We had a chance to bring in Marco Silva at one point didnt we?
-
I've supported Jones for the most part, but if he starts Lyanco in a back 5 tomorrow then I'm done There can be no justification for starting him, even with DCC and ABK playing for the B team earlier. He is simply not a good defender. And the players clearly dont understand whats required of them in a 5-3-2. I think the best we can hope for with the B team selection and KWPs hamstring niggle is; McCarthy (unlikely) Bree Bednarek Salisu Perraud Lavia Alcaraz Elyounoussi JWP Edozie Adams This team fills me with zero confidence, but at least for future games we should have KWP, DCC/ABK, Sulemama Orsic and Onuachu in the starting lineup......if (a big IF) Jones selects them

Boehly paid a million for it to be fast tracked 😂
-
When has that ever happened though? By halftime tomorrow he'll have played 90 mins in 24 hours and be expected to play another 45. I'm sure the sports science team would be delighted

You predicted we wouldnt bring a striker in. Lets hope your latest prediction is just as good

Cant be worse than the disgrace of a performance we put in at Brentford last season.....can it?

I did warn people that the punditry and build up would be hard to stomach, especially after the biased coverage they got in their QF. Hence why I didnt watch a minute beyond the actual match. On the plus side we had Ally in commentary, could have been the female commentator on the game tonight - people are up in arms about how bad it was 😂😂

Jimmy Jay Morgan not to sign a pro contract at club!

It wont come next season. Maybe James will be in the starting lineup, but the likes of Mount, Chalobah, Loftus-Cheek, Broja etc will be phased out to the periphery of the squad (to keep within the homegrown rule). Scary to think what they might spend this summer -
Interesting to note about the signings is that if do we get relegated, I think they'll all remain with us in the Championship. I wonder if that played a part in who we targeted i.e. our ability to retain them next season. Yes it'll be gutting for them not to be playing in the best league in the world, but for Onuachu (Belgian league), Orsic (Croatian league), Bree (already Championship) and Alcaraz (Argentinian league), they'll still be playing in a better or comparitive league in the Championship. Sulemana will be playing at a lower level, but he had limited game time towards the end of his Rennes career. There may be release clauses in play for some (not all) of them, but they will attract decent fees if so. If we had've signed Dembele, Beto etc, they would've been gone the instant we get relegated.

Like this team alot, although I would seriously consider McCarthy (whens he back?) or Willy in nets. Bazunu's shot stopping and presence has been questionable to say the least, and his distribution which we're told is his strong point, hasnt been overly noticeable. Any keepers on the free agency market?

Very good window, but I wonder if those doing the recruitment feel it could've been even better. To me, it appeared we were pursuing both Vitinha and Onuachu at the same time. Yes, if Vitinha had've agreed to sign we could have dropped our interest in Onuachu, but it didnt look that way

If we regroup and come back stronger the same way Fulham have there wont be any complaints. Also we'll have a nice change of scenery for a season, instead of playing Palace 4 times 😂

Who is advising this kid? If he had've moved to City or United or Arsenal, I could genuinely understand this as there is currently a pathway to the first team if your good enough. But Chelsea? They've spent 600m since Boehly came in and god knows what they'll spent in the next few windows. That pathway has all but disappeared. You just need to look at Broja, broke into the first team squad then gets his injury. When he returns in the summer he'll be behind Nkunku, Madueke, Havertz, Mudryk and Fofana - before they even splash another 200m on forwards. -

If Lavia doesnt start games, we will be relegated. If he starts most of the remaining games, we might just have a slim chance of survival. Hes that good and makes that much of a difference. Silly levels of composure for a kid -
We're definitely done with Sulemama and Onuachu. Couldnt imagine the club keeping another deal secret in this day and age with social media leaks

Tbf I dont think hes had many supporters on here, regardless of the fist pumping. His flaws were obvious from day 1, and we were warned by Torino fans too -

Lavia makes such a difference, didnt give that wee gimp Bruno and Longstaff a sniff. For as much improved as the second half was, Pope was barely troubled. Yes the 1 on 1 which AA has to go round him and Edozie should find Che with the cut back. But the result was never in doubt after a car crash of a first 20 minutes. 5 at the back just doesnt work for us, especially in a game.where we need some attacking threat. Some tough questions need directed at Jones but I doubt that'll happen -

Think thats the issue. Its a massive game to throw somebody into on their debut, after training with the team for a couple of days. It hasnt worked and the manager needs to own that -

There is literally no point in the CBs pulling wide, when they dont have the ability/confidence to play through the press. Thinking we're Man City, only to just pump it 50 yards which Bazunu could do. The mind boggles. Hope when big Paul arrives we'll just play it long from the goal kick -

All three of them have been a mile off Bruno, Longstaff and Joelinton. Ridiculous space being afforded -

If we win he'll still get pelters 🤷🏼♂️ -
Can guarantee one thing. Nobody in the squad tonight will be leaving in this window. Djenepo not in the squad however
