Leicester could dominate the game because we gift them a goal. If we don't turn up, then it's that much harder to bring out our own possession game. We looked uncomfortable passing it out from the back. Lack of familiarity in both shape and personnel. So we give it away and it's two down. Persisting with so many forward at corners, is going to cost us. We got away with a couple, and teams will look to exploit that. If we lose it in the middle, we leave acres of space in the full back positions. Yet,Leicester had their fair share of errors. We got one in, but had two go for one effort and a header that could have gone better. The third before the break came from Leicester being happy to keep it until the break, but taking our invite to push past us. Bazunu has had a good game. He looked a bit pressured once, but has mixed it up, saved strongly and faced up to having to deal with our high line. Fraser looks direct and AA is putting in his usual shift. Edozie got back for a solid tackle, as well as getting a goal. We miss Charles in midfield. Smallbone does some things well, but doesn't break it up, and get in front of shots / block as well when Leicester are pushing through. Our tactic has got us forward a bit more, without creating chances. At the same time, we've looked more than shaky at the back. A quick second could get us back into it, but we're chasing this and our opponents should be experienced enough to see it out.

We allow teams to walk right through us. They got bored with having possession, went up a notch and went right through us.

Yay! Leicester have made their fair share of errors too. About time we finished from one of them. We need anumber of chances to score, which is something we seem able to do in this league.

Cut apart again. Defensive madness again. Prem level players effortlessly exploit a passing game where a lot of our players look uncomfortable.

And nearly a second. Our defence went off to clown school over the break.

Oh for... Our passing 'keeper out to our keep posession defence, who promptly give it away and show how porous they are.

I was just trying on Pamplemousse's "bad day at the office" hope thought, and now it's gone. 🙂 I'd prefer Charles on midfield, so can only hope for 1) A recovery for everyone else or 2) Holgate improves.

I don't really have a comment. I just wanted to see the above again, and stare at it in wonder. Who'd have thought it. 🙂

I might be misremembering here, but didn't Pep replace Hart with Bravo, due in part to the latter's distribution from the back? I think there was an early error, where Pep backed him to the hilt. But I think there were more, and he was dropped and eventually moved on. That was probably Pep's first season, as I think Hart getting the boot was an early call. And I don't think they did win the title. If that's right, then I think the answer is that Pep wouldn't have won with Bazunu in goal, having dropped him some time before. But he wouldn't have won it with Bazunu's replacement either in the same season. 🙂

And on the other side, you have people believing in things that aren't true. One side thinks it's an intervention, the other thinks it's an an alien abduction or proof the pod people have captured their loved ones, because they know the truth, and must be stopped.

A dreadful signing for everyone involved. TP brought right aint the end of the window, just as the tactic, and the manager were going out the door two games later. Under Selles, I saw him get into positions, only to walk back when our attack broke down again. He wasn't suited for the attacks Selles was looking for. I thought we might get him out on loan for this season. I guess the club added up the wages, the possible cost of the exchange player, amortisation, and the fee with add one, took a deep breaths and took a bit. Perhaps thinking that at least they got something back. SR caught out, backing Jones when his position was already untenable for many, and picking the next manager with someone he couldn't use, but who was closer to the previous tactic (that they failed to get a striker in for). He wouldn't have got a look in, under Martin either. He'll be glad to have got out, and who knows what a return to his previous form will bring?
