Alex Crook saying that PEH bid accepted by saints and KWP deal agreed too
-
I posted initially after his first 4/5 games that I didnt think KWP was very good. However his performances in the last few games proved me wrong. It'll be a decent bit of business if we can get him for around 10 million. I wonder why the Maehle interest has disappeared, not just from us but from other clubs. Was linked with quite a few decent clubs at one stage

I think they've learnt their lesson from what was a horrible transfer window. They spunked alot of money on players untested at PL level
-
Adam Blackmore disputing this. Claims no price for Hojbjerg has been agreed and that 15 million is well below our valuation
-
Any more on the identity of the championship CB you heard about?
-
Our media team like to do things differently. Maybe we'll get 7 days in a row of the Ralph Express video
-
And who do Spurs have when Kane gets injured, or Wolves if Jimenez get injured, or Everton if Richarlison gets injured? In an ideal world you would have at least three very good strikers in case of injury, but problem is you have to keep them all happy. What we have at the moment in terms of striking options is enough for our top 8 ambitions. They can all score goals in the PL and offer something different. Long has just signed a new contract and Adams/Obafemi are still developing. None of them are going anywhere. Do you honestly propose buying a 5th striker? Would rather see a number 10 like Tadic brought in who can chip in with goals and help assist the strikers we have
-
Theres more chance of us signing two good CBs in one window than there is of us signing a striker. We're fine in that dept
-
We are still defensively poor and despite Stephens and Bednarek having a decent season, they should be no higher than our 2nd and 3rd choice CBs if we really want to push on. Salisu will fit the bill of our 1st choice CB. The pursuit of a championship CB would make sense, somebody who will start as 3rd/4th choice and be pushing to start. We need good competition at that position, havent had it this season. Cant see us bringing in Disasi after Salisu, but if we did it would be a clear message to Stephens/Bednarek that they need to improve again to keep their places

The 90 minutes today summed up Alex McCarthy perfectly. Two fantastic stops (one on one against Sharp and then a point blank reaction save) to keep us in the game. Then a moment of madness where he passed it straight to Sharp when under no pressure and then looked like he handled it outside the box. I like him as there is definitely more good than bad however he needs competition too. Cant see it happening but would like to see us move on Forster and Gunn and bring in a new keeper to challenge McCarthy

Was Ings just one goal off Vardy? What would have happened if they finished on the same number. Shared or do they give it to the player who scored the most minus penalties?
-
Will always remember MOTD highlighting and analysing one of his early performances for us (WBA away i think). He was everywhere - breaking up play, great workrate, constantly pressuring opposition players, finding great passes. Thought we were onto something great but sadly it didnt transpire that way. People have blamed his attitude, others the managers he worked under. Either way its best we move him on (hopefully permanently) and find a replacement for him and Hojbjerg (probably just one player). Can see him going to France where he started his career
-
Id say so. Usually when a player goes on a free they look for a whopping contract citing this as justified as the club havent had to pay a transfer fee
-
100 percent. Davis was a very good player for us and so is Armstrong. Both make the team better. Bizarre that some of our fans dont rate them
-
If we had the chance to sign Loftus Cheek i would take him no doubt. Hes very strong in possession, good in the air and decent going forward. Interception or ball winning numbers doesnt equate to being dominant, it could just mean that you're spending more time behind the ball - hence why Bournemouth have 3 players in the top 16. Same as Brighton.
-
Definitely more 'dominant' than what we currently have in CM
-
I wonder if they'll be next seasons Villa or previously Fulham. Throw around silly money signing 6-8 players, ppl on here getting annoyed that we're not showing the same ambition....but then they'll still be fighting relegation
-
About right? He has one year left on his contract does he not? Thats a great deal for us, for a player who is not crucial to our plans (as we've seen in recent weeks). No doubt we'll be lucky to see the full 25 million reinvested in the transfer window.
-
What moments were these? Yes there was the 9-0, but not much he could do with many of the goals with the defending in front of him. Hes only 24 and the much more experienced McCarthy has had his fair share of howler moments too.
-
The assist maybe?
-
I've seen quite a bit of Maehle (dont know much about Zeefuik i admit). Maehle is big for a RB so rarely gets outmuscled or beaten in the air (remember those dreaded hung up crosses to the back post targeting Cedric!!!). Very quick and offers good attacking threat. Unfortunately, I think we've probably missed our opportunity as a number of champions league clubs including Atalanta are now interested. Hope not.

Tbh Swansea were hopeless for the last few months of the season
-
We'll agree to disagree then. He certainly didnt play well in his 45 mins against Arsenal and as you said struggled against United. He didnt play against Norwich and only 45 against a knackered Brighton the other night. He would need to put in good performances in our last two games before we should consider paying 10-15 million for him. My opinion just.
-
Dont get the buzz around KWP. IMO hes looked okay in some games (was awful against Arsenal). Hes too lightweight and gets muscled off the ball both defensively and offensively way too easy. Yes he looks a better option than Valery, but thats no mean feat as Valery has been shocking this season. Honestly believe if we want to push on for a top half/top 8 finish next season we need to set our sights higher than Spurs' third choice RB. Also the fact that Levy will try and squeeze us for every penny. Would rather we pushed for Maehle or Zeefuik. Two stronger, more dynamic full backs - and both would likely be cheaper than KWP.

Vestergaard getting alot of grief for the goal and rightly so, but Bednarek was equally as bad. Too far off Maupay and gets done for the extra yard when Maupay lets it run across him. Looks terrified of playing a forward ball too, everythings sidewards or backwards to McCarthy. Least Stephens makes use of the space he gets and drives into it. All the more reason why we need two CBs this window
