The Starmer Years - Can The New Broom Sweep Clean?
Weston Super Saint replied to sadoldgit's topic in The Lounge
I imagine that'll be next. Probably end of April / beginning of May? Maybe hidden in amongst an extra bank holiday? -
That should not stop any team from buying a player, ever. It's only common sense to buy injured players. One day the rest of the footballing world will catch up with our brilliance.

Rid the house of sharp knives? Shred all pieces of rope? Put all medicines in a triple locked safe? Those sorts of preparations?

Is it far? Will I need to factor in a piss break?

Good grief, it looks like we did. Must have missed the pomp and circumstance around that! Another quality signing then that played exactly zero mintues in the two years he was with us.

Apparently, too much time in Guantanamo bay turns you into a Leprechaun. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cn8xle4zx51o

It's not 'abuse' when it's true

Have you any evidence of actual 'consternation' amongst European leaders or are you just frightening yourself in your social media echo chamber?

Rwanda will have them, they've got plenty of room not being used.

J18 would be a nightmare - along the Portway and through the CAZ. Best advice would be to ignore satnav shouting at you until you get to J19 - then go past Pill and satnav should then take you the correct way on A369 to A370 which would avoid the CAZ, then it's left at Long Ashton and right onto the A38 which will take you to the airport. Just googled the route which says to use M32 through the middle of Bristol to end up on the A370 - ignoring that and going to M5 Jct 19 would probably save 30 minutes most days!

So almost identical to the last couple of seasons then. Cunning, very cunning.

We would be in a worse position financially as we would be in Championship with 2nd year of parachute payments compared to being in the PL with TV income and guaranteed 1st year of parachute payments next season. In terms of league position we would potentially be higher than 20th, but that is not a given as many teams had already worked Martin's tactics out by the end of last season...

Someone desperate to take a pay cut next season?

Bristol airport. Firstly isn't really in Bristol - about 8 miles outside. Public transport is practically non existent (there's a bus from the city and another from Weston) but not a great service. Train, forget about it as you'd need a taxi from Temple Meads. By road, avoid the back roads, go A34, M4, M32 (but you need to go through Bristol's CAZ), or M5 to Avonmouth and along A4 (but still go through CAZ!). There's another route from Clevedon or Weston but they are yocal back roads. If going by car, which is the only real option, book parking in advance. It's expensive though, maybe cheaper at Gatwick for park and ride?

Farmer Saint. His mate is a player agent don't you know. There's not much he doesn't know. He has been quite forceful with his 'plan' explanations. Mere mortals like me should not question that kind of judgement.

Why would we? We've been told, unequivocally, that the strategy for recruitment in the summer was to buy Championship players for next season. Why would we want to abandon that plan and buy a PL striker when we have BBD, Archer and Arma good to go for next year?

8th time lucky, eh?
