Maybe a contract will start to mean more to them - as it did, say, 20-30 years ago - as the luxury of allowing your contract to run down safe in the knowledge there will be a bunfight amongst clubs, offering ridiculous signing on fees and salaries, starts to become less attractive when they see more and more (supposedly) decent players not finding new clubs or having to take large wage cuts as the situation hasn't panned out as expected. Good, if it does, quite frankly.

On the Puncheon to QPR thread, someone has posted a link to the Daily Mail, which is carrying a story saying the Puncheon/Gorkss swap may be close to completion so maybe this has also affected the Jemal transfer?

Is that finished as in deal done or finished as not going to take place?!

Bizarre reason for not signing - wanting to know the transfer fee - if true! What difference does that make unless his signing on fee is a percentage of the transfer fee and he doesn't believe what we're telling him?!

Adkins' recent comments on Solent have been clear: 1 more definitely coming in & hopeful of another. To be so certain that someone is definitely going to sign it must be that the deal is complete pending something bureaucratic, which does tend to suggest a deal for Jemal. Visa or paperwork to be completed by the Swiss FA maybe? The media were reporting we've been offered Gorkss for Puncheon and, as that's gone quiet, it doesn't look like we've snapped QPR's hands off there, which again suggests Jemal, if we're in the market for a CB.

Seems like the Jemal deal is done and dusted really. For Adkins to be so sure that someone is definitely arriving but not being able to announce anything must mean it's a bureaucratic delay rather than a problem agreeing a fee or convincing a player to get on the bus.
