought he was a good player in his day, tricky for a big bloke and always seemed to give opposing defenders a perpetual headache. Shame he 'went on strike' under Burley and left under a cloud.
  22. Yes, we can always go toe to toe when it matters. Over the years I think it's shocked oppo fans. One odd game that stands out was the FA Cup Quarter Final v Brighton in 1986, which we won 2-0. We had the whole uncovered Goldstone Lane side and end of the ground (10-12k?) and frightened the life out of the locals. Biley was a sub for Brighton and absolutely shit himself
  23. It is mate, think it’s crucial to keep the manager and spine of this side together. We have the best momentum in the division so let’s hope it happens!
  24. Final push to win these last two games solidly and give the pack something to think about. Us being at Wembley yesterday will undoubtedly help our players should we find ourselves back there in a few weeks time. Having beaten Fulham and Arsenal and given Man City a scare I want this side and our young manager in the top flight!
