  1. Wont matter as Selles will likely line up with no striker again. But for whats it worth, I'd go with; McCarthy Bree ABK Bednarek KWP JWP Lavia Sulemana Alcaraz S.Armstrong Adams We're not keeping a clean sheet and I cant see us scoring more than 1. 2-1 Forest and relegation all but confirmed (if it wasnt already)
  2. Why do you hope it will be Wilcox? Has he ever been entrusted to make a managerial appointment before? His expertise to date is in academy player recruitment. Yes given his playing history he is a better option than Rasmus/Semmens (this forum is a better option than those two), but I'm not convinced he'll be that informed unless the manager has a City Group history, hence why Vieira is looking a strong possibility
  3. Eh? I'm pretty sure were talking about Orsic (or at least I was), not Walcott who was signed on a free and will be leaving on a free
  4. A year in the championship, hopefully winning plenty of games and building confidence can have a big impact on players too (even those deemed average). We proved during our promotion from the Championship what building a winning mentality can do. More recently, you just need to look at Fulham. They were hopeless when relegated two seasons ago but have returned this season with largely the same squad, but playing with alot more confidence/freedom. Marco Silva has been a big part of that. Hence why our choice of manager is the most crucial decision. We will retain some good players for Championship level, we will have plenty of money to spend given SR's reported intentions (plus parachute payments), but we need a good manager to help rebuild our identity/confidence. Get that appointment right and I'm confident we'll make a quick return 🤞🏼
  5. 80k a week and contributing f all
  6. He definitely hasnt been good enough during his time here to claim that we've missed the boat with him
  7. Our recruitment needs to be spot on this summer, especially attacking wise. While you would expect the likes of Adams, Mara, Onuachu and Alcaraz (if they stay) to chip in with goals in the championship, we desperately need a creative spark. Zaroury at Burnley and McAtee at Sheff Utd (we were linked with him) are perfect examples of such players recruited for next to nothing (or on loan). Recruitment under SR has had it ups and downs, and its still hard to judge some of the January signings coming into a basket case of a club and working under Jones/Selles. One things for sure, we'll definitely sign some kid from City, likely on loan 😂
  8. Whats the risk. If he keeps them up then great. If they go down then thanks for trying but it wasnt your fault. Either way they can pay Big Sam off and look for a new manager. The hilarity would be keeping Gracia who was taking them down anyways. Its sheer desperation, but its clear they want to retain the PL status at all costs
  9. The group of players I'd like to retain - not only because I think they would do a good job for us in the Championship, but a decent manager (if appointed) could get a proper turn out of them. I've left out the likely sales - Lavia, JWP, KWP, Tella and Salisu, which could fetch us close to £120m and those out of contract/end of loan. GK- Bazunu Full back - Livramento, Bree, Perraud CB - ABK, DCC RW/LW - Sulemana, Edozie, S Armstrong, Aribo CM - Alcaraz, Smallbone FW - Adams, Mara, Onuachu We also have the likes of Ballard, Doyle, Dibling, Amo-Ameyaw, Larios and Edwards who should get some exposure during a near 50 game season. Would be happy to see the back of McCarthy, Stephens, Bednarek, Lyanco, Diallo, Orsic, A Armstrong and Djenepo. While some of them may be able to offer something at Championship level, we already have a bloated squad and we should be looking at building a team capable of being competitive in the PL should we return again. Unlikely to see a cull of this size, but one can always hope. The loser/weak mentality of this squad needs weeded out which will require significant surgery
  10. Bring a bag of your finest faeces to lob at them. Its the least they deserve
  11. Hear hear
  12. Selles will be back coaching in Spain or the likes next season. Think hes now realising that hes not cut out for this management malarkey. More wonderful foresight from our board
  13. Just a tragic team and a desperate season which we all cant wait to come to an end. Says it all when those getting good minutes today (and some for most of Selles' spell) included McCarthy, Bednarek, Lyanco, Djenepo, AMN, AA, Elyounoussi and Walcott. Most of these players weren't good enough at the start of the season (or last) yet here we are.still persisting with them 😡
  14. Checked out of this season after the Brentford defeat. Only thing I'll be cheering for is somebody hitting Jacob Murphy a two footer around the head
  15. Stop doing it to yourself
  16. The warning signs were there when talk of Selles being well liked by our pathetic squad surfaced. Yes you don't want a manager that is hated (Jones to a degree) but these fraudsters don't deserve a say on who they do or don't like/want. Wouldn't be surprised if Ankersen lapped it all up.
  17. Jones was right to start fighting with some of these cunts. Their lack of effort or care is infuriating. Some of them are on 80-100k a week too Even had the nerve to walk round with a pathetic clap at the end like they actually give a fuck. I actually hate this team more than any Pompey team
  18. In no particular order..... Grimsby at home Forest at home Bournemouth at home Wolves at home Villa at home Everton at home Brentford at home Palace at home Brighton at home Newcastle at home Leicester at home (yes we won but we were pish) Brentford away Villa away Fulham away Leeds away Have I missed any? Just a catastrophic season from start to finish (as well as the last 3 months of last season). When I think about it, its much worse than 04/05. At least we looked like we could score a goal or two back then. We're god awful in the final third right now
  19. We're selecting a new manager....not players
  20. We wouldnt have been as bad under Nathan Jones tonight....thats how hopeless we've been under Selles. No tactical clue, starting with no strikers in a must win game - just shambolic. Massively out of his depth. Some coaches should just stay as coaches
  21. Outplayed and out fought by Bournemouth and Gary fucking O'Neill. Thats how bad its become. Well at least all those fans who were holding onto false hope that we could actually get out of this mess (let alone score a fucking goal) can now agree that we're down. What an absolute spineless, gutless, ball-less, pathetic, shocking, abysmal, atrocious, shambles of a team and club. Apart from Lavia, JWP and Alcaraz....I wouldnt give a flying fuck if the rest of the squad was sold/released. Remember when people said Ruben Selles was the tactical genius behind Ralph. Honestly, Nathan fucking Jones would have picked up more points if we kept him in charge. I feel sorry for him because hes another manager out of his depth and that rests with SR. Were Rasmus and Semmens there tonight? I hope the fans near were giving them both barrels. The epitome of failure. We were actually ok when they came in 18 months ago. Now look of the state of us. If Dragan has any care about his investment these two dickheads would gone by now.
  22. If Wilcox is being consulted on our next manager, and given our obsession with the City Group, I wouldnt be surprised to see us appoint Patrick Vieira. Both he and Wilcox would be very familiar with each other from their time in the youth development setup at CIty. If he was willing to drop down, we could do alot worse, although I'm not sure what style of football he played at Palace. Yes Hodgson has lifted them, but there were some positives under Vieira last season. Would he be a positive appointment for attracting players or retaining players?
  23. We're down. Have been since December. These other games have no bearing on us
  24. Fairly sure that Jason Wilcox will not be charge of identifying our next manager. Unfortunately Ankersen will likely be deciding that
  25. Just an observation. And sorry to go all MLG on you but Saka scored 90+1 👍🏻
