Ok; below are a few posts from the Kaspars Gorkss thread based on a fella they showed on the big screen during the second half of yesterdays game. At first I thought it might have been Gorkss but, as others have pointed out, he was probably too young to be Gorkss. So I did a bit of searching and now I'm wondering if it was Jelle Vossen who we were linked with earlier in pre-season? Looks a bit like Gorkss but younger. Also - tenuous link time - on Friday we were linked with a massive bid and two of the names which came forward were a double bid for JAY Rodriguez and Danny FOX. Interesting'y, Vossen Google translated from Dutch (according to Google Translate) means FOX or FOXES and his first name obviously starts with a 'J'. Maybe these were clues leaked out but misinterpreted? All guesswork, I know, but stranger things have happened. Poirot, over and out...

Half way thru 2nd half, they showed someone watching the game from 1 of the boxes. Think it might have been Gorkss but eyesight isn't the best! Anyone else see it? Could someone post a pic so I can try to ID it?

Poster on not606 just posted to say he's heard Gorkss was at SMS until 5pm & a deal was agreed & we're just waiting on Punch 2 agree terms with QPR before an announcement is made. Prob BS but you never know. Saints QPR correspondent over & out!

Wonder if NA is the sort of manager who goes with a keeper and 4 outfield players or 5 outfield players now the number of subs has been reduced this year? As an ex keeper I reckon he'll go for the former but it'll be interesting to see what he does over the course of the season. I remember a few years ago Neil Warnock, at Sheff Utd, never bothered with a keeper because Phil Jagielka was a talented enough keeper to cover. Wonder if there's a hidden keeper amongst our outfield players???

I wouldn't blame Gorkss, if he does turn us down to fight for his place at QPR. He's been the mainstay of a side promoted to the Prem, spent all summer looking forward to playing in the Prem and then, just before the season starts, he's offered up as the makeweight in a deal which would take him back to the Champ. He's probably a bit gutted at being dumped like this. If this had happened in June, say, then this might have gone through more smoothly IMO.

NA didn't bring in any of our current LBs so maybe he thinks he'd rather be rid of 2 or 3 of them and bring in his own man instead. We've been linked with left backs all summer - he was even trying out young Ben Reeves there in pre-season - so maybe this is an area he's unhappy with even if it does seem odd to us. My Forest supporting mate told me they've still got an interest in Harding (he's not ITK there so no idea how he knows this) so maybe he'll be one to go, if this is a goer. Sure I read Cork was best mates with Rodriguez on a Burnley forum, when the chase for his signature was still on, so maybe he's been putting in a good word for us?

Although McCarthy did have a strop recently because he was told to reduce the size of his squad and EB himself maybe getting a little bored of being 3rd choice in a team which plays with only 1 striker unless absolutely necessary. Rumour is not as crazy as it sounds, methinks. The Gorkss thing also rings true. Yes, it looks like it's not going to happen now but the plan might have been to unveil the lad tomorrow.

I'm hoping he's done it for a laugh, biting his thumb at those who feel that's the very way he is...

Maybe its a betting scam! Agent starts talking about Saints making big bids for players. Daft punters start lumping money on us to go up, price goes down on Leicester (also mentioned), agent whacks a load of cash on Leicester. Allegedly.
